After 6 days of hiking all over Norway, I decided to finish my trip with the famous Trolltunga hike. I arrived in Tyssedal late at night, after driving all the way down from Besseggen. To beat the crowds of tourists flocking to the Trolltunga, I got up at 4am and made my way to the Skjeggedal parking lot. I started my hike around the lake around 5am, taking the route that would lead me to the start of the via ferrata. Normally, you do this by bike. Since I was early, I didn't meet anyone until I finished the via ferrata around 7am and made my way to Trolltunga, arriving at 8am. Enough time to take pictures, film, and let the incredible scenery take its toll on me.
I then continued on to Preikestolen (not the one in Songesand), which I found completely empty despite its proximity to Trolltunga. From there I hiked to Nibbenuten, Langavassbui, climbed Einseten (1'446m), hiked past Mosdalsvatnet and reached the parking lot again around 5pm. All in all, it was a very long and exhausting hike, but also one of my most beautiful experiences so far. The combination of via ferrata, the thrill of standing on the troll tongue, and finally the beauty of the untouched wilderness on the way around Ringedalsvatnet was really something special.

I was just there last week. Most people start the hike in the morning around 7am, and it generally takes around 4 hours each way. So since he got there so early that's probably why there's nobody else. I've heard of people waiting over an hour in line just to get a picture on the "tongue".

As always beautiful views with those unreal sheets of ice and unusual rock formations, specially that small balancing the big one.This time an out of context fleeting thought came to mind , " Why is Elon Musk so keen on going to Mars?" We already have such beautiful areas here on earth itself. On second thoughts. NO, it will spoil it's unique PRISTINE beauty.
