When I went to therapy (trauma, depression), at some point, my psychologist drew a triangle on the board and explained this to me. At the end of that session, I was so mad at her! I thought _"How dare you think that I like being a victim, expecting someone else to save me?! As if I was making this up, pretending to be depressed to be a victim, hoping people will feel bad for me! F You! I don't want anyone's sympathy!!"_ It took me a moment to understand that her goal was not to accuse me of anything but to make me understand that there is no "rescuer", that if someone is going to save me, it has to be myself. Looking back at it, I realise how well she knew me. This could have ended very badly if she did this to someone who would have taken it the wrong way and think _"Nobody understands me, even my therapist doesn't understand me! There is no hope..." and who would have "ended" it.

Being single is lonely. Being in a relationship is stressful. Either way, you really can't win.

Unless it’s the right relationship 👀
@nhunguyen091 Жыл бұрын
That's such a wrongful, negative, and extremist point of view, my friend. Life is NOT that black-and-white and shouldn't go to such unhealthy extremes. Being single is ONLY ever lonely if you refuse to establish and maintain the other kinds of relationship in your life (family, relatives, friends, coworkers, like-minded folks, etc) and isolate yourself to a life of a misanthropic, socially inept hermit. And being in a relationship is ONLY ever stressful when either one or two of you are toxic, immature, struggling with internal issues, unwilling to communicate with each other, respect each others's needs, desires, and boundaries, cooperate to solve problems together diplomatically, and take the responsibility to properly maintain the relationship like mature adults should. Plus, there needs to be a period of time where everyone involved is allowed to have some personal time for themselves and tend to their own lives' business without the other partner. That's how healthy relationships function. Of course, there is nothing wrong with choosing to be either single or in a relationship, it depends on each individual's preference and should be equally respected. There is definitely a way to "win" with both choices and that is BALANCE!

The victim archetype is why I don't allow myself to fall in love. I've been struggling with depression and have a lot of emotional baggage from my childhood. I've created this illusion in my head that once I fall in love all my problems would go away, since I'll have somebody by my side. I had a friendship one time with a persecutor at one point we had different beliefs and they kept yelling at me for something we didn’t agree on, I became a victim and my parents found out about what was going on and they wanted me to leave the relationship, I was scared that my friend would hate me even more then what I believed in. I watched a KZbin video about toxic relationships and something stuck with me “no one should need you, they should want you” so i told myself that I’d ask them if they wanted me as a friend and if they answered me they needed me or they ignore me then I would tell them that I wasn’t happy and I need to end the friendship and if they said the simple yes I’d try to make the friendship better. I asked the question at school the next day and she ignored me, so it was over and I told her that but it did hurt in the long run I should have rephrased what I said but it was overall healthy for me to be away, they ended up spreading rumors of me, but this year they wanted to be friends again and I had forgiven them but I don’t trust them now I don’t know how to tell the person no without having them spread rumors again. I do know that I did say somethings wrong but that person shouldn’t have taken it that far
@Vi-Vi-Kitty3 жыл бұрын
Honestly, I don't think there is anything you can do to stop this person from doing what they're doing. And being friends with them again is only going to start this whole cycle again. Unless they've actually shown any change from last time, it's best to not trust them. If it were me, I would outright tell them to stop and let them know that I am well aware of what they did and how it made me feel; whether they deny it or not. But that's just me. I don't know how this person would react to a sudden stand from someone like you, cause I don't know you either. In my mind, it seems that the person at hand knows that they can take advantage of you and continued the relationship to do just that. When it comes to rumors, there really isn't anything you can do to stop people from talking about you, but furthering the relationship might only make things worse. They might be making rumors as we speak. And Twilight, If you were someone else's friend, I'm sure you wouldn't do anything as this person did to caused pain. If this is true, then you should expect that from others as well! Always! I'm sure your parents and other loved ones wouldn't want you to be hurt by anyone, much less by someone who deems themselves as a "close friend". And girl, you deserve to be treated with love and respect as much as the next guy. Remember that!

Victory triangle?
@jackdavies54835 ай бұрын
The victim wants to pull someone in close by becoming the victim. This then triggers the other person into becoming a rescuer. Then end up over extending themselves to the point they unintentionally communicates that the victim doesnt have capacity. The victim then feels terrible about either being a victim or how others perceive them. This accountability flips them into being the persecutor, either angry at themselves or others. This then flips the rescuer into a victim, and the persecutor is left feeling guilty and shamed. This can then either break up a relationship as the percecuter digs their heels in or sends the percecuter into being a rescuer.

I'm needing to vent since this is that type of channel, by in 5th grade (I'm a 8th grader now on summer break) I was friends with this beautiful girl named aria, you see, at the time we were best friends and we bonded most during tag, and tragically, at the end of 5th grade she said these words "I like you" and for me this was bomker I was paralyzed as my vocal cords were, and before I had a chance to say anything they ran fast and away from me, I assume they were in tears. And I felt perplexed, 2 years later I'm a 7th grader and I don't remeber a thing when all of a sudden, she walks up to me in the hallway and the conversation goes like this, Aria: Hey! Me: Hey! It's been a while. Aria: it has. Then she speedboats to her friends, and what I'm confused by is that sometimes she doesn't even want to look at me and sometimes she is open for talk, and I'm always scared of talking to her when she's with her friends becuass what if they think of something that would ambarass or scar me or humiliate me so I have been through a loop with false hopes, dread, regret and mood changes, etc. If there any true help or advice that can help, please share it for the love of God. (FYI I know the video has nothing to do with this but I chose the more recent one so people would see it. Thanks
