Nodes seems to be so much more powerful then layers once you grasp the concept. Thanks for the video.

This is amazing! I was watching your total beginner tutorial with the toast for about half an hour before watching this (and will probably get back to it when I have a bit more time) and I am so glad you have this quick start video that just brings the fundamentals all together, thank you!

This is one of your best! You get right to the stuff, you don’t goof around saying goofy things to be funny but really just distracting, and you provide a very clear explanation in simple terms of what these things are doing. You also had a good plan about how to show all the different functionality. That’s good work. That’s good teaching. Thank you

I just started using Resolve this very day 08/13/2021 (switched from Premier) I have had Resolve 17 downloaded for quite some time but I finally started using it today. Thanks to your videos the learning curve from Premier to Resolve wasn't that steep. So, thanks for your vids.

Great explanation at the simplest possible level for new users. I now understand what the DeltaKeyer does, and I never did before. The Davinci Resolve manual explains what each tool does, but sometimes the manual's explanations are too complicated for new users. Keep up the great work. I love this channel. :-)

Casey: Once again you have made a Magnificent Beginners Fusion Tutorial Thanks, You Almost convinced me to attempt FUSION but not quite. After learning how to create Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound, I sprung for Studio to tackle Dolby Atmos Creation. Maybe after I figure out ATMOS then I'll attempt Fusion. At 78 & retired I no longer have the need to PRODUCE, I can do whatever I please and Learning FUSION, eeh not so much. Still Casey you Present a great tutorial ... Just a little fast for beginners, JMHO. I had to use the 'Back Arrow Key' a lot because things happened so fast, didn't really get to see how you did some things, first time thru. See ya on Discord.

Casey I record my Gameplay in 240 fps can you please tell the optimal render settings to blend 4 frames into 1 frame (so final product is in 60fps) to give it that nice motion blur while exporting in Resolve, I have looked for so many videos but didn't get any solution for it please help. Thank you
@ButchDrumster3 жыл бұрын
Wtf man?! Just export in whatever framerate u want, except never expert 25 or 24 into 30. Thus 6×4 = 24 which means u can export into 30/60/120 or leave it 240. As simple as is. Remember 25 = 50 = 150 etc. 30 = 60 = 120 = 240. Hope this is clear.
@ButchDrumster3 жыл бұрын
U can also use frame blending option.

Hi, I really like your videos and how you explain resolve in a simpler way. Im a new user to da vinci resolve. But I don't understand the part why background node has to be the first node, and not just mediaIN as the first node. Could you please explain it? 🥺🙏🏻 Thank you. 😃
@thekillbreathfamily73713 жыл бұрын
He explained this in another video I saw of his. In simplest terms, the background node sets the Fusion composition size. When he added it in this video, he did not make changes because his project size was the same as his desired Fusion composition size (1080x1920). The Background size could have been manually changed to different size than the project. But if MediaIn was used, and that picture of the car, would have set the Fusion size (3000x4000 or whatever it was-not the desired 1080x1920). From my understanding, structurally, the same nodes and process could have been done but when brought back into the Edit tab and later for Export, I believe the sizing would be way off. I know enough to be dangerous.

When I tried this my delta keyer won't sample the sky. I clicked on eye dropper and hover over the sky but it doesn't not appear. Any idea what might be preventing this?

With the Delta Keyer, is there a way to do something like a power window from the color page to isolate the keyer function to just the upper half of the image?
@zorrothebug3 жыл бұрын
you can stick a mask node (rectangle, circle, polygon, ...) in the blue input (triangle) of the delta keyer to limit the effect to the masked area.
@LetsTalkAboutReaper3 жыл бұрын
@@zorrothebug thanks. Still learning to think "outside the box" in fusion. It's getting there

Hey faris, i have got a question about davinci resolve... How do I easily scroll trhough my video. I always struggle with having to go a few minutes later or something, and then when i am in the edit page i find it annoying to not be able to scroll (for as far as i know) like i can in the cut page... I always try to click on the very end of the visable timeline but that seems to go to another time in the timeline too fast... I hope you understand what i mean with this explanation and i hope you can help me

Hey Casey! Cool video! I have a small question for you. I want to connect the start of a magic beam to a magic wand, and the end of the beam to a person. I saw William Justice's video on tracking, and i did it, but I cant remember how i did it. Please help! Can you please also make an advanced particles tutorial? Thank you!!

would you consider making a tutorial on how to make youtube shorts with davinci resolve? i think that would be really helpful! :) since youtube keeps pushing the short format, i think it would be good for us youtube editors to have that in our repertoire.

They push the short format, because its not a success by its own nature. I'd say Casey please keep the videos how they are.
