Undertaker was really playing blackjack with the final decade of his career. He had absolute CLASSIC matches from Batista, Edge, HBK, HHH & even against Punk. He should've retired but he kept coming back. I'm one of those fans that although I understand why the streak was broken against Brock... I wish he would've NEVER lost at Mania. The End of an Era should've been the end of the careers of both Taker & Hunter. They've given all that they had & could give to the business already; they both had nothing left to prove & that final glance towards the ring at the end of the match would've been ingrained into the hearts & souls of wrestling fans forever had it been both of their final matches.

Can’t forget Orton. That was the match that really got the run of the streak going. That’s when I believed it really was a thing. The Chokeslam into RKO. Wen he kicked out my first thought was takers winning, my second thought was who is he fighting next year? That was the trend from them on. But I do believe ending the streak was the RIGHT thing. U can’t build something like that to not break it. Don’t get me wrong it took me a couple years for me to feel like this but overall I think Brock was the right man.

The Michaels career ending match is still one of my favorite to watch of all time because it is so emotional on the next night to watch Taker tip his hat to Shawn, who was so difficult to work with in his days when he was drinking and doing drugs heavy. Honestly, that match was the right way for Shawn to go out because he never stepped foot in a ring again as an active competitor until the you know when match that never should have happened.

The WM 25-28 Streak Matches could be considered one of the best Long Term Storylines. Shawn Michaels attempts and fails to end the streak, and you see some of that reflection in the 28 fight against Triple H. Triple H didn’t want to fight him again, mirroring to how Undertaker didn’t wanna fight Shawn again at 26.

The thing that always sticks in my mind about this match is Triple H screaming "END IT! END IT OR I WILL!" - It was just fantastic storytelling, and I knew at the time that we would never see a match like it again. The Era of Storytellers ended that night in my opinion, and since then wrestling has been about the athleticism more than the stories behind it, and that's why I rarely watch these days. The stories were what got me invested in the matches, and without it - they mean nothing to me.
@xXEliminatorXx993 жыл бұрын
They don't tell stories inside the ring anymore. It's all about "spectacular" meaningless moves. Yes, everybody's a super athlete and thats boring
@nicholaswidlewski88762 жыл бұрын
@@xXEliminatorXx99 Are they really better athletes now than 20 or 30 years ago? 20 years ago, it was about storytelling. But when they needed to, the athleticism was there. 30 years ago, on average, wasn't as athletic, but that was by design. Big giant monsters who are simply powerhouses in a way that today's 5'8", 160lb guys can't match. And they could tell their own stories as well. As far as the more athletic guys, give Randy Savage, Bret, or Curt Hennig a modern ring with 20x more give, and they could've done anything today's guys do while being far bigger.

This is one of the matches I show non wrestling fans when they wanna know why I love wrestling (this and the first Omega/Okada match). I've shown this match and just given a little bit of context and people who aren't wrestling fans still get caught up in the emotion. Even if it doesn't fully convert them (I don't think any one match could) it still gets them interested to check out more or at least gives them a new perspective/respect on wrestling, so many times people are like "I thought wrestling was this dumb goofy thing but that way different than what I was expecting"

Dude Bret vs Austin at 13 was the best match WWF or WWE ever had and of course triple h will go over like he did with Sting I honestly thing Sting winning would have been a better outcome but the wwe wants to bury any wcw guy. Sting going over would have been huge

When shawn retired, hhh vs taker fued ended and that felt like attitude era was put in the casket. When takers steak ended that's when attitude era had the lid closed but I dont think it will ever r.i.p thanks to the network or peacock now i suppose

So I forgot when I started this video that I had been watching a previous video in .5x speed, so you sounded completely hammered at the start of the video 😂

This was fantastic to watch, I didn’t know anything about this match so I was on the edge of my seat just hearing the play by play. What a great lead up and finish.

This should’ve been Undertaker’s retirement match, the Streak should’ve stayed intact.

Honestly Orton should’ve been the one to end the streak if anybody was to do it
