Firefly's story reminds me a lot of the Clones in Star Wars, even getting voiced by the same person. Dee Bradly Baker is a legend to not only voice every clone but make them all sound slightly different

I like how when that one SAM tore off his visor to use it as a bomb, you could hear his real voice even though he was still in the suit. I wonder why Glamoth scientists bothered to go the YorHa route and make disposable soldiers that still possessed the ability to differentiate themselves from their peers and freely think. Like why not just make cold and unfeeling killing machines? Somewhat unrelated, but all the SAM units are supposedly clones, right? So then why are some male and others female? Who was the original who’s DNA is being used for clones? So many questions.

creativity is itself a survival mechanic. Do we want one SAM to make the call and preserve the rest of the legion for a later battle, or does it become an all-or-nothing gamble? Individuality means one soldier can make the difference.

They were clones from Titannia’s DNA not just copies so they only share the same entropy disease and features but when grown in the test tubes it could be different genders. Also i believe they said that they dont dream of anything but of the puppet queen and all the articles drilled into them as they sleep which you can see the conditioning of firefly when they say “for her majesty” and she is involuntarily repeating it while traumatized. But since Glamoth is gone already it seems some can now question their positions

They are part swarm so they will grow and evolve even if they were born to fight and burn out Titania, the empress, is the Base genetic code but cloning often mutates the genetic code after multiple cloning generations (theres at least 5 batches due to sam models 1-5)

Firefly became "the planet" Glamoth.. the planet might knowing it's going to get consumed by the swarm, so it answered firefly cry, and giving all living energy to firefly, thus her power went up beyond limits. she destroyed the last wave of swarm, along with the planet.

after tectone pointed out all the dumb things in the trailer I just can't get emotional over something like this lol too many cliche anime moments like talking during a battle against millions of bugs or oh no random side character died or the uwu blush on the last character that talks to firefly after she's potentially got broken bones. also the nakedness under the mech suits like they aren't allowed to wear clothes for some reason.
