I have loved this show since Jan. 26, 1979, when as a 7-year-old trying to stay away from the babysitter to go to bed it came on. And I was absolutely transfixed from the very start. No ones saying the hellcats aren't powerful because they sure are. The hellcats marks the first time in Mopar's (and technically speaking Mopar isn't even an American company anymore anyway) history where there are factory installed superchargers on large cubic inch v8's Hellcats make that power mainly because of SUPERCHARGING If it wasn't for that they would not make the power they make. And with that being said EVEN still they cant touch the original Charger in terms of overall class and desirability. Don't believe me? drive a hellcat down the street and watch everyone yawn. Drive a classic Charger down the street and people are pulling out phones taking pictures asking questions at every traffic light.

First season was easily the best. Georgia locations were actually used, explained why Roscoe went from being an honest cop to a crooked one, Enos was a more sympathetic character towards the Dukes, & no stock footage used. That started coming after that season so by the end chases & crashes were mostly from that. In a way fortunate as it stopped more Dodge Chargers from being wrecked, though the number they got through was still quite high (up to 300 rough guess). Also spotted in this the various patrol cars Roscoe was using. 1970 Dodge Polara, 1974 Dodge Monaco, 1974-75 Plymouth Gran Fury.

However when it comes down to it the Charger has a history of racing and performance that traced right to nascar. Just the stance of the Charger is like no other car The 1968-70 Chargers represent themselves quite well even in todays technical age there will never be another car that looks that good
