​@@majorasmask5523 There are likely more then 4 Chaos gods. Khorne, Nurgle, Tzeentch and Slaanesh are just the most powerful ones. There is in all likelihood at least one more Chaos god. It is said that Malal/Malice is the god of self destructive tendencies. Since most people are not self destructive most of the time he is not as powerful as the "big four". However while he cannot do alot of stuff in the Warp or create daemons he has an entire Space Marine Chapter, the Sons of Malice at his beck and call. He can also sometimes summon himself into real space as a daemonhost inside a powerful warrior champion of his choosing, granting them immense power at the cost of unintentionally quickly completely destroying them physically. It is said that when Malice comes into play both the Chaos gods themselves AND knowledgeable Inquisitors react with fear when they learn of his coming due to his immensely destructive nature and his surprisingly high success rate when it comes to combatting enemy armies.

Well it was kind of a clusterfuck, Russ was under the impression the emperor himself wanted magnus executed but he was still willing to try and get him back to terra, it was when magnus refused to respond to any hails from Russ that he went ahead with his orders, and even then he couldn't really pull his punches because Magnus's legion wasn't exactly weak and were under the impression Russ was there for a war of extermination, which meant Russ had to go ahead with a war of extermination. It's kind of magnus's fault because if he had just talked to Russ when Russ hailed him the whole thing would have been sorted.

Well yeah, I can see why, Vandire made life hell for a lot of people, the unification wars were some of the most destructive battles and burned worlds completely, and we have no idea what 2 and 11 did. The heresy is also toned down from the imperial perspective because chaos was involved, so all they would know about it was a god vs devil allegory and a large scale battle taking place over various worlds.

Not necessarily. Their crimes could not have been as bad as the Heresy, it virtually killed the Emperor and nearly ended the Emperium. It was probably just bad compared to things that had come before. Once the Heresy broke out there was no way to erase those crimes from memory given they are still actually fighting them.

I’m currently reading the First Heretic, and while I know Lorgar isn’t a reliable narrator it sure doesn’t sound like the Emperor “found out”… Lorgar worshipped the Emperor from the get go. I think the Emperor just put on a facade that he was fine with it so that he could adopt Lorgar, then eventually he got pissed that Lorgar was taking too long to conquer worlds in the crusade.

Leman Russ knew that if Lorgar was subject to obliteration that he would have to carry it out as the Emperor's executioner. It's hinted he had to kill the 2 missing primarchs and the emperor effectively ordered him to do the same to Magnus the Red. Leman Russ almost killed Horus with the spear of Russ, but hesitated and didn't go through with it.

C'mon dude it's common sense, the only reason Horus' records and memory we're not purged is because of the scale of the heresy it was galactic, you can't cover up a galaxy scale event. Secondly the emperor and malcador were effectively decommissioned by the end of the heresy so who is gonna enact the cover up?

We do know part of one of the lost primarchs names. When Horus tried to say their name he managed to sputter out “malal…” before getting choked out by Malcador. It’s possible he stuttered and it’s just “mal…”
