I agree but the Scottish government only have to respond to petitions that reach a certain number on the Scottish parliament petition website. Having the petition on the change website may not help. The family can't afford the £25,000 legal fees to get the inheritance. And in the meantime the properties are not being maintained and are accruing huge unpaid fees. Todays sponsor has some concerning aspects to their practice. You may want to watch Mickey Atkins, who is a LCSW and practicing therapist, video on why she declined a BH sponsorship. She goes over the concerning privacy elements, treatment of their contracted therapists by the company, some of their misleading advertisement claims, and more. As well, I've seen people saying comments against them are disappearing on multiple different videos from different channels where they are the sponsor, and in one case I've seen a content creator say they were not deleting the comments and were unsure where they were going or why. If true, that also concerns me. Good video besides that though :)

@@RowanWarren78 The bad part is, I don’t even think it’s the content creators deleting comments. With YTs comment guidelines, if you go into too much detail (even mentioning PTSD sometimes gets my comments deleted) it’ll delete the comment for being “inappropriate”. It also wouldn’t surprise me AT ALL if BH has a hand in deleting negative comments calling them out. It makes sense that people would still use them as sponsors if they don’t know the issue. This is why discipline is so important in a child life. They need to understand and know that they cannot act this way. It's unfortunate how this turned out. Carol enabled his behaviour, and turned him into this monster. I work in a school and this student of mine misbehaves like hitting other students. They are 8 years old but when we discipline him and inform his mother she asks him what happened and immediately takes his side and sees no wrong but him 'self defence' despite us telling her he is the one who started it and was hitting them. From then on he just continued and his mother didn't do anything until we told her we will file a report to socials since there is a lack of discipline and his behaviour is getting worse. Ofc we had to inform safeguarding team on this. I fear that I turn Inti this type of mother.
@oren130511 ай бұрын
Not just discipline, boundaries and proper discussion of mental health and grief. Ross was babied the way he was, because he was a little boy who lost his dad, and his mother didn't know how to handle it, so she parented out of guilt. You won't turn out like Carol and Ross, if you remember how important it is for a child to have balance and stability, even during hard times.

I have used therapists outside Betterhelp and currently a therapist in Betterhelp. The fact is, some therapist are good and some are terrible regardless if you use Betterhelp or not. It is on you to do your research and leave the therapist if they aren't any good. I think people who have never had a therapist before may be blaming BetterHelp for their bad experience when the reality is the therapist is the one to blame. It isn't easy to find a good fit. It's also sad, that so many therapist exist but so few have compassion and actually help. As for the "scamming" portion, I personally hadn't had an issue and hope to not have one. You pay for a month up front and you pick the day you can meet with the counselor. Once that session is over, you pick the next session. Eleanor said she used it, and there are KZbinrs that have used it and had good experiences but dropped the sponsorship because people complained. It's possible her experience is like mine, which is good. As for the cost, the pay is cheap compared to a therapist from a private practice, I'm guessing that's why they get paid so little. In regards to data mining, I don't know about this and only hope that they aren't selling incredibly serious or personal information. Regardless, if you haven't used it and can't attest to the experience, then you don't know if the rumors are people airing their grievances because they're pissed about their experience or if the actual company is legitimately bad. I'm sure they need to improve but I think people need to do more research first.

And yet they had to fight, despite Ross being found guilty, to deal with Carol's estate because he was executor. I think that is where the difference came in - you cannot benefit from a crime but he was still the executor so in charge. @coffeefox57032 жыл бұрын
@@anjy9077 Uh, no he wasn't. Ross was said to be a normal child before his biological father died. To say Ross just became a spoiled brat out of nowhere is disingenuous. Parents do play a large role in how their children turn out, especially since what makes someone "themself" is the experiences they gain through life. Ross wasn't always a "co dependent abuser" - he was a child early on. Yet Carol never disciplined him, gave him everything he wanted, stood up to her husband when Ross was committing LITERAL crime, let him avoid responsibility and lie time and time again, and to top it off she stood by and did nothing as Ross beat her daughter. What sort of message do you think that sends to a child? That tells them that they are in charge, they have the power, they can do whatever they please, violence was acceptable, and they are better than those around them. Why would it matter that Carol was his mother? To Ross, he was clearly being sent the message that she held no power and that he could do whatever he wanted. His behavior seems to fit that message pretty damn exactly. Ross may have been the one who ultimately made the decisions he did, but Carol played a large role in how he turned out. To deny that is to claim that parenting is worthless and means nothing in regards to a child's development. This should be a tragic yet cautionary tale if anything. Carol's murder is tragic and very sad but could have likely been prevented if different choices were made early on. Ross could have become a functioning, or at the very least - non-criminal, member of society if he was given proper discipline and punishment for his actions as a child. Before his "spoiledness" became genuine, intentional abuse... and eventually, evil. We were all spoiled brats as children, and for me personally? Discipline and having a sense of right and wrong instilled in me from my parents is what made me who I am today. That's not uncommon. Parenting matters. There is a reason certain years of a child's life is called their developmental years. What happens during that time can shape who they are greatly.

Even aside from the murder part, This mother and son relationship was just so extremely unhealthy. We have a woman who gave up her marriage because of her *ADULT SON!* She accepted that her other two children were pretty much ran out of the house because of her son... This woman was willing to LITERALLY give up every bit of happiness, freedom, and control of her own life.... for her *ADULT SON!* This is a man in his mid 30's who lives with his mother, financially depends on his mother, goes everywhere with her and basically has no meaningful, productive life outside of his mother. I'm NOT blaming his mother for her murder.. ofcourse not.. *THAT* was all Ross's fault. However... I DO believe she created the kind of man he turned out to be. She made him into an entitled, lazy man. Unfortunately, it took her 36 years to see what her son has become and what she gave up because of her son. By that time, the damage was done and it was just too late.

Agree. Their relationship was creepy tbh. Makes me wonder if there was a sexual aspect/obsessed type of thing going on. Twisted case for sure and very sad. RIP Carol.

Sometimes the person hurting you is also the only person who won't EVER leave you. As a victim who loses so many because abuser isolates you, this can be so oddly comforting..to know this person won't ever go away too. I wish she had gotten away once she got stronger. Best wishes to those missing her today. Thank you for doing this story.

@@shavxox Thanks for letting me know! I was second guessing if my approach was considered bullying, but maybe the company’s name is automatically banning comments

Ok, so many KZbinrs who have sponsored bits seem ingenuine but I love how open and honest you are about your experience with therapy.. My therapist just moved and I've been debating seeking another- I think I'll actually check out your link, which like, I never do on youtube. Thanks for your honesty and your videos!

this story is so heartbreaking and i can't understand why the scottish government doesn't do anything. this horrendous person is literally killed his mother and he has all her belongings just because she was blinded with love for her son. that's horrible and unfair. why does the person who KILLED for inheritance have the right to keep it? i bet in some countries that is considered as deliberate murder for inheritance.

📢 SIGN THE PETITION LINKED IN THE DESCRIPTION 📢 I get sometimes people don’t make it all the way to the end of the video, but this petition is so important. I can’t imagine the pain of the families like it wasn’t bad enough. Also imagine being the victim, your killer takes your life and is SOMEHOW legally allowed to take your lives work and possessions.

Yeah, I signed it. I cannot believe that f*cking piece of $#¡+ still owns the property even after killing his mother, & getting incarcerated. That's bull$#¡+!

I signed the petition and shared it !!! Please , everyone share and sign and get this out to as many people as you can !!! There are over half signatures already on there so less than half to go !!! Sign and share for this family and get them some kind of peace in their life !!!! Rip to her and I hope Ross Rots in prison for doing this to his own mother ! She did not deserve this !!!! She may have helped created this monster , but that don’t mean she deserved to die because of it and her family don’t deserve to suffer more and not have anything of hers ! Please let’s get this petition signed and donate if you can as well !!!! Thanks Eleanor for another amazing case !!! Very well done ! Bravo !!!

@@ellienash7723 had to double check bc its been a while since this came out, but its basically just a bad service. their terms said that they cant promise licensed proffessionals, and the app isnt meant for "severe" mental illnesses so it isnt a real substitute for actual therapy.
