Do you have a favorite color that doesn't "match the hatch"?
@SteveRogersOutdoorsАй бұрын
Really great explanation on the full meaning of matching the hatch! Well presented.

Thanks so much! I was stuck for years thinking the good colors should work anywhere I fished. Lots of headaches and skunks later, I started to shift what I thought I knew.

I always try to use the right color in the right areas. I feel like it helps me get a few more bites.
@LowBrowFishingАй бұрын
Using colors as a part of the process and not the entire thing can lead to many more bites!

You gave me a lot to think about with this one. The bass expecting to see colors in certain places makes a lot of sense.

Thanks! I'm happy you liked it!

Thanks LowBrow for the tip on color choices 👍🏻🎣

I got to say my favorite color is the June Bug color

White grubs work best around my dock. But I guess that makes sense given what you said.
@LowBrowFishingАй бұрын
There are probably thousands of little white bait fish under that dock.

I’ve had a go to since doing tournaments back in the late 90s. Purple/ blue fleck ribbed, 4.5 inch, curl tailed worm. Texas rigged or Carolina rigged. Slow or deadsticked.
@LowBrowFishingАй бұрын
Those old Culprit worms still work great!

Standing out and having good contrast is important. But I totally agree that colors are situational. Just because a bass can see it, doesn't mean it will have any interest in it.
@LowBrowFishingАй бұрын
Exactly!
@matthall8378Ай бұрын
A bubblegum or plum trick worm are some weird colors that I have done pretty well with. If the waters clear I usually go with natural like green pumpkin or something like that. If that dont work I will try the unnatural colors. If its muddy I will use black and junebug type colors. Hard baits I follow the same logic.

Having a plan for your color choices is a great way to do it!

My favorite go to color is redshad.
@LowBrowFishingАй бұрын
Red can be very appealing to bass!

The action of the lure attracts the fish. The color of the lure attracts the fisherman.

Anytime thanks for all the info!

Purple is a great color that doesn't seem to match anything in the water. Maybe it looks like a bug or something.
@LowBrowFishingАй бұрын
Purple is another great color that it doesn't make sense for the bass to like, but the do! Who knows why? Maybe it does resemble a bug, or a snake, or even a worm.
@skeeterjones535Ай бұрын
I think junebug looks like all sorts of bugs. That's probably why it's one of the best colors.
@LowBrowFishingАй бұрын
Junebug is one of my favorite colors for plastics!
@nashguy2814Ай бұрын
Colors irrelevant since bass are color blind for the most part. I think they can only see the reds and green if I'm not mistaken.
@LowBrowFishingАй бұрын
They see in shades of red, green, white, and black. So they still see a wide array of colors, just not as much of a palette as you or I.
