I love The Dummies version of this song ❤❤as compared to Slade 's. It's faster and catchier. Moreover Jimmy belting out the vocals is truly a pleasure, an undying Jimmy Lea fan and of course Slade too!!❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
@marcstevens8576 Жыл бұрын
It was a very good version from Jim, who is most multitalented, however, I didn't like it as much as The Original, as I feel that His faster speed of the tempo took a lot away from the lyrics, as this was a very well-written song & shouldn't have been on the same page as Skweeze Me. A good job all the same. 🎸🎤

Jim formed the Dummies with his wife and brother to prove the point that although Slade weren't having hits anymore it wasn't due to the songs it was that the media had moved on and the record company had lost interest in Slade too. Re-recording less well known Slade material in his own studio, adding some new stuff and then getting airplay proved to Jim that there was nothing wrong with what he writing. Record something as Slade and no-one was interested Record the same song as The Dummies and you get tv and radio exposure. The blokes a legend.

@joesophie90 The boys did get a resurgence in popularity after the 1980 Reading festival and don't forget Chris Tarrant a big fan had them on Tiswas whenever they had something new out. There were quite a few metal fans during the NWOBHM period including myself who actively pushed the band to metal DJ's like Neal Kay who then played their stuff like WBTHD loud and proud. Of course having a hit out of the blue like My Oh My gave the band a whole new lease of life. To some it was a comeback to many the band had never gone away. 😁
