That’s so funny because I am making stick of butter rice tomorrow except I brown up a pound of ground beef and sauté some onions, garlic and mushrooms with it and mix it in the rice before I bake it. After the rice cooks I top it with Swiss cheese and fried onions and pop it back in the oven for another 10 or so minutes until the cheese melts and the onions get a little crispier. We call it French onion casserole and it so delicious and easy. I usually make some asparagus or green beans on the side and rolls or crusty bread. The guys become members of the clean plate club, even the picky adult one 🤣 and I love it for a lazy Sunday meal

I make the rice dish but I don’t use the butter to cut down on the fat and it still turns out great! I also like to add various frozen veggies to it to make it like a meatless meal. I’m definitely going to try those green beans. Maybe my finicky six year old will even eat them since they have cheese.

You won me over with these veggie sides. When I met my husband almost 26yrs ago his veggie approved list pretty much consisted of potatoes & corn😕. Now his list is way to long to list here. How do you do your canned crockpot potatoes, I’m sure the time is different?

I just do them on the stove. I have added a jar to some fresh in the crockpot because I didn’t have enough fresh. But for just all canned. I rinse, add to fresh water. Boil for 10-15 minutes. Drain and mash! Add your butter, dairy and seasonings ❤️

I’m sure you could. Most recipes for homemade honey buns looks like it’s a sweeter dough, but I don’t think that would matter too much. Very similar to a cinnamon roll.
