Too me it still is a trauma when SEGA decided to pull the plug. I was distraught. I love all SEGA systems, but playing the Dreamcast always has an uncomfortable element to it, as there was so much wasted potential, and as it was an end of an era.

It's hard to believe how good these documentaries are. They are masterpieces in themselves I dare to say. They're full of everything good and beautiful, missing anything like ugliness and ignorance. Thank you so much. I was born in 1976, an arcade gamer since Asteroid, a home videogame fan since Intellivision. Also, I've been professionally working with Japanese entertainment (manga, anime, games) since 1994. It's more than 25 years now. I know what I'm talking about, and all I have to say here is "thank you".

I dont know how you can think that the current era of video games is not creative or unique. You arent looking hard enough if so. The selection is ridiculous right now, genres upon sub genres and beyond. My advice would be to stop following the so called standard of gaming journalism that only publicize and promote current trends and look deeper.

Attached to it are so many fond, wonderfully warm memories and personal experiences I'll never forget. I continue to make more. This video was simply incredible. Seeing and hearing these amazing and talented game creators give first hand accounts on their perspective of SEGA as a company at that time and Dreamcast a tool for creating ideas and bringing their's to life. @finaltuned27555 жыл бұрын
People have been saying that for close to 15 years now, I remember when it came out in 2001 and saw it featured in Dreamcast magazines which I still have. But in 2005 there was an ambitious team led by James Howell called DeltaHead who started work on releasing a translation patch that could by used in a back up Dreamcast disk for SGGG, but they could never maintain a consistency, they were always busy with something else and it got low priority and so it didn't get done by 2008 as some predicted. They still have a website up dedicated to the work on it called Segagaga Translation blog, but try updates gradually got updated slower and slower to the point of two years inbetween posts, and now it hasn't been updated since 2013, so they've probably given up on it by now. There was also another attempt to translate it more recently by a KZbinr from the United Kingdom (the English part) called TDawg, he uploaded a proof of concept Segagaga Translation video with the first part fully translated to gauge interest for help working on it, but again, he's slowly moved away from it and not followed up on as originally intended, so it's been over half a year now. So probably another failed attempt sadly. It's strange, fans go well out of their way to get things translated but an actual RPG game about the company itself is rarely mentioned, doesn't get the same coverage as an RPG or ambition to completion behind it. There's fluent Japanese speakers that go to fairly easy lengths to translate things, like PhantomRiverStone and Jimmy Hapa - who sometimes works with Slopes Game Room (SGR) - who specialises in all things Sega, but still, doesn't seem to be the same ambition or effort shown to SGGG sadly.

Thank you for this. That Sega in general put creativity to the fore was a special thing, especially in light of how the industry is now. It was such an exciting time to be into videogames - I don't think any 'next-gen' machine will create the same feeling the Dreamcast did ever again.

In the end, it is not all about commercial success , it is about touching the hearts of players too. Sony´s Playstation market placement has always been smarter and they are been doing great consoles with a lot of third party support but in the end it feels like it lacks the incredible heart and soul that Sega and Nintendo have, Playstation 2 is an incredible console, best seller of all times...but it takes more than incredible sales to be a LEGEND like the Sega´s Dreamcast.
