Even if you buy cheaper tools every couple months or a couple times a year that don’t last a life time, it would still be cheaper than this lol worst part is I’d love something like this for a tool. 9:19 there’s no way. This has to have started as a joke or bet. It was ridiculous already but a training screwdriver to practice your “tactical screwdriver self defense martial arts moves” with a less lethal screwdriver? This is let’s see how dumb of a product we can sell by putting the word “tactical” in front of it and making it black. 😂 I love the survival and gear community but they’re just making fun of us at this point lol. I was also keeping an open mind thinking oh it has to have some different features like it’s a screwdriver leatherman type thing or something but no it’s literally a screwdriver that you wouldn’t want to use because the grip looks horribly uncomfortable to hold. How is it going to save your life where your EDC knife wouldn’t? It’s also interesting to come up with ways to use it and only come up with two which are using it like a normal screwdriver or using it to pry something. So in other words exactly what a flathead does already, except this does it way worse because how terrible the ergonomics are. These would be my thoughts if I didn’t know it was $325 but knowing that it’s also over $300 that’s insane. I understand buying quality gear, I’ve bought the expensive benchmades before so the price doesn’t bother me as much as it would some people but for what it is, that truly is insane. I cannot see a quality difference to any other flathead justifying that insane of a price especially how infrequently any normal person would need this as opposed to just grabbing one from your car or home or using a screwdriver on your multitool. It’s funny cause a week ago I saw a little pry tool you put on a keychain for $15 and it looks well made (it’s called a rhino bar) but I said to myself, it might be useful but realistically I won’t need it that much to justify the $15, I’m never that far from a screwdriver or something. That was 15 bucks and it still seemed unnecessary 😂 but everyone likes different stuff and has different priorities to what they think is useful. Hopefully it holds up well and people are satisfied with it, you buy what you want. People say you don’t need a truck just get a car but I wouldn’t live without one to each their own.

I own a couple Essie's but had never seen this one and was very impressed with it and bought one off of knife works at $84 with shipping Many would give me a bunch of "down the road" about that but hey my money my choice, that's a hell of a lot better than "my body my choice"! Price aside, i am all for spartan tools, i like the idea, however i see some issues, the handle is way too thin for any real work, i dont see how you can apply any amount of torque, also i see so many missed opportunities with the sheath, it could have had multiple functions, either stand alone or together with the main tool, i.e. as a handle, or a wrench. its a fun tool for sure, and it is easy to make.

What actually might make this tool worth the $200 to $300 dollar price tag is it's corrosion resistance. IF this tool is THAT corrosion resistant, I can see it being very valuable for use in salt water skin diving and snorkeling applications. And a pry tool IS needed for those situations. And for those about to say "just use stainless steel," that material does corrode after prolonged exposure to salt water, and is a fairly soft metal. The strength of a forged steel tool would also be advantageous to divers as well. But you'd better put a lanyard with a bright floatation bead on it! I see this as a very interesting high-quality "niche" tool being made available to civilians as well as the military. I DO think that the pommel should have a philips head on it, in addition to the flat head on the "business end." That would improve it's combat utility (back-handed strike) as well. Just IMHO.
@onesky8647Ай бұрын
Yeah, you can get all metal chisels for a fraction of the price. I can see why people are not impressed considering the price. :) What will they think of next, combat knitting needles, tactical chop sticks? There are other products that are overpriced for the average person, but if you like it and it's worth it to you, go ahead and buy it. I'd rather keep the money for something else.
@tompeltoma8531Ай бұрын

I'd like to see a serious strength test, even Dynamis has not demonstrated their claims. I took the handle off an old flat head screwdriver, as a DIY CFH. I drove it several inches into a stump, and easily bent it over with my foot. It did not return to straight. If I needed to pry with my body weight, 200 lbs, could this take my weight, without bending? How would the tip hold up to stabbing into auto glass or a car's lock? I think Winkler makes these, someone else may do the finish. Is that correct?
