Hey Kev, I've been watching your videos since i found Blender (among some others). But when i seen your video about being burned out, i thought to myself..... "man... no way..." So i may have one thing to maybe help with the burn out. This is only an opinion and may not go very far, but i have to think about the impact my work makes on the end user.... in my case it is abused and neglected children. See i am in an animation ministry. But, like I referred to, i am pretty new aaand a one person gig. So it will take a very long time to finish even a short. So i guess my point to this comment is bro keep going there are so many more people that you impact and may never know who they are. By the way Kev.... thanks man!

Only question...I want the transparency (for reasons) but do not want to see the tunnel down the line showing through the part of the tunnel I'm actually in (17:11). How do I achieve that?
@KevBinge4 жыл бұрын
You can create another tunnel on top of everything and just give it a solid matte black shader, would that help? Thanks!!
@traviscecil39034 жыл бұрын
@@KevBinge No. I want to see outside the tunnel. Basically, if the light is coming through the tunnel once (outside) I want transparency. If the light is coming directly from sections of the tunnel and going through the tunnel again I want that part to not show at all. At 17:11, you can see upcoming sections of the tunnel in the upper right through the tunnel walls. I don't want that. Sorry I can't explain better.
@KevBinge4 жыл бұрын
Ahhh... Thanks for the clarification. A really quick way to do that would be to add in geometry with a dark or matte shader around those parts of the tunnel. If it’s tight enough it won’t obscure the transparency in other areas. You could also try adding another tunnel on top with transparency but having the transparency controlled with a layer weight node or fresnel based in glancing angle. That’s a bit tricky but could work too.
@hinderance40604 жыл бұрын

@KevBinge17 күн бұрын
Thanks. Infinite, you’d just have to make sure the start and end are at the same point look-wise. It would need to be a repeating texture map. You wouldn’t even need to move the camera, just move the texture position.
