I learned Jay Graydon's solo in Peg note for note when it came out, and performed it live many times. It is harder than it sounds. This guy was allowed to riff his own solo and his tone and choices were far from the masterpiece Jay Graydon laid down on the original. He did the same to Larry Carlton's masterpiece in Third World Man.

@@jevinday No. I saw him and the Dan perform about six times live. He remained mainly on pitch. But very few do. It is what it is. As a singer/songwriter myself who has performed live since 1969, I know that there is no such animal as a perfect performance. You never know the direction your voice will take in front of an audience. You do the best you can do and pray no one notices.

I remember hearing this song in the late 70s being too young to know who were the musicians and singers. Unlike any other song I'd heard before, there was one voice, in the background, that stood out and got my attention like never before. "Peeeeeg!" Who was that???
