Thanks Kirk. I watched your video today. Went to play and shot an 81. Personal best. Resulted in many tap ins and gimme’s! Your method is A1 plus primo! Thanks for your videos and this one in particular!

Great drills..I’ve been working on this in my lessons..the breakdown of the hands and follow thru extremely helpful in improving this shot for me. BIG thanks.

Ball back of stance? Is it because of the single plane grip and swing? I watched a bunch of chipping videos, they had middle of stance. Is it because two different swings? Can you show chipping from dead pan lies, hard compact ground? Thank you , I'm learning a lot from you.

For a flatter chip play the ball back, if you want a higher shot more from the middle. I have a lot of short game videos on my channel from various lies.

From that close an 8 iron or whatever lower lofted club would be a risky shot, your club of choice worked great. Thank you
@Setup4Impact5 жыл бұрын
Exactly...you do not want to take a club that makes you think you have to be careful to not hit it too far. Better to take a club that allows you to make a more aggressive swing.

When I try this with the single plane setup (lead arm stragiht), my lie angle becomes too flat as I stand closer to the ball. Is this expected?
@Setup4Impact Жыл бұрын
For chip shots there is no problem if the toe is a bit down as we just scrape the ground after impact.
@nmj25211 Жыл бұрын
@@Setup4Impact thanks! This is helpful. So I shouldn't stand further away in an attempt to have a flatten lie on the ground?

What do you think about using a conventional chipping setup while using a one-plane setup for irons/driver? have found this works well for me but curious what your thoughts are? It seems like conventional chipping is already single-plane anyway right?
@Setup4Impact Жыл бұрын
Hi Nate, I would say that most good players already setup on their impact plane for chipping. So I use the same concept for everything.

Kirk how do u deal with the Toe of the club and heel being up with the vertical swing....? i have been following your suggestions with decent success for the full shot... still tentative around the green.... Thanks for your tips. Vince

Just make sure that the clubface is square to target, or very slightly closed. Also make sure you can swing toward the intended target.

Hi Kirk, Why is it very important to not have the end of the club point back to the body?
@Setup4Impact5 жыл бұрын
That would indicate active use of the hands with the clubhead passing the grip too early. This makes the clubface rotate, ruins the path, and causes both fat and thin shots.

Notice how his belt buckle follows the club and faces the target at the follow thru. Ignore this at your peril.
