I’m perdy competitive Heath but you got me on this that’s way faster than the way I was making it . Finding it already dryed for that kinda $ is one heck of a score . I’m still sitting on a few full cords of kindling it definitely didn’t sell very good for us . The amount of profit in kindling is crazy just gota have a good market to sell it . Great video you guys .

I do this same thing. If you use a rachet strap around the wood in a few spots it holds the wood together and you don't get it jumping around as much and alot safer.

HWM, what if you throw a couple ratchet straps around your bundle before you cut it up with a chainsaw. It might save your saw from kicking you in the face. Great video, TY for sharing. Dave D from Maine.

Knowing that comes off are sawmill. Having it bark free, dry, and around the size of a 1x2 is very key to the equation. Of helping turn a decent profit. . The slabs off are mill are largely the sap wood and bark, and its amazingly heavy stuff. The water content of heart versus sap wood in fir is very big. . We use a ol crawler/loader to move the bundles as they can be several ton each, when its longer material. 16 foot and longer we cut'em in half, as a 16 bundle has the back end very light of the ol loader. . We put 2 bands around each bundle, about 20" apart from each other, so that a person can cut it from each end. And the last cut has a band on each side, to control the wood as much as possible.
@hardworkingmanoutdoors2 ай бұрын
Thanks, I’m definitely going to band them next time.

That is a ton of kindling in no time. I was just thinking if there was some way that you could cut that kindling over the top of an open IBC bladder. That way it’ll all fall into one organized container. Plus, you’ll save a lot of time by not having to pick it up off the ground.

That made a lot of kindling fast. I don't think you got hurt at $10 a bundle. That is cheap and easy kindling as long as you have a tractor and grapple. Phil cuts his kindling 12" and it fits in the bag easier

Personally if I have my choice making kindling I rather go 12 inches.. alot of times I cut a 16 inch round in half so 8 inches is good kindling. That stuff I'd probably at least go 12 to fit the bags better when it's stuffed tight. As always no offense just my observations and experiences...
