I absolutely believe the theory that she named the podcast Cancelled so when people search “Tana Mongeau cancelled” the podcast comes up before all the posts about her previous controversies. An important thing to remember is the reason Tana (and a lot of her contemporaries) get away with not caring is because her fans also don't care. Like you said even after their racism scandal this summer, the Cancelled podcast is still doing crazy numbers. Tana won't go away so long as there are people willing to give her attention.

On the OF thing… I did it from the ages 21-25 and it’s not a decision you should ever make lightly. Tana marketing a predatory agency and only showing her young female fan base the “cool” part of SW made me really upset. I don’t think anyone under 21 should be doing it, and they shouldn’t be signing with management. She’s no different from p*mps who mistreated and exploited SWers for decades if not centuries. Love the makeup Hannah! You look slay ✨
@2010MrIsaac3 ай бұрын
In my opinion, nobody should be doing SW to begin with.. but yea: anybody under the age of 21 being able to sign up on a platform to sell themselves was something unthinkable not too long ago in history. 😢 Can’t wait to bring kids to the modern reality we live in! 🤔😣

@@2010MrIsaac SW is one of the oldest professions in the world. What we’re not gonna do is shame the people that choose to do it. We should be putting more safeguards in place to make sure it can be practiced safely. Try again.

This is probably the most egregious thing she has done. This is what made me completely not support her…she’s a pimp and making money off girls who may not know the full scope of what they’re doing. She’s despicable and I will never support or watch anything she does.

@@manic_girl People can share their opinion about anything, and it's not up to you to police it. Just because it's old and normalized doesn't make it cool.
@ms.dreavus24463 ай бұрын
@@manic_girl Actually what we're not going to do is spread misinformation on the internet. Your first sentence in and of itself is objectively false. "Prostitution is the oldest profession" originated from Rudyard Kipling, an imperialist misogynist who specifically harbored hatred for South East Asia, which is ironically where a huge swath of women suffer the most from prostitution in the world today. You could possibly argue that prostitution is the oldest profession _under patriarchy_ , when you consider how women were historically sold into sexual slavery by their fathers and handlers for profit, political gain, and favors. But that doesn't sound like a 'choice' to me. Even modern camgirls and OF models don't make choices in a vacuum, as online sex work skyrocketed during the pandemic when people were losing their jobs and were desperate for a way to make money. Privilege is the ability to take sexy pictures and post them online for profit without worrying about how what you are doing perpetuates an industry that is mostly filled with people who are trafficked, abused, assaulted, forcibly impregnated, and frequently murdered. While I will always advocate for workers' rights and better working conditions, I will never treat systemic oppression, abuse, and coerced sex the same as a regular job. It's disingenuous to act like prostitution is like every other form of labor out there, especially when it disproportionately affects women, particularly poor women and women of color. More safeguards should be put into place to protect the people who want to leave prostitution and cannot because of fear and financial disparity, not to continue the exploitation and objectification and abuse of women globally.

On her being an imperfect victim, I wonder how much that feeds into her current behaviour? It's very common to encounter people with the attitude of 'no one stepped in for me, no one helped me, no one stopped me getting taken advantage of, so these people I'm taking advantage of are going to have to learn the hard way, just like I did' She doesn't care about vulnerable young women because no one cared for her when she was one.

I need the Unruly situation to get way more attention than it is. She's literally profiting from the exploitation and abuse of vulnerable sex workers. Considering she tried to pressure her employee and friend into having sex with an old man to get herself a free trip on a private jet, we should have no illusions about how she treats the girls she recruits and how little she cares about the abuse they suffer from the agency while she's taking a cut. I almost wish you did a dedicated video on all the different parts of that in detail (like pressuring Alissa Violet to sign up to Unruly using literal pimp tactics, her continued promotion of Unruly in her bios, and confirming in a podcast after Tana's Angels stopped being a brand that she's still getting a cut from Unruly for signing people up, etc). I feel like it's getting a bit lost in videos like yours and CWHM (which are great deep dives that I appreciate!) and not the detailed dedicated vids that it might need to get through to people how serious this is and how it's continuing.

this is gonna sound really pessimistic, but honestly, if tana's fans haven't realized that she doesn't care about them by this point, I don't think they ever will. I think she's probably gonna stay D-list relevant for decades and is probably just gonna live her life like normal and never face any real consequences. which fucking sucks. she seems like the kind of person who, even if she got embroiled in something legitimately illegal, would find some way out of it and just end up scot free a little beside the point, but I feel like a lot of that comes down to her being a pretty white woman. change "pretty" or "white" and she wouldn't have a career full stop

first of all you look absolutely gorgeous as always ❤. second of all, i used to be a huge fan of tana in like 2016-2017 when i was a naive 20 year old and i've seen since then how blatantly obvious she is that she doesn't care abt the things she's promoting or her fans. it's disappointing bc she is genuinely gorgeous and funny and has potential but she turned being scandalous into her whole brand and uses that to try to get more clout and money but then tries to go after other people and call them out. like i'm not perfect either but imo that is hypocritical. no human being is perfect but still tana has no room to call out other ppl for their mess ups if she's still having plenty of her own. despite what she claimed in her earlier videos she has changed and will continue to do so and regardless of what she said in the early videos she didn't remain authentic or real. then when people say they miss the old tana she gets mad. at least that tana was just a normal girl who was funny and creative and wanted to make people laugh. now all she wants is clout and money
