Jay if I came to you with an open check(less than $100K), would you suggest a turntable system with Electrostatic, magnetic resonance, or cone speakers? My current system is as follows; Power amp is Tandberg, Control amp is Adcom, Tape deck is Nakamichi, speakers are Klipsch studio reference. 1. You pick the price point of that check. 2. This would not be a one-time sale. 3. This would be just music, 90s music, and before, some classical, some jazz.

Why sub woofers are far away from main speaker. Is there any delay compensate in the system? Low frequencies are slower than upper frequencies.

I love the McIntosh mono block 3 x stack for tri-amping. Seems they gave up on there own McIntosh speaker array and is hawking Sonus Farber solely now.

Help with what ? This channel is into high end and ultra high end, and does that with propper involvement, energy and approach, thus catering for the projected costumer base in the appropriate echalon of this industry. For different class of products it might be better to possibly look into elswhere. And by no means is this intended to detter you or incite any other negative vibe. Cheers and happy listening.

p.s When we are with the Danes, Vitus Audio is worth mentioning as well ! So, 2 pairs or even 3 I guess (since one would need to power the subs) of their range topping monos, would be a combo to behold ! Yes,yes... I knooow! It would be 2 mil. or certainly more for the entire set up, especially if we include front end like the best from Wadax or Esoteric and to connect the entire thing with the best from Siltech, Nordost or maybe ZenSati !!! Ah, ofcourse ac controlled by several Stormtanks maybe and evem before it reaches that, dedicated lines from the local substation, than switchboard, fuses, in wall cords, outlets etc. Vibration control by HRS for example and last and most important a propper listening room! As close as possible to golden ratio, solid construction, no flimsy dry wall ridiculousness and nonsesne with low ceelings ! Now we are talking . Hey, I know guys that have spent millions on art work that makes me cringe and laugh, but to them is worth it. So why the heck one wont reach far down into audiophile pockets if it floats the boat . Cheers to all ! p.p.s Lets see if someone closely connected with S.F will chime in about the suggested combos !?!?

You can't have affordable and high end in the same speaker it must be one or the other, can't be both. You can get a very good affordable speaker, but not one that I would call high end.

I guess Sonus has some kind of agreement with McIntosh to use their electronics. McIntosh has a nice soft and clean sound , but I question their bass control with their very low damping factor values.

I put forth this sentiment in slightly different manner on the S.F offcial insta or whatever the heck it was, and ofcourse no reply. It was more in a way of a - Why not more balanced approach of system building, cost wise. To put it simply : a 800k speaker with a more or less similar price amplification, but that drops their sister brand Mcintosh out of the picture and one will need to go with something like amps from Goldmund , Vitus, Pilium, Boulder etc. For which I highly doubt that even S.F themselves have listened them at any point of development, voicing etc. Heck, who knows for sure. In my book is pretty simple, same as I wont partner a entry level 800 USD Pair of speaker with a around a 200 USD worth of amp but one thats 800 or more, same mindset rolls over in this upper stratosphere of ultra high end. But hey, thats just me and my personal approach, so... Cheers to all ! p.s And no, Im not hating on S.F , I actually own a pair of the Aida 2 which I run with Pass Xs 300 in one of my residences.

I respect the brand, the attention to detail BUT choosing for such a different in height between the main speaker and the sub is a design nightmare. I like R2D2 and C-3PO but I am really not waiting for a high-end version.

If you heard EEAS you'd kill yourself. If you didn't succeed then when I told you what the equipment cost you'd try again. How can a system that costs less than 1/300 of the toughest competition beat all of them? Simple, it works on entirely different principles. It doesnt reproduce recordings, it constructs sound fields. The process is much more complicated and difficult.

Two words: diminishing returns. I’m sure they sound really nice, but 750k doesn’t always equate to better sound than say a 20k speaker.
