You have to click on the three layers on the upper right side. There should be something like "show options". Click on that and you'll find the other options.

Try this. Window > Stroke. In the pop up window, look to the upper right, there are 3 lines, click it > Show options. This should expand the window to show everything.

Give it a stroke width (change from no thickness to, say, 1 pt.) and click the little up/down arrows to the left of the word Stroke on the palette tab to change the number of visible options.

when I select the arrow with the direct select tool, it only moves the whole thing horizontally, it won't let me chose the inividual points to move the direction...

Is it possible to add a black outline or 'stroke' to the arrow? For example, I'd like a red arrow with a black outline/stroke around it. Outline Fx don't seem to work?

Stroke menu is only giving me the option make the line thicker. It calls it "weight" for some reason. It's weirder since you can do that in the properties menu anyway.

1.) Are you sure you have the lines selected? And 2.) are you sure the size isn't so small that it's not visible?
