I smile but part of me wants to cry tears of joy. My Grandmother's nickname was "Peg", she was about 5 feet tall. I have shared with others but my Grandparents sent me to college with just a few dollars, but she made sure I had my black leather Bible, my athletic gear, and a few tunes. One of them was Steely Dan, the track that rocked me to sleep when life was tough, I had only a few friends, no money, but plenty of memories was "Peg". Thank you for being part of my youth !!!

I totally dig that, and thank you for pointing it out in a positive way. I see too many players dogging on John for not playing Jay Graydon's solo note for note. But these same characters would dog him even if he did because they're foolish. Herrington is a wonderful player.
@joemasse4568
@joemasse4568 2 жыл бұрын
Jay Graydon,solo? One of the best on any steely Dan songs, Herrington should play it note for note, it’s a masterpiece inside the song, not a easy solo? Perhaps he never took the time to learn it? I would compare it to a Beatles solo big part of the song and should be played accordingly!

Joe Masse: My take is that he is playing what Donald Fagen asked him to play. He obviously is capable to play the historic solo note for note but he is after all an employee. My guess is that he asked whether he should play “the solo”, his own improv or some combo of both. Nothing about his playing says to me that he has not studied the SD guitar book, intensely and that is truly a great feat.
