Hell’s Canyon. There's tons of stuff to do here including fishing, jet boat tours, hunting, hiking, camping, kayaking, and rafting. But this place is no joke. It’s not called Hell’s Canyon because it’s all butterflies and roses. It’s hot, it’s rugged, and it’s huge. There are plenty of outfitters you can book trips through. But if you’re looking to explore on your own, we’re here to give you some tips and insight into how the hell you get around this place. Pun intended.

This video was not sponsored by Hell's Canyon Adventures, we found them through researching this trip. But they were super helpful and after using them we definitely recommend them for your jet boat needs. If you want to book Sheep Creek Ranch they are the company that you do that through.

Ya I think we're doing that on the channel again this spring with an extended multi day back pack thru there. We didn't explore enough on this trip.

I went there hunting chuckers yesterday with my dad and because of all the snow we kept slipping all over because we got off the road in just a random spot. It was fun but it's a long drive lol

Early spring is best

Yes early spring. April, May, and we made the hike at the end of June. It got hot but not too bad. By July you should think about rafting instead of hiking. Elevation while hiking in hells canyon usually is 5500 to 7900 feet. You still have time!

What level of hiking would you consider this? I love hiking and being outside and sleeping in a tent, practicing survival skills and just taking in the beauty. Unfortunately I was seriously injured and had to relearn to walk. I can do alright-not going to be carrying a combat load 50 miles for time for a badge or anything like that... unless I absolutely have too, but I can carry a ruck and move at a much slower pace than I used too. I can’t move my toes or lift my foot up, but can still get around.

Hey Matt. Sorry to hear about your injury that's a real bummer mate. I would classify this hike as difficult and could see you running into problems at a spot like "suicide point." If I were you and I wanted to do Hells Canyon I would call Hells Canyon Adventures 800-422-3568 and schedule a jet boat to pick you up, take you into Hells Canyon and drop you at your campsite, Sheep Creek, or Kirkwood Ranch there are loads of spots. Do some day hiking around your campsite. And when you scheduled the jet boat to take you into Hells Canyon, schedule them to come get you out as well. That way you can stay in the canyon and do some camping and hike around, but wont have to rely on your legs to get you out. I think that would be the safest thing.

Haha, every era ends! Chad's still here and we still have a business together and he'll show up from time to time. He just has zero desire to be a youtuber and travel 22 weeks out of the year.
