The Easiest Homemade All Purpose Cleaner/Disinfectant

There is a difference between cleaning and disinfecting. Cleaning removes dirt, germs and crumbs, while disinfecting kills viruses and bacteria on surfaces. This homemade all purpose cleaner uses alcohol as a disinfectant. Use it to clean to fight the flu, colds and covid and any other virus going around. By using simple ingredients you can buy anywhere this cleaner is cost effective. Buy the items and make many batches in the future.
Recipe:
2 cups purified or distilled water
1 cup 91% Isopropyl alcohol
1 TBSP ammonia
3 drops dish soap

Sandy, for years I have used water, alcohol, couple drops of Dawn in a large spray bottle. I learned this recipe as it is safe on Granite counters. I use this on all surfaces and it is so budget friendly. Thanks for sharing with others. Have a great week ahead.

Yes! That is the beauty of alcohol is it is safe on granite countertops. You are way ahead of me. I wish I had been using this years ago because it smells so much better than the vinegar spray I made a few times that my family said was disgusting. Nobody cares about the smell of this cleaner. It just smells clean.

Remember you are supposed to disinfect/sanitize already clean surfaces. If the spray is just sitting on top of food residue or something stuck on your counter it can’t disinfect the counter because it’s not touching it, instead it’s soaking into the debris

Hello! You can just leave the ammonia out, but ammonia is just a good cleaner in general. It helps break down grease and also cleans glass really well. But since this is such a small amount used in the cleaner, it is just a little boost in the cleaner.

Wood ash is the counter part of baking soda and was used before baking soda to clean with along with soap made from grease or wood ashes - to clean with - If a bot had grease biuild up lie water was added with water and boild in the pot with grease build up and it desolved the grease into soap -
