I genuinely believe him when he says that he did it because he's so desperate for a relationship. And that's even worse. He doesn't fully understand the situation. Why exactly what he has done is so bad. Otherwise he wouldn't have made a video in which he so blatantly incriminates himself, he really thinks this is a thing he can apologize for and then just move on (and I think his fans will let him do it, but that's a different conversation, in an ideal world this wouldn't fly).

@@sodapopp4367 but it IS weird and creepy. Your mentality and life completely changes. At 14 you’re just getting into hs, while at 17-18, you’re getting ready to go to college, become a legal adult. At 20 shit you have so much more responsibilities than any teen does (usually). The maturity level drastically changes based on the environment you’re usually put into. As someone who’s 21, I don’t even date 18-19 y/o because while I’m getting ready to graduate college and take one a whole ass career, why would I want to be with a kid who’s barely taking on their responsibilities? It might sound like “just three years” but so much changes within that time, there’s a separation of maturity levels. Which ultimately leads to a power dynamic where the older one is in control of the younger ones nativity.

@susiem.20683 жыл бұрын
I don't necessarily agree. At least, it deters and scares away most people who know in their heart they are not supposed to be there. If you're a kid, you know you don't want a whole legal team reviewing your ID and locating your parents. The same way if you have crappy intentions you won't sign a marriage contract wih a penalty you know you can't afford. It's a great way to protect yourself and screen your counterpart. Dating apps are just social media outlets with more selective interactions. I think that it is necessary to gather that type of information especially when you're an influent person as it might ruin your life. People have been sending smut letters for centuries and sexting has been around for at least as long as BlackBerrys have been around. I do agree that he shouldn't talk to fans because as we know he caters to a too young audience to mess with them.
@kaitlynham47873 жыл бұрын
@@susiem.2068 I understand your perspective, the legal team looking through individuals and checking their IDs has benefits and will deter minors from pretending they are 18+ but in his video he never actually addresses the issue of the fact that other members in society don’t have this issue because most ppl, especially high status individuals don’t send sexually implicit photos/videos without knowing the individual at least enough to confirm their age, checking IDs is just one aspect of the solution, not the entire solution but he talks about it as if it solves the problem entirely when it doesn’t solve his mindset around the issue.

I get your point but I don't really agree with the comparison tbh, you can coerce someone into signing a consent agreement, but showing proof of ID while yeah not the best option I guess is not something that can be "scammed" the same way the consent agreement could be. If you don't want to show proof your 18 or older then the interaction stops, unless you're suggesting them being coerced into making a fake ID? The signed consent form is used to protect the abuser but making it abundantly clear youre underage protects you

It happened again. I went back to the admin and they didn't do anything about it. I spent the rest of my 3 years in high school trying to get him held accountable. It never happened. I now have a very weird relationship with people in power. In college, I had to contact some admin to dispute a grade I got and just emailing them and seeing their response triggered me and brought me back to high school. Agree. Thank you thank you for this video. It is the best video I have heard about this subject of victim shaming. As a retired teacher I saw what victim shaming did to children. It DESTROYS them.!! I know of children who were abused in Grade 6 and 7 and today as 35, 38 yr olds they ARE still suffering. It affected their families, friends, husband's ànd wives. They started cutting and a few never stopped. They have thrown themselves down stairs, tried suicide many times . Have had failed and abusive relationships and marriages AND THEIR children are suffer now! They were BLAMED for enticing these evil people. They were vilified by their peers, teachers and other parents. So for me ONE is too many. The pain NEVER goes away. These EVIL abusers carry on living without a minutes thought to the trail of abuse, pain and heartache they leave behind. People who do this to children, actually anybody should NOT be on KZbin at all. Should be in jail. don't care if they lose everything. My blood boils!!😡😡😡🤬 there are many who ARE destroying lives and nobody is doing anything, but I thank you once again for your love and passion that you have for children. Stay safe. There would be someone to love him but they'd be equal and not as satisfying as finally getting Dylan's positive attention. Even if it's some other boy. He is CRIMINALLY emotionally stunted. He has all the resources for daily therapy, rehab stays, live in life coaches. He very much knows how he is, that it's not okay, and he's really happy doing it. I don't care about James anymore. By liking and accepting Jame's apology video, thousands of people accepted an apology that wasn't even meant for them. You don't get to 'forgive' someone who never wronged you, it's just not your right to do so... my heart really goes out to all the victims

I really appreciate that you, Abby, and Swoop are using the terms children and boys. Words are important and it's important to note that these are CHILDREN. I didn't watch JCs video, I'm just sticking to other coverage, but this is all just diversion. He is a predator and he must be held accountable. Enough is enough.

Louder for the people in the back! That frustrated me so badly when he blamed desperation. I didn't have a boyfriend until I was 22. I waited it out to find the right person. It's👏not👏hard.

Which is also darkly hilarious since the actors they use in that program look 14. How did you not know? They aren't even pretending to be older and are saying their ages honestly. It's a real bad excuse especially if it happens multiple times.

The thing that sticks out from James' apology for me is that he said he didn't realize there are issues with power imbalance when it comes to messaging his young fans. He's not messaging them for intellectual conversation because he sees them as equals. CLEARLY he's not interested in actually getting to know them or he'd have taken the time to ask about them and perhaps even read their ages on their public social media profiles. This is 100% about power and control, and you can see it in the way he speaks to them when things don't go his way. James saying that he didn't know is a bold-faced lie.
@mariahhkate3 жыл бұрын
Especially when he used the term “flirting,” like that’s all he was doing. He really downplayed what he was doing with those boys and it pisses me off!
@jules66263 жыл бұрын
THIS! You’re 100% right. It’s the most twisted part of it - people with that much power are so used to being in control, they start to view others as just pawns to use/dispose of, and believe they’ll never face consequences.

Remember in the bye sister video when Tati called him out for his behaviour on her birthday he said to her: it doesn't matter, I'm a celebrity. He absolutely believes he can do anything because he's famous and nothing will happen to him. He's aware of that and his power.
@r.h.19883 жыл бұрын
Honestly, it feels like the bye sister scandal just reinforced his belief that a)he can get away with anything because of his fame and b) any scandal he might find himself in will simply blow over with enough time and PR management.
@dh55733 жыл бұрын
@@r.h.1988 yep. that No More Lies video was so obviously pr-managed and scripted, it's astounding how ppl actually felt it sincere. i guess he really does have a very young fan base that sees a "receipt" and think it's the key to all truth lol.
@chloed5553 жыл бұрын
Yes! I just remembered this happened! That comment alone shows he totally recognized the power imbalance even back in 2019 and knew exactly how to exploit it.

Right!? I wish Tati could be un cancelled now. Maybe there were issues with her delivery and she shouldn’t have mentioned the vitamin thing too, but she was overall in the right and didn’t mean any harm
@Lillithowl3 жыл бұрын
@@georgiadoan8903 I'm sorry Tati totally meant harm. She knew about it for ages and it was only when she was pissed off about the vitamin thing that she spoke out. She did't do it for noble purposes, she did it for revenge.
