Once I got my tombow precision eraser, and I didn't have to try to break off and shape and erase with a kneaded eraser for the tiniest, most precise areas.... my sketches dramatically got better. I also think that my sketching got better because my confidence went up. Instead of bring afraid to sketch because if I made a mistake then erasing it would be a gamble and maybe ruin the picture.... once I knew I could erase EXACTLY what I wanted to, I because much more confident in my sketching. I HIGHLY recommend these for anyone who sketches whether they think they need it or not. It's cheap enough to keep around and I'm sure you'll find it invaluable at more than a few points.

I have replied to you just recently congratulating you on your excellent channel. I have used small (homemade, cut by me) erasers for a long time but a couple of years ago I purchased an electric one but I don’t well like it because it is a bit uncontrollable having a tendency to skip about if not tightly held and controlled. Because of just now viewing your video I ordered the eraser you mentioned along with a couple of refills. I wish I had gotten it originally instead of the electric. Thanks for the great information again. I shall keep watching and spread the word among my artist colleagues here in north Texas where I currently reside and I will do so with my friends back in London and in my other home, Oslo Norway. Great job again! Rune Madlands.

I have a battery eraser that came with a bunch of fine point and regular size sticks. I love it because I make plenty of mistakes. I use it as manual eraser as well. The eraser quality isn’t as high as tombo’s but as a beginner, I can’t live without that eraser.

Does it not ruin your paper? Going over with that battery eraser over all them mistakes?
@33Jenesis2 жыл бұрын
@@PSG81 nope. It works even on copy papers. Any drawing or painting paper are more robust than cheap copy paper. Don’t know if it works on canvas because I haven’t yet tried. The tiny rubber stick is perfect to create highlights or correct drawing mistakes in small areas. I haven’t used the regular size rubber stick because I do have a Tombow manual pen eraser with regular size rubber stick. If the whole thing needs erasing the regular kneading eraser or block eraser would do.

I do use the Tombow, and I love it. I use one with most drawings. But I also use a pair of eraser pencils, one with a round tip, and the other with a short, very sharp tip. These take more maintenance than the Tombow, but I find them just as useful, and certainly more versatile. I've tried several brands, and most work, but my favorite is Mr. Pen, which is one of the cheapest. They erase very fine lines, or straight, wider areas, depending on the point, and have a very nice brush on them. I also use Pentel Hi-Polymer erasers for large areas. I also use kneaded erasers, of course, but these have almost been completely replaced by Blu Tack. I just like the way Blu Tack works more than the way any7 kneaded eraser I've trie does. I still use a kneaded eraser for mild lightening of a small area, but I use Blue tack for everything else, including picking out highlights.

They are good, but I've never really had a problem finding goo0d erasers. That said, I, too, find the Tombow Mono an absolute must have. I hadn't really thought about it, bu8t I should probably weed out my eraser collection. I have no clue how many I actually have. Of different types and different brands. Doesn't matter where I am, if I see an eraser that I don't have for sale I have an irresistible urge to buy it. Of course, I have the same problem with cheap sets of colored pencils, sketchbooks, on and on.

A lot of people do use these and I do have one but personally find a firm kneadable eraser like the Factis K20 to be much more versatile. For any thing more extensive an Artecho or Tenwin electric eraser with the fine tip works great.

@@SwedePotato314 Oh, most definitely the Tombow is the best for overall work. The electric eraser with the tiny eraser is great for making small dots by bouncing it on the page. It not only saved wear and tear on my wrist, but time and the dots were much smaller. photos.app.goo.gl/qBSfSGN9p9e1SRRo9

I have the Tombow Mono Zero eraser but I find it very hard and it ruins my cotton paper, even if I use a very light touch. I have another stick eraser (not as fine) and it's much softer. I don't know if I got unlucky with the Tombow or that is the way it's supposed to be...
