I'm in Oregon and they have found a way to skip over the laws by letting you purchase a "cow share" or a "farm share" meaning you"own" part of the farm and pay monthly for the upkeep and maintenance and in return receive some of the farms bounty... It's very silly and you can't simply purchase a gallon of milk... Most shares are one gallon per week for $100 a month!! That's an EXPENSIVE gallon of milk at $25 and most of us cannot afford that 😢

Can't even have a backyard chicken where I am without forking our $200 to see if my house is in an area where it's allowed and then another currently unknown amount after the coop is built (if I qualify) to make sure it's properly done. My children were older when I started waking up to these things. One day after having explained to them about ppl moving into cities and bringing the cows in warehouse and the sicknesses this caused, we visited the Dutchhaus in downtown Spokane WA. That evening during a tour we were told that when they went to replace the flooring and riped up the subflooring they found petrified cow manure. That was the day my kids decided I wasn't batty. My oldest now raises rabbits for meat and pelt. These rabbit holes change lives.

This is about 1 of my favorite videos you have ever done, I had moved to Florida ,and while watching your video ,I found a farm that is going to be calving in Feb so she told me to call her back Feb 14th and we will see where we can go to from there, I found a beef farm, the entire family does carnivore, so they have very good meat. So my next adventure ,when I lived in Pennsylvania I went from Amish farm to Amish farm and that's how I grocery shopped every Friday! And I had a deal with 1 farm where I would print out all their CSS orders list and I could get whatever I wanted from their farm, I mostly got milk ,kvass many kinds, things I couldn't get elsewhere. They taught me so much from their farm. Don't like the puppy mills they all seem to have but ,other than that loved dealing an working with them!I hope you will keep teaching people how to do more and more of this home stuff because we are going to have to know how to eventually ,and the more alliances we make now the better, while things are good.I have to travel alot further here in Fla to get the farm products I want ,but for my healthier worth it. I have Pancreatic Cancer, which had shrunk to a 1 from a 2, and thank God almighty had not metastasised. I pray every day it will not and will stay shrunk, and one day God will remove it all together! Please keep teaching people how things were done before all the ultra wealthy decided to cull the herds of humans. Thank you for showing all these things you have been showing it's not about stuff it's about health and vitality, and getting rid of all cancer causing things from our homes may I suggest watch cultivateelevate on you tube and they have website. Like we heard a while back from a famous politician, "We choose truth over facts." "Truth" doesnt always mean the Biblical definition of such. When money, corrupt power, and government gets involved, "truth" becomes whatever they say it is; at least that is what they try to pedal to the masses. One of my favorite quotes I learned in college says, “Truth is what your contemporaries let you get away with saying.” (Richard Rorty) Look at a source's contemporaries before you believe them. I Corinthiand 15:33 tells us that bad company corrupts. It's a no brainer.

Hi Steph, once again nailed it, loved this video. I had seen the raw milk "theory" several years ago; Hmmm interesting isn't it. I've been fortunate enough to find a local Creamery that will sale raw milk products to me. They sale organic pasteurized milk products to local stores which they deliver to. And, lucky for me go right by my little homestead. So I get my organic raw milk, cream, butter and whatever else my heart desires delivered right to my door. I'm so grateful for that. I do believe that whatever I choose to put in my body should be my choice, period. We are currently looking for more land so we can expand our homestead. With such a knowledgeable homesteader as yourself, I feel fully confident that I will one day reach that goal of owning my own milk cow. What a wealth of information and knowledge you are. I do feel that most of this ridiculous & craziness will get better. And things are definitely shaping up with President Trump in charge. Hopefully my state will get on this and allow "We The People" to decide what is best for our bodies. Keep it up Lady, you are doing a fantastic job; educating, informing and just sharing the truth. I often hear about the over-pop of society and thus the need to de-pop... but when you actually think about it and do the math you quickly realize that it's all not true. Here is a math visualization of what I'm talking about... If you take each individual person on the planet ... not families, but individual person, which wouldn't be realistic as babies and children can't take care of themselves, but this is the math and proves the point even more... if you take each individual person on the planet and give them each half an acre of land, which is more than enough to live and grow your own food... you could fit the entire current population of the planet on HALF of the island of Australia. Leaving the ENTIRE rest of the planet open and empty. So when someone says to you that the earth is over-pop you can just laugh in their face!

I don’t actually know how long our food would last but probably more than a month…we’d have to go without dairy and eggs after a couple weeks, though…but I keep stock and buy my perishables & whatever were low on every two weeks. I wish I could have chickens and a milk cow, but our town has strict ordinances. 5 dozen eggs every two weeks sure would be nice to home grow. lol

Hi Steph, hoping you can help me get my confidence back up with raw milk. I so much want to be drinking raw milk for the numerous health benefits, however I’m scared to do so again. Back when I was 4 months postpartum, I got incredibly sick from raw milk for over 10 days and nearly had to be hospitalized. I couldn’t care for my family or children and couldn’t get out of bed. Plus I was breastfeeding my infant. And yes I am sure it was the raw milk because my local farm had a known outbreak, and they were shut down for several months by public health for extensive cleaning and testing. Plus my family ate all of the same things except I was the only one who drank the milk, and I was the only one who got sick. I’ve even read in Keeping A Family Cow that it is almost inevitable that small scale farmers selling raw milk will have issues with contamination of equipment or facilities, and that the only truly safe way is to drink milk straight from a cow (which I do not have access to). I so much want to drink raw milk but can’t afford to be sidelined again from sickness. Do you have any suggestions for any of us who don’t have the ability to have our own cow? Or a recommendation for a type of milk that is next to raw milk in quality but just less of a risk? And for everyone reading, please don’t get scared and think my situation is the norm!! I’m sure it’s not!!!! I’m a huge raw milk supporter!

thank you for this! ❤ i've been making raw milk kefir for a while but recently began noticing a super cheesy flavor that i didn't love. i get milk from two different farmers and they seem to ferment differently (which i think is interesting and beautiful), so i thought this milk had maybe a stronger bacterial profile or something (??), so i started fermenting my kefir in the fridge to slow down the natural clabbering. but i haven't had tasty kefir since. after seeing this i think i'll try room-temp again and see how it goes. (I also often double-ferment with a banana or a date, but although it's a more pleasant flavor it's still kind of off.) has anyone else experienced anything like that?

There's some support that shows A2 raw milk can be easily digested for people who have issues with milk. That being said, there are people who can't tolerate A2 cow's dairy well either. Goat and sheep's milk both are naturally lactose free, so if you have access to either of those and A2 raw cow's dairy doesn't work for you, it may be worth looking into. A few farms in my area keep all three animals and sell their milks raw, but I know that's not the case everywhere.

It's nice for you as you have dairy cows, however, the VAST majority of Americans do not have their own cows. Raw milk averages 12.95 a gallon, there is nothing economical about what you are speaking of for the average family. I agree with the health benefits 100%. Economically for families that can barely afford milk to put on the table I don't not see how it would work.
