When evanescence signed there record label deal. The label told Amy they needed to add a guy to the song because it was a single. She was completely against it but it worked out in the end. One of earlier band members Ben Moody wanted evanescence to be a Christian rock band Amy felt differently and he left the band. This song was written about the guy who’d become her future husband.

Bro! Evanescence- GOING UNDER, LITHIUM, CALL ME WHEN YOUR SOBER, MY IMMORTAL. Lindsey Stirling and Amy Lee LOVE GOES ON AND ON. ❤️‍🔥 (That’s Lindsey’s track not an Evanescence song but Amy just Shines✨ and really shows her vocal power) like just pure vocalisation for a whole 1.5 minutes before she even says a lyric, you gotta hear it🥰❤️‍🔥 Edit: oh I forgot Break In by Lzzy Hale from Halestorm and Amy Lee of Evanescence. 🥲 not their usual style but just so gorgeous and really shows their voices in a different light😊

From what I heard, they were thought to be a Christian rock band and were played on the radio stations under that impression. But when Amy Lee clarified that they were not a Christian rock band, their music was abruptly removed from those stations. Again, I heard this and I’m not 100%. But I’m glad you found the band. Plenty of great songs to react to from all their albums, including the one they just released.

Audience participation is a thing at rock shows. Let them have the spotlight for a second, make them part of it instead of just a spectator. Makes for a solid relationship with the fans. Amy's so lovely, even 20 years later, she's so amazing!

Amy Lee is just everything!! She is classically trained in opera. Her voice is insane!
@FacesByChelseaK
@FacesByChelseaK Жыл бұрын
As I understand it, she started out without any formal training, just experience in choir in school. A lot of choral arrangements are of classical pieces, though, so she most likely had experience singing classical music, and possibly arias from operas. Opera is a sub genre of classical, but a specific kind of training is necessary to achieve the techniques, volume, etc. as an opera singer. Anyway, I think her success is even more impressive because she didn’t have any formal/professional teaching to begin with, and you can tell she’s had plenty of vocal training by now because she’s only improved since.

This song became so popular for the film Daredevil with Ben Affleck. The studio wanted a rapper for the song and she didn’t want it. It was either the rapper or not get the contract. She sign because she wanted to become popular to get a contract. I love 12 Stones. The singer is the rocker singer of 12 Stones. I seen 12 Stones in Milwaukee Wisconsin. I was in the stands and see Paul McCoy walking in the crowd. I smacked my friends shoulder, he ignores me and smack him again and I said it’s Paul McCoy from 12 Stones. Paul sees us in the crowd pointing to him. He points back at us and gave us respect. I didn’t want to bother him but such an amazing dude to do that to us

I had full body goosebumps listening to this with you 😂 I'm so happy you're exploring more alternative music! It's super common at the end of metal shows for the band to do a really big grand finale! Little late on commenting here, but I just wanted to say that there are a lot of creators out there that don't understand the true emotion that music brings to people - especially in "rock", "metal", or "emo" music, but you do and it's amazing to see. The emotions you experienced in this video (and many of the others too) are the emotions that drive us to this type of music. So many people asked me in High School why I listened to this stuff, and the answer is the feeling that you felt. It's hard to put into words what music like this makes us feel, it has to be experienced, and I'm glad you're able to experience it. Your passion for music is undeniable, and I think we need more people who have that passion to be at the forefront of the music industry - whether it be as an artist or as a listener. Music brings us all together and lets us feel complex emotions. Thanks for sharing your emotions with us!

So, I'm glad you're listening to Evanescence, them and Linkin Park were my teen years in a nut shell lol. Couple of things, and I'm sure there are other comments telling you. The male vocals on the original were added simply because the track was going to be used in a movie and she was told they wanted male vocals so she had to write in a part for the male to sing and that's what happened. She actually didn't like the fact that she had to add a male vocal, but is glad that it took off and opened opportunities for the band. Secondly, Amy has said herself on the whole 'Christian band' thing “There are people that are hell-bent on the idea that we’re a Christian band in disguise, and that we have some secret message,” Lee told Entertainment Weekly in April 2003. “We have no spiritual affiliation with this music. It’s simply about life experience … I guarantee that if the Christian bookstore owners listened to some of those songs, they wouldn’t sell the CD.” so yea... They are far from a christian band...

I've seen Evanescence last year. They will really just have an entire grand piano emerge from under the stage for a couple of songs. It's kind of their signature party trick :D Regarding them being a Christian band, they're actually not! This is from Amy Lee's Wikipedia page: "In the early 2000s, Lee said that she has never been formally religious and does not attend church, but considers herself a Christian. She stated that regardless of any band member's beliefs, Evanescence was not a Christian band and lyrically did not have a religious affiliation." Nothing like the entire audience singing the song by themselves, right? Oh but you have no idea just how emotional rock and metal can be. If you want the most extreme example of this, listen to Pain Remains by Lorna Shore. However, I have to make a few disclaimers before you get to that: 1. Pain Remains is one song that is split up into three parts with a music video each (Dancing Like Flames / After All I've Done, I'll Disappear / In a Sea of Fire). The total combined runtime of the full song is over 20 minutes. 2. You will not be able to understand the lyrics without subtitles. But the music videos don't have subtitles. There is a fanmade lyric video but that doesn't have the visuals from the official music videos and those are EXTREMELY important to the full experience of Pain Remains. 3. This song is HEAVY. Not just in how it sounds but also in the subject matter. It will either completely ruin the rest of your day or give you a lot of comfort in a way you didn't think was possible. It's one of the greatest artistic masterpieces ever put to music in my humble opinion.

If you want a rock song that pulls out emotion, try Eiley by Too Close to Touch. Almost any song off their last full album "Haven't Been Myself" can pull at strings, but Eiley is my song when I need to get kicked in the feels. To not give too much into it, but it deals with the aftermath of the loss of a loved one. Though half of each verse and the bridge are heavier they are clear an understandable, the vocalist, Keaton Pierce displayed phenomenal emotion (but this one is a bit on the angry side) They also have some electronic elements that I think you will like, Unfortunately in March of 2022, about 6 years after the release of Haven't Been Myself, Keaton died "suddenly and unexpectedly" due to "a medical condition he had been dealing with privately,". RIP Keaton and Eiley and I am sure others have commented but the male vocalist is pronounced Jah-ko-bee (seems you got it right at the end)

You really need to check out Evanescence- My immortal. That’s one of their biggest songs and I know for a fact you’ll love it. Her voice is that of an angel in it. And I challenge you to not get emotional. I’m hear for the rock reactions and you’re killing it 🤘🏼

if you want an absolutely unmatched combination of Amy's vocals and Jacoby's screams for the rap verse, you NEED to check out linkin park! i'm not a fan of theirs personally so i don't have any songs i can recommend, but there's no debating that Chester Bennington is one of the strongest vocalists in the scene (one of the few screamers who did it for his entire career and managed to not utterly destroy his voice by the end of it, lmao). they do similar blends of rock and rap that evanescence did for this song, and i've mostly heard them described as "hard rock".

My guy, you need to go to a rock festival. At the ending of the show, you just go hard and smash it! The hype and just the feeling you get from it, is wonderful!
