Yes, from both a film and then later in her TV show. Both are very funny. In the first, the band goes from playing waltzes and then switched to go-go dancing, and in the second, she says her name is "Peanut Brittle" and she has all the moves of "Elaine" on Seinfeld...

I watched this show when new. I was a child, and loved it. I liked both versions, one she lived on her father in law's farm with her kids, and the other version she worked for a magazine, lived in the city, had no kids, and her apt had a spiral staircase I thought looked cool.

I was a kid and loved the first season. It looked like heaven. I remember being upset when she was at the pizza place - but not totally disconnected from the farm. Suddenly, she became Mary Tyler Moore 😳 I was very upset about that ! I was 6, I thought it was all real.

I guess this was the late sixties - she was apprx 46-48 here, she's very girly & has such a healthy aura! I believe she had 2 embrace this TV series, after her thief hubby Marty Melcher died & she realised he threw all her cash away & gave her a massive debt as well! He has siged her 2 make this TV series plus a few TV specials - she was sad & reluctamt but had 2 make cash. This was a big success, & she escaped her debts. She was always a bad picker where males were the prize - she had terrible luck with them. I relate 2 her as a result - I'm sure all her female fams sympathise!

Only thing I hated about this show is how the producer kept changing the theme. I love it when it was her, her boys, and her father down on the farm. Then she and her boys moved to the city and they were communicating with dad. Then, suddenly, she had no children! I think in the final season the producers got rid of the children, BIlly DeWolfe, Kaye Ballard and Bernie Koppel. It just made no sense to me. And I think Doris felt the same because after the 5th season was over and the producers came to her for a 6th, she said no.
@alexocean75625 жыл бұрын
It was Doris's idea to produce the show with content that represented what Doris wanted everybody to see, know, learn and be happy, and the power of Women. It was Doris, check the story about how Doris got 'roped' into doing the show in the first place and what Doris made the show to be! Love her, love her, love her.

How TV has changed. I barely remember her show coming on now but the song I remember it from back then without hearing it today. As far as comedy, the Three Stooges, The Beverly Hillbillies. To me that was funny plus many others from way back when. I do not see anything funny about comedy today. Last movie I thought was funny was "Oh, Brother Where Art Thou." I don't even watch TV anymore. I don't care what the Kardashians are doing or any other show they have these days. I believe I have been better off not watching them. I had to quit watching the news too. There only so much bad one can take.
