Hey, no Ferrari fan here but you sure the beeping at the start isn't the seat belt warning? You're supposed to put it on before you start the car, so most cars bong unless you have it on before you start. Some have software hacks to get around that (OBD II stuff) but it's not necessarily across the board. The bongs in this seem irritating so the complaint is warranted on that part, but ultimately you're probably hearing bongs because you're not following what should've been your entry level driving class instructions: get everything setup before you start the ignition.

@@___echo___ Before I give my idea about the mechanical reasons, I'll note that every automotive journalist has said this time and time again for every one of these hybrid supercars, they have no steering feel, perhaps with the exception of the holy trinity. But yes to the SF90, the Artura, the NSX, and the 296GTB. I think the reason is that the electric motors are connected to the front wheels, one motor to each wheel so that torque vectoring is possible. The problem with doing this is that if you tuned the steering rack to be responsive you'd feel the wheel yanking itself out of your hands every time the torque vectoring engaged while going around a corner, so they have to essentially have the steering be overly boosted to the point where it's completely numb and doesn't react to what the front wheels are actually doing, in the same way that a stick on a game controller doesn't react to what your character in the game, there's no feedback.

Unreal that phone cameras look this good, simply impressive

It looks good but is still miles away from proper cameras. Just won’t matter during casual use like this.

Personally. I’m way more interested in plug-in hybrids than EVs. Not all are good, of course, but I’ve seen some awesome ones! They feel way more practical for the majority of use cases than a full EV. Obviously there’s nothing practical about THIS hybrid, since it’s a Ferrari and they don’t make practical anything… but it’s the same idea. We need more cars like that. This car looks awesome. I wouldn’t buy one (if I could, I mean, because I can’t) mainly because I’d be afraid to park it anywhere but also because those stupid capacitive buttons are so much less safe and more obnoxious. Capacitive buttons are not part of the 20% or so of a Tesla that’s worthy of copying, but rather the 80% that’s terrible.

The fact that the engine just ceases when you hit the electric mode is just hilarious to me 😂

I'm hoping that rotary engines might come back with these hybrid performance cars. They are super small and light while still producing good power, which is perfect for hybrids giving more space for batteries and motors while still keeping the weight down. And of course you also get the amazing exhaust sound
@saftschubse95752 жыл бұрын
And they have so incredibly Bad emissions that you can't make them for the streets

@@saftschubse9575 the rx8 is street legal and is NA and also not a hybrid. It’s definitely possible
@saftschubse95752 жыл бұрын
@@GTXgb-gt8lz It seems that you don't know anything about emission regulations. The rx8 is really old and has much easier emission regulations. Euro6 is much Harder and euro7 will be insanly more strict
@GTXgb-gt8lz2 жыл бұрын
@@saftschubse9575 you're right I don't know shit about emission regulations, especially not in countries other than the US. Isn't mazda putting a rotary in the mx30 though? I know the mx30 is far from a sports car but maybe if it works well they will stick the hybrid rotary setup in a sportier car
@saftschubse95752 жыл бұрын
@@GTXgb-gt8lz Yes but it is not relased yet and it would just be a range extender with 15 kw of power. Such a tiny motor whiche can ne perfectly optimised for a constant rpm has much less emissions than a 20 Times more powerfull engine which has to be responsive and work are different rpms. Sorry for beeing a bit offensive in my Last reply. I Just don't think that a Rotary engine has a Future expecially because combustion engines already have No Future.

True, the Tesla is an insane drag race car and not as agile on a track like Willow Springs or Laguna Seca, but it not designed to be. Like you said, it's a 4 door sedan designed as a family car for daily driving. And it's amazing that it can keep up with full-on sports cars at all. The Tesla Plaid did amazing at the Nurbergring and at Willow Springs for such a heavy sedan. Let's see how the Tesla Roadster does next year.

Me when I heard about the tiny range of the electric motor: "What the hell is that even for?!" Me after I hear MKB explain the residential pull in/out reason: "Alright cool. I hate those loud ass engine noises, so this is a wonderful compromise, but I really hope people use it for that, because if it's not used, then it's pointless"
@denisrubin3942 жыл бұрын
Actually, the point is that it gives you the instant high torque off the line that a gas engine can't produce until its revs get up into its power band. Without that innovation, even the most powerful sportscar would get embarrassed by an ordinary Tesla.
