I think this video perfectly summarizes the main weakness of the K/D focused playstyle. You can score a shit ton of points and get a lot of kills, but you ultimately aren’t going to be helping your team much. Sure, it might work if you’re playing defense and want to be a VIP, but it definitely doesn’t help your team attack and defend objectives much. With this playstyle, whether on offense or defense, you’re essentially a skirmisher that stays at the fringes of the map and the margins of team fights, only ducking in to pick off stragglers. It’s a necessary playstyle if you’re playing archer or Ambusher, but it’s not particularly effective at getting the objective done. In your game here, you ultimately scored very well, but your team still lost the game, and you didn’t top frag. The best way to stay at the top is ultimately, difficult as it is, learning to play in careful coordination on the objective with your teammates during team fights, as well as being skilled enough to consistently win 1vX. It does take some practice, but I find that being able to 1vX successfully, or even just survive for a while against a group, can be tremendously helpful. Not to mention, lots of objectives give shitloads of point. Sometimes, I’ll deliberately take a 1vX against all or most of a spawn wave, and even if I don’t get a kill, I can keep them on the ropes for 20-30 seconds while my teammates either get them from behind, or can pile themselves onto the objective while I draw the enemy away from it, since most chiv players have no situational awareness and can easily be distracted and pulled off of objectives by the prospect of an “easy” kill. 1vX’ing is hard, but it can be done, and it mostly depends on footwork and target switching. The footwork is the hardest part to learn, because it involves looking at where the enemy is and predicting where the enemies you’re fighting are going to try to position themselves to get around you. For any player, being surrounded means that you’re fucked on 9/10 occasions, so you can’t let that happen. You have to keep dodging, and dodging in weird, unpredictable ways that still put you away from the enemy instead of just dodging backwards. It’s difficult, but can be accomplished with practice. On the other hand, the actual hitting part of 1vX is easy. Again, since most Chiv players lack situational awareness and will hit their own teammates more than the enemy during Xv1, target switching to get hits is easy. You let them feed you easy slash counters, maybe an overhead counter from time to time, and when you counter, redirect your counter-strike to a player other than the one that just tried to hit you. Counter-feints are great for this; one common move I do is counter one guy’s slash, feint into a heavy overhead, and simultaneously turn left or right and down to redirect the overhead to a different guy while also looking down to accel. 9/10 times, it’s an absolute noob grinder, and I have won up to 1v6 on a hotly contested objective using target switching. Much harder but ultimately more consistent and rewarding playstyle that usually contributes more to the objective, and often results in an equivalent and sometimes higher score to the roaming slayer playstyle. None of this is to say I dislike the roaming slayer; I think it’s a great playstyle for noobs to pick up so they can go on a kill streak and not die every 5 seconds due to bad positioning and teamfighting, I also use it to sometimes good effect when I play Ambusher. But, it also has clear limitations with respect to objectives and team play, and I know that lots of players will get pissed when they see that the guy on top of the board, who should have led the team to victory, was just farming kills and you lose the game.

I like this comment. I'm a noob aspiring to this style of play. I prefer playing to the objective over wandering around looking for easy targets. I die a lot, but I've won a couple of 1vXs when I've kept my cool. It's not like I wasn't getting blindsided when I was just looking for easy kills anyway. I also sometimes pick a fight with an obviously better player. It's like martial arts, I learn more from sparring a guy who can kick my ass than an easy opponent.

Basically comes down to not egoing and not playing like you never slept and running into 10 enemies. Intelligent play always makes every game easier. Very good video, something I love about this game is the tactical style of play going and 2v1 people, helping your team stabbing someone in the back. Picking off kills. Playing archer correctly too and supporting your team. This game is a really good game, probably one of the most enjoyable games for me in recent times. Never have I felt sour playing this game.

I love 1vs2 situation which I win 3 out of 4 times and this is the most fun for me in this game. Also playing this style is not most efficient objective wise. I prefer wining the game over taking top places and the thing is if you want to play objective you have to sacrifice yourself quite a lot. Liked and subscribed!
@Nuggz19 ай бұрын
You are absolutely correct. I also don't find this style particularly fun either. I just want to give those who don't experience the top of the score board an easy way to get there if they haven't thought of playing this way before. It is not the best for winning on the obj and taking the win as you can see in the gameplay
@harrycelentano22066 ай бұрын
Good info. I use the same greatsword and I found that it actually is much more difficult to use than say a smaller more agile weapon. It's just way more impressive. I'm going to get better with it so I can dominate from a distance.
@JeffCaseyTV8 ай бұрын
This is a good play style that I definitely use most of the time. There are some issues; such as when too many people play like this. That’s when you get 6 allies taking half of each other’s health in the back lines trying to kill 1 over extended enemy. Also, this play style just doesn’t work in some chokepoint sections like the last 2 objectives in rudhelm when both teams are funneled into a smaller space.
@Nuggz18 ай бұрын
It's smart to change up your style based on the situation. If everyone played like this there would be nobody to push the obj. But if you get really good at quickly ending the out of position enemies then it gives the team less distractions and they will hopefully move towards the obj

@casey83788 ай бұрын
@Nuggz1 I'd call it the chivalrous playstyle. Fighting with chivalry while scoring high is much harder but also rewarding because that's where I end up finding the funniest situations and have fun encounters with other chivalrous players. The devs knew what they were doing when they chose the name. I'm afraid some players will never experience it though because the ego or competitive nature will never let them risk scoring low or having a bad k/d ratio
@Nuggz18 ай бұрын
@casey8378 I think that honor doesn't play a huge role in team objective. If you're on defense it's honorable to play on the objective and on attack it's honorable to not feed the enemy by running in without help. It's a team game after all and that's kinda how I look at it.

Idk if theres something im missing but its the only game that really doesnt seem balanced now. Can make you livid when you know you shouldnt have died in a 3v3 lol

FIGHT SKILLED PLAYERS, guides can only give you information but cannot help outright with improving skills and tactics. Giving your all when you’re up against a skilled opponent will quickly show you the right and wrongs ways to fight while also showing that blocking is for life saving and counters are your bread n butter to surviving and dealing with multiple opponents and understanding the power of feinting.

Correct! You do need to fight skilled players to get mechanically better at the game. But you need to use your eyes and ears to get better at positioning. This is mainly a positioning guide for the people who don't understand that running into a group of 5 enemies is bad.

The community for this game is disgusting
@joshgray8377Ай бұрын
@@tylerb2644 unfortunately this is what happens when the game becomes left to stagnant. I’ve seen it happen in battlefront 2. You get both sides of the spectrum. Lots of the players get stuck fighting high level players who then improve further off each other further increasing the skill ceiling, which can be both good and bad. It leads to more competitive players and so on and so forth until people are overly competitive.
@forild_gaming21578 ай бұрын
What's the point of getting kills if that doesn't improve your fighting skill at all? You're not gonna learn to fight but stabbing people in their back, seems like a waste. Recently started playing and seems like the custom servers with FFA duels only is the best thing this game has to offer imho
@Nuggz18 ай бұрын
There are many fighting skills, many of my videos have a focus on positioning tactics because being able to make good decisions is the most sure way to get high scores. Anybody can train mechanical skills in a dual server.

It's a playstyle, not my playstyle. A good player knows that playstyles need to change based on the situation at hand. This playstyle won't win games but it will help you to stop dieing and will help to learn positioning.

You don't have to use this shameless kill stealing tactic to top the scoreboard just saying. You will never get better that way. And there are plenty of other weapons that are great for TO if not better than the greatsword. I see this video is more catered towards people who suck ass at the game so that's fair. But if you're new to the game take this advice as a grain of salt.
@Nuggz18 ай бұрын
Correct this guide is catered to people who are struggling. People get frustrated running into a group of enemies for 500 hours waiting for the skill to come. Good positioning is key to TO. And this can be used with any weapon not just GS
