That gold piece is part of a glasses frame. These were almost always gold filled, rather than solid gold. Solid gold is too heavy to use for glasses frames. When you scratch test gold filled stuff, it will always test positive because you scratch it off the surface, obviously. In order to do a thorough gold test you must cut the piece and test the cut.

Merrill, I've never been much of a fan of compiled videos like you're trying to do on Sundays. Maybe only when you have enough material to make it worthwhile. Or, maybe tack on one or two as they're available at the end of your regular videos. Having published a numismatic/philatelic society newsletter for a number of years, I know how hard it is to solicit content.

Hi, yep it’s that know it all ancient witchy again, this time about butter knives like the ones you found, they are posh fish knives. You don’t exactly cut with them, you hold them at a slanted angle and fillet the flesh from the bones. They still exist but I don’t know anyone who uses them nowadays.
