Love your video's! As an almost 70 year old woman I have done a lot of the same methods you use. I have learned a lot from you about laundry. My cousin and I are great fans of your page. She does cleaning professionally as well. When she doesn't know we turn to your video's! Thank you! We were raised in a family of women that were obsessive with cleaning and disinfecting everything. Twice a year you clean down all walls in the house! I'm older, disabled so that doesn't happen. I n this video you talk about cleaning those marks on walls from people that touch everything like children. Thank you for that!! :) Keep doing what you are doing because even this old girl watches for new things.

I have a schedule for every household task, so I keep up with the cleaning (with not too much build up) and my pet peeve is what I do first…empty every cupboard and drawer, clean it with enzyme cleaner, verify and purge stuff that dates the Roman times 😛 and unneeded stuff gets out of here and finally reorganize if needed and put away until next year…that is what I’m doing right now. Especially this year I’m doing "Swiss Death Cleaning", donating alot of unneeded "stuff". My niece that’s just moving into her first apartment is sooo happy since I pretty much equipped her with about 2/3 of what’s need in the kitchen. So there, that’s what I’m presently attacking.

I love your channel and your expert knowledge on cleaning. I have learned so much from your site. What I don’t understand however is there are so many articles that state vinegar and soap combo is useless as the vinegar cancels out the soap but you recommend this method a lot. Can you discuss this in a video or comment please?

@ oven rack: I have a much much easier way: put the rack in the dishwasher with your daily load (I lay it horizontal above the plates, be sure it does not block anything), take it out after a while(towards the end) when the cleaning cycle is still running, scrub it(it's SO easy then), put it back in the dishwasher so it will be rinsed.That's it :) The racks are as new! :)

We've just gone into autumn here in NZ, so I'm about to start refreshing our winter jackets and blankets, and washing our summer stuff to put away into storage. My all purpose cleaner is 500ml water, 500ml vinegar, and about a teaspoon of dishwash liquid. And I clean everything but the toilet bowl with this, even glass.
@jennyjenkins8778 ай бұрын
I use OxiClean Versatile powder in hot water to soak pillowcases and sheets (around 6 hours is recommended) before washing as usual. I mainly do this with my light cotton sheets before storing them away for the winter to really get all the sweat and oils out.

Separate from my dishes, I put my oven racks into the dishwasher. At another time, I also put the round glass from the microwave to wash with the dishes. This has worked for me over 20 years. I use the same dish tab as you and put the dishwasher on hot.

Re dishwasher pods: my thermal coffee pot was getting really brown inside. I dropped one dishwasher pod inside and filled it with hot/boiling water and let it sit overnight. The inside is like new. Now I doubt you need to let it sit overnight, but I was not getting up in the middle of the night to rinse it out. Happy spring cleaning!

it's autumn here in NZ, but the NEXt big job I want to tackle (except I have sore hands lately, so it could be too challenging right now) is wiping above the curtains, then vacuuming the curtains also. Failing that, I will wipe around all the windows using a spongy handle thing, and paper towels. IN fact in hindsite that first job is too much for me, height wise and hand wise. :)

Ty for this video! Im always interested in making my own cleaning products & can confirm the shower soap buildup recipe is MAGIC!!! I have been using it (w/out essential oil) for years successfully! I do have two questions….first, what brand of essential oils do you recommend for cleaning? I’m not familiar with oils but love a great scent after cleaning and want to incorporate them into recipes. The second question is when soaking the oven grates, would liquid cascade do the same breakdown of buildup and grease? I don’t use pods…mainly because they don’t consistently break down in my dishwasher and I don’t have time to play catch up with dishes. Thank you again for such great ideas.

If you find the vinegar smell too overwhelming try citric acid to clean soap scum. 1/2 tablespoon in a cup of water with 1 tablespoon dishwashing liquid. There is no smell from the citric acid. It works even better than vinegar to remove limescale. I wouldn't use it on surfaces that are not suitable for vinegar either since it might damage those.

Theres a problem with using vinegar on new glass and new bases in showers, they recomment NO acidic(vinegar) content or your warrant is void) not to mention only micro fibre cloth is reccommended also. I use a kind of swiffer cloth which is thick microfibre, [with fingery projections on one side[, and plain detergent, and this works well to preserve the coating on above mentioned surfaces. :)

Jesus is coming back. Are you ready? Have you passed life’s one and most important test of accepting Christ as your Lord and Savior? The bible says not everyone who gets to Heaven and knocks will be able to get into Heaven. But it is he that does the will of my Father. Tomorrow is not guaranteed. Once we get into eternity there is no turning back. We are going to be in the paradise of God, eternal bliss, or eternal condemnation. The bible says in the end those who are not going to Heaven will suffer so much they will seek death and it will not find them. This is the punishment for rejecting Christ as Lord and Savior. Repent today! The day of the Lord is at hand!

Vinegar cancels out the dish soap! It's a pointless thing to add. The vinegar is acidic but when added to dish soap it gets neutralized and therefore ruins the very thing that makes vinegar an effective cleaner.
