@@michaelfitzurka5659 A lot of talented kids for sure. But how many are listening to this caliber of music, much less creating new? And of those even listening, how much of an audience will they find in 15 - 20 years? I'd say those of us who know and appreciate this music have been blessed. I don't enjoy sounding like an old fart, but I'm hard pressed to find any modern music of this high level of craft and soul.

@@Ruellibilly Thanks, I have, they're amazing. Really good stuff. I stumbled across them a while ago, but haven't followed them too closely. See my "old fart" comment above. But it also sort of confirms what I said. There are definitely folks putting out great music, but where's their audience? It all seems very niche, something people have to go out and find. And I get it, Pop music is not always going to be the place to look for serious musicianship, but lately it just sounds like a wasteland. A few good songs pop up occasionally, but there ain't much quality overall. I mean, Steely Dan, The Allman Brothers, The Stones, The Beatles(!), etc. etc. There was some craftsmanship happening. Bands are hard, I know. But the reliance on producers for beats for artists to rap over is killing me. Maybe my radio is broken, but Lizzo and Megan Thee Stallion just isn't doing it for me.

Great group of pros. Jon is unique, so smooth and chill. Look him up. After the show we go to Beacon Hotel Bar, and there is some of the band. Jon was so approachable, easy to talk to. Let's not knock those "guitar gods" just because there are other great guitarists out there that are least known to the general public. The problem is not them, the problem is the ignorant public that won't listen to anything that is not mainstream. And no, there are no guitar players that play circles around the "guitar gods" if by guitar gods you are referring to the likes of Hendrix, SRV, Clapton, Page, Beck, Blackmore, Gilmour, Santana, Young, Iommi, Moore, Allman, EVH.......... Let me name you a few that are less known to the masses but ARE guitar gods in their own right or could have been at that level had it not been for misfortune or not being in a more popular band/music genre. Let's see how many you recognize from the list (I hope you are honest about it and respond if any that you hadn't paid much attention to before actually impress you); Frank Marino, Rory Gallagher, Allan Holdsworth, Paul Kossof, Alvin Lee, Terry Kath, Mick Taylor, Robin Trower, Danny Gatton, Randy Rhoads, Eric Johnson, Johnny Winter, Peter Green, Steve Hacket, Leslie West, Alex Lifeson, Eddie Hazel, Dickey Betts, Roy Buchanan, John Cipollina, Pat Metheny, John McLaughlin, Al Dimeola, Steve Howe, Robert Fripp, Andrew Latimer, Pat Travers, Joe Walsh, Don Felder, Pete Townshend, Stephen Stills, Robby Krieger, John Etheridge, Kim Simmonds, Stan Webb, Martin Barre, Allen Collins, Gary Rossignton, Steve Gaines, Hughie Thomasson, Billy Crain, Jimmy Herring, Neil Shon, Lindsey Buckingham, Ted Nugent, Gary Richrath, Steve Rothery, Steve Lukather, Michael Schenker, Mick Ronson, Mike Campbell, Jim McCarty, Jan Akkerman, Andy Powell, Ted Turner, Clem Clempson, Peter Frampton, Jerry Garcia, Jeff Healey, Derek Trucks, Warren Haynes, Joe Bonamassa, Gary Clark jr, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Phillip Sayce, Eric Gales......

I played drums for over 35 years, and Jeff Porcaro is one my all-time top-three drummers. I humbly submit that Shannon Forrest is the closest living thing you can get to Jeff Porcaro. The dude is absolutely, undeniably, off-the-charts in groove. Tasty grooves. Tasty fills. Same drum sounds, same cymbal sounds, same "lope" on the Jeff tunes he played with Toto. If I believe in that sort of thing, I'd argue that he actually IS Jeff Porcaro reincarnated.

What a combo of professionals doing what they love best. Singing and be part of the music world. I was only a kid back then listening to this song on the radio. At 50 now and still appreciating that music. Beautiful video. Regards from Bougainville Island, Buka. PNG.😂😅

Jeezus John Herrington is a friggin MONSTER guitar player. And I’m a pro guitarist playing for 40 years. Gotta play this one like the record for obvious reasons but I’d love to hear this guitarist just improvise his own stuff over the whole tune.

This is excellent all around. Someone point me to some new music with the gravitas of this vintage gold. I miss the music of the seventies, not in that I can not still listen to tons of stuff I missed that is great, but there seems a huge void in the post 2000's landscape for that magic.
