Very smart to include that HEY! BURRIED WIRE HERE tape in your trench. Thinking like a pro
@bduncan131324 ай бұрын
We didn't realize there was a thing until I saw her putting it in the trench a few inches above their wire. Definitely a very smart thing to do and I wish we would have thought of doing that. We have had to replace so many wires and pipes and drainage tile and this product would have avoided some of it.

38:22 when it comes to the yellow charger, you do not want to operate it when inverse on or connected batteries should be disconnected from the inverter so you can use external charger doing so you’ll get overcharge errors. Looks great. If for any reason you have to walk from your home to your new power room, you can probably buy a couple of Blue tooth or WI-FI cameras to see any outputs using a Ipad, cellphone or laptop without running quickly to see what's going on. It will be a good quick helpful way of detecting any issue.

I've been looking at all-inclusive charge/inverters for months now and I thought I had my decision made already for the EG4 6000-XP. After watching this video, I'm now considering the SunGold 10KW unit instead. The specs are comparable, but the price is about the same for an extra 4KW of power. I'd rather push 5KW through a 10KW inverter (50% Capacity) than through a 6KW inverter (84% Capacity). Batteries are my other hurdle to figure out. So many options now - I'm thinking of just biting the bullet and getting the 30KW King Kong battery for $6,400 and calling it a day. Thanks so much for the information on the SunGold inverter.
@ThisOffGridLife4 ай бұрын
One thing to consider is the inverters idle consumption. The 10kw will use more than the 6kw. We are noticing a big the battery usage now that we’re on the 10kw and don’t have the new panels set up yet. The nice thing about the server rack batteries is you can expand over time as funds become available. But that sounds like a really good deal
@Joebanker804 ай бұрын
@@ThisOffGridLife It turns out the King Kong battery is no longer made by "BigBattery", which is a company located in California. I called BigBattery after I wrote my last comment to inquire more about the 30KW battery and talked with a rep. I was informed that the parts company that supplied the King Kong components are selling it now (counterfeit) under the Battery/EVO brand with the same name. Big Battery no longer offers that product. The rep said the EVO battery isn't UL listed. It just sounded really good for an all-in-one 30KW battery with wheels - plug and play. Never-mind that now I guess. A server rack system is a good start for me as well. The only legitimate alternative would be the EG4 PowerPro 14.3KW model for $3,600 (today's price). How many watts idle consumption does the SunGold use?

@PabloP1694 ай бұрын
I would have run cables from the solar panels, before starting the swap over, else you were likely to flatten your new batteries, before you get your panels connected. When are you upgrading the solar panels as well, as people often think that a bigger battery/inverter system is all they need, when the basic requirement is the solar power to exceed what you need to supply power to. So I think that you may have put the "horse before the cart". Yes the higher voltage system, will reduce the voltage drop across some of the cabling and that is good as it means less power may be lost in the cables.
@denniswray4704 ай бұрын
Very interesting I am happy for you with the upgrade.
