Yo Dan. I highly recommend replacing the seal on that 3rd brake light. i can see from the video that its toast... The top portion for SURE. I'd hate to see that nice new interior get soaked. This is coming from 18 years of auto glass experience. I cant even count how many times truck owners came back to shop complaining about a leak after we replaced their glass. A quick diagnosis almost always led us to the third brake light seal. I doubt you'll be able to get JUST the seal. You usually have to buy the whole tail light. But I'd just remove the old foam seal crap with a scraper, and use a thin strip of butyl tape. works like a charm I totally love all your videos man!

I was a car audio installer for many years trick for you on running and taping multiple wires. First put wires in drill and vise twist the wires together by chucking them into drill and spin wires together. Trick when removing from drill hood wires in hand and let them spin back slowly. You will get it! Your skills have came so far from the kid that sharpied his bike back in the day.

Dan, when you're wiring up more lightbars and things of the sort to that one switch Relays will be your best friend. They're not too complicated and are definitely worth the extra few bucks.
@Rellsrides5 жыл бұрын
Caleb Knutson absolutely and they’ll be brighter
@calebknutson90195 жыл бұрын
Probably not a noticeable amount but measurable. They will prevent voltage drop and not very much current has to flow through that switch in the cab to activate the relay, which is a huge plus. One could just jump a fuse in the cab and it would save alot of headache with wiring.

Nice. How badly abused was it for the interior to be like that?
@black07rr5 жыл бұрын
Any rig truck takes abuse from pipeline welding, lots of mud, sand, clay, the areas where pipelines are put in are in the middle of nowhere, some trucks need pulled to location by dozers if it’s been raining or the welds are up the side of a mountain

Hey man, been watching you're videos for a long ass time now and I'm really diggin this truck build. You're doin a really nice job on her.. just a quick tip though, I learned this the hard way. Hopefully you see this and it can save you some time down the road. Keep up the good work and awesome content..

Dan, just a little something for ya in the future. When running multiple wires like for your light bar switch, you can actually take those wires and put them in a drill and spin it. It will give you the tightness of the wires (in a braided form), and will eliminate the need for all that electrical tape.

Dan if you put the 3 wires in the end of a drill and the other end of the wires in a vice and hold it tight and spin the drill the wires will form around eachother nicely not needing any tape!
@stovlsuzuki5 жыл бұрын
Hey dan if i may share some mechanical advice. Over time the glue on the electric tape you used will age and begin to come loose. Especially when it comes temprature changes like heat or cold. A little trick ive found that helps prevent the tape from coming off is on the ends where the tape begins and ends, put some heat shrink or a zip tie around it. That way when the tape ages, it wont start coming off and exposing the wires your trying to protect. Also id personally like to see you find a way to velcro the under-seat leds to the seats instead of just useing the adhesive strips they come with. That way if for some reason you need to pull out the seats again, you can without ruining the leds adhesive.
