The one thing I realized that I've never heard anyone mention, is that the "size", in the grain section, doesn't JUST increase the size of the grain but also appears to make the image softer the way that Dehancer's grain "resolution" slider. It DEFINITELY gives the appearance of that lower-res 35mm look.

Yes it definitely does you’re right! I did notice that but never really thought of it in that way. I sometimes think large grain & -4 sharpness is a little TOO soft too, so I’ll have a bit of an experiment with this for future film recipes and stuff :) Thanks for watching!

Thank you :) yes definitely! I love the look of classic chrome its worth noting that there is actually a way to get the classic negative profile (and nostalgic negative too) on the older camera files in Lightroom, I cant remember how its done but if you do a google search im sure it'll come up!

thank you! I almost always shoot using my Point And Shoot recipe as the base, this gives me a good starting point (pre-shifted white balance, classic negative) and my edit style usually matches the recipe so I just go with that while shooting. Theres a video with all settings on my channel!

Thanks man! For portraits I usually either edit the raws with this preset and then adjust the skin tones manually using HSL sliders in LR, or i use my point and shoot recipe (I have a video on that!) and overexpose slightly

Just used the HSL sliders to make the orange skin tones more natural and then save it as a "Portrait" version of the preset and it's a great starting point anytime I care about skin tones. Looks it's quite universal then. Thanks again!@@EddyMaynard

Usually shoot with my point and shoot recipe yeah! The white balance shift on that recipe makes for a nice starting point with the raws :)

Hi this is a newbie question hehe Which is better for editing raw files for my Xh2s? Lightroom Classic, Capture one or X Raw Studio

Totally depends on what you want to get from the files, LR and C1 are better in the way that theres WAY more options and flexiblilty, x raw studio will give you a better 'fujifilm recipe' kind of look but isnt very flexible at all and is much slower and clunky. My reccomendation would be Lightroom.

The same method as this but just be aware of skin tones and prioritise those over everything else. Pressing Y while in the develop tab opens up a comparison to the original shot and (as long as you had your white balance correct when shooting) this will give you a great reference for skin tones

@@_poisun it will affect your white balance (this can be changed though, it will just use the recipe WB as the ‘starting point’ for the raw file), it will affect your dynamic range depending on the DR setting on the camera, and if you have your Lightroom set to default to the film simulation that was used when shooting, it will change the ‘picture profile’ (just above where your white balance tools are in LR) to match the one on the camera, such as classic chrome, astia, etc… but again like white balance - this can be changed. As far as I’m aware only recipe setting that affects the raws that CANT be changed in post is the DR value

Looked and searched everywhere yet nothing pops up. When I try to reinstall the preset it says “ unable to import presets, all items were already imported”

Yes you add the preset through lightroom (the + above the preset section) and then just apply it to fuji raws. Itll only work with fuji files though since it uses classic chrome profile (part of the preset)

So wait, you shoot raw so you have the colour range and then from there you access the film sim profiles and can edit a film sim base in lr with a raw image? So you don't actually shoot jpegs.

Just checked and the Dropbox link still definitely works :) you need a camera that can shoot with classic negative though, it won’t work if your camera doesn’t have that sim
