The 11th Duchess was a delightful lady. She did a lot to turn Chatsworth into a profitable business, thereby allowing for the maintenance and embellishment of the estate. I saw her several times on TV and read her books. She was so original, kind and funny!

I just don't understand how these families can part wth such sentimental pieces such as the diamond heart pendant. It's a shame a grandchild or niece or nephew couldn't have inherited something so lovely and be kept on the family.
