2:40 That is the thing though, even Vegapunk himself isn't rooting for Joyboy because he didn't know who he was and what he is fighting for, much less judging whether Joyboy was righteous, that was precisely why he was so frustrated with Roger, who he presumed to know the truth. All people in the known since Clover has been like this: Roger, Whitebeard and now Vegapunk, all they chose to do were to encourage the new generation to find out the truth for themselves and make that judgement without prejudice, there must be a reason for that, maybe if the truth is to be reveal to the world it will not only lead to mass panic and destruction, but many will stand against Joyboy's vision even then, please remember that even Nefertari Lily (even though she defected at the end) was part of Imu's faction, there must be merit to his course for at least a huge portion of the world back then to support him, the Void Century only happened when the people who lived in that era has died, meaning back then a lot more people knew about Imu and Joyboy's war and choses to oppose him. Further more Vegapunk's speech is aimed at the people in the world of One Piece, meaning that regardless of it's revelations to the reader or lack there off is not the main focus of the story, the real importance lies in it's impact to the world itself, those seemingly insignificant reaction panels are the real keys of the plot, because everything that happens from this point forward will be caused by this moment in time.

Gave an understanding of geography Renounced Ohara of thier supposed crimes by hinting at historical discrepancies Gave the world a new outlook on Roger pirates And reignited the great pirate era but for the masses as well. Wb made the pirates gun for one piece again. With vp speech even the marine side and celestial dragon will become a part of the race..to either discover or suppress the search. It gave us an eminent threat. An apocalypse. Now the panic will ensue and nobody can stay overlook it or stay neutral It brought the world up to date for the final battle to take place. It gave us hints and the op world people hints to be like ohara and look for the past bc if the past u know is fishy and u r smart u will realise the wg is fishy. Thus offhandedly promoting RA. It also painted the roger pirates in a new light to the people reviving the fire in public 25 yrs ago bc some ppl gonna see pirates in a new light. *He also indirectly told everyone that wg has a nuclear weapon that can destroy ur island* . If im an op person world and i have common sense aint no way im trusting a gov with a nuclear weapon which they have already used. I would say absolving ohara of thier false crimes releasing news about nuclear weapon and apocalypse and reigniting the great pirate era in a sense but for an even wiser scale that roger and wb could reach by including the marines and wg side in it as well. You're absolutely right mate. Fans tend to forget that the in-world people of OP didn't know sh*t about all of these, compared to us readers/watchers. I think VP speech is masterfully written as it stirs up the OP world without Spoiling too much for us readers, yet he gave us some new information like Joyboy being the first pirate or that Clover bears the initial D.

@@BillyKing21 and people who dont care for the op in world people knowing stuff saying its meaningless and just additional dragging are just impatient people who read the spoilers instead of chapters and / or do not appreciate the worldbuilding aspect. Vp's speech adds a layer of worldbuilding that hasnt been this largescale since wb's death. They say its just reaction shots of forgotten unimportant characters..its like saying how people reacted to strawhat bounties and wb death are just padding chapters and it doesnt add anything...when these things are what makes the worldbuilding awesome and the world feel alive.But they dont realise that this is the last time before the end maybe we will see so many past people reacting to something. Final saga will be mostlh about imp people duking it out and mysteries revealing through flashbacks. Seeing so many people for the 2nd last time reacting to somethig worth reacting is rewarding as a bingeread for long term fans and definitely adds to the worldbuilding making it connected and alive.

The previous chapter coupled with this one gave me some thoughts… Vegapunk spoke about voices of the past in their purest form. A truthful/trustworthy imparcial source of the story (at least that’s how I understood it). I think there’s a tone dial or several tone dials completing the whole story in LaughTale. Either One Piece is the tone dials combined with the full poneglyph narrative, combining the messages into One Piece… Or there’s the treasure, whatever it is, whatever it does, tone dials are next to it, explainingthe story and what the One Piece means and what it can do. Thanks again for an awesome review, JB. Maybe it’s far fetched, but I believe there’s some truth in it. Roger laughed and said something like, what a funny story, what an incredible treasure. Joyboy, how did you leave this here? So, I’m really starting to think One Piece may be the completion of the fragmented story of the World. Given VP’s words in this last chapter, everything will depend on who finds the One Piece. Roger found it, but was missing something and felt the time wasn’t right. Haha, so many possibilities. Well, just having some fun with some thoughts “out loud”. 😁

We do seem to be reaching the escape part of the arc, though there are some non-straw hat factors that could still carry on the arc for a chapter or two. Emeth and that jutsu is still a thing but let's not forget about York and CP0, Sentomaru and Kizaru were also shown so we should be thinking about what they will do now. We can't hold it against Vegapunk too much since he did drop the meaning of the D while we were on static, but he has very much reignited the hunt for the One Piece again, the stakes are higher and the world knows it, even marines were suggesting they go find it first, so I think he's done what he needed: still waiting on why a picture was needed though it's not like a perfectionist like Vegapunk to wait 10 minutes so a video feed can be set up and then not require a video feed... I really loved what they did with Luffy and Bonney this chapter. Luffy could've pushed Saturn away himself but he saw Bonney get up and knew it was important to her. He made sure she got the direct punch while he backed her up, and even if the gatling seemed to do more damage it was the act and catharsis of Bonney - much like she did with Alufa - punching her way to freedom, pushing through all the torment and adversity that had entrapped her in her life. It's just amazing work there, and Kuma's little smile afterwards was a nice little bow on it. I don't know why we are dragging on this 'oh no the Sunny has to land safely somehow' because like, Zeus is there, If Zeus can carry Big Mom it can carry the Sunny. Also Robin could just use Mil Fleur Wing to glide the Sunny down safely, it seems like a non-issue to me. I don't know where this Shanks Twin theory came from but I'm not really on board with it, too many factors that don't quite add up atm.

The more Vegapunk's story goes, the more it looks like Oda is inspired by the life of Nicolaus Copernicus. He published a model of the universe (the heliocentrism, which the catholic didn't like) on his death bad, knowing that he would be killed for that. I think something the community seems to ignore alot is the difference between Nika and Joyboy. pretty much everyone in the community uses them interchangeably but its interesting which characters refer to luffy as which name. Kuma. bonney and the gorosei all call him Nika, the original "god" whereas the Giants, iron giant and Zunisha call him Joyboy, the first pirate from 900 years ago. Maybe the Buccaneers were Nika's allies thousand of years ago and Fishmen/Giants/Lunarians were Joyboy's allies in the void century. Im and the Gorosei might also predate the void century and might have been around when Nika was alive if he was a real person too.

in regards to the guy in silhouette... the bottom right of the page has imu, dragon, and akainu. These are the leaders of the wg as a whole, the leader of the revolutionary army, and the leader of the marine. All three of them are involved in and care about the political direction of the world and want to be in charge for the most part. So this brings into question. Clearly, there is a person or a faction that also wants to affect/control the political direction of the world, so the question becomes, who? honestly, I'm of the opinion that this is either a person from the underworld, or maybe the person in charge of the underworld, or there might even be a faction that's been hidden from us and are aware of the truth of the void century and have been waiting for nika's return before coming out of the shadows.

This is the one that when it comes out animated it will be the one that starts the real endgame phase a sum up who is in game still and what'a the end goal here for first. Maybe the background music will not be the same as in wano when Luffy gave us a demo version of G5 Nika powerup, but the feeling will be the same. This will show us a glimpse of what too come in the near future and nakamas... we are in for a FEAST. I know this was implicated not to be true at this point, but still i want to point out, that when vegapunk once again mentions the weapons technology that sank the worlds continents, Shirahoshi is shown right next to Vivi. There used to be some theories that suggested Vivi to be an ancient weapon in the same way as Shirahoshi and this might be some excellent forshadowing. After all we are still somehow in the dark about the nature of the ancient weapons. They are said to be able to destroy the world or now more up to date, sink it. Though somehow both doesn't really apply to Poseidon. I mean, yeah controlling sea kings is strong, but up to this date, sea kings feel underwhelming. They,ve been defeated by a number of captain level marines, not to mention Luffy at the very start of his journey. I wonder, is this power really on par with something that wipes an entire country off the map or can we expect more of this power. After all Momonosukes power feels very similar to Poseidon aswell

His speach isnt just for us. Its for the people of the world of one piece. How they deal with that will be a whole other dynamic to the story. Oda could tell us everything, but as long as the world doesnt know the what's the point? All he's doing is catching the world up with the reader, or would you prefer that off screen? I know it's a story you take in from your perspective, but don't forget. Oda made a full world with global cause and effect that exists behind the page. Even beyond what you read on the page, the rest of the world is still moving in the background.

What a fantastic chapter Egghead has been great 3 double page spreads in one chapter we're eating good this week Kizaru still lying down after being tossed out by Luffy shows Gear 5th power is absolutely bonkers and is no joke Love the growth from Luffy letting Bonney attack Saturn first instead of doing it alone (That little Bonney flashback made me emotional) The most surprising thing about the last double page is seeing names like Koby and Kuzan being relevant in finding the One piece and not Kidd or Law

Something that I think is very important is actually the repetition to the in universe world. Gol D Roger first mentions the OP White beard asserts that it is real, it is not the ramblings of a mad man. Vegapunk, a leading scientist says, it is real and carries heavy consequences. It feels like it is somehow important for certain actors to move. I think that this is the arc that forces Imu to act and take an active role from here on. That's kinda obvious, but not at the same time. If this person has remained hidden for 900 years, why would they come out now? The coverup is fully impossible now. There's a paradigm shift in what the population believes and how they act from here on. This will twist Imu's hand. Or at least I think there's a good reason that the realness of the OP to be emphasized this much, narratively. These repetitions didn't happen by accident.

Emeth is going to reveal what the D is… but in classic Oda fashion the reveal will be mysterious enough that we will have more questions than answers so that it will only make complete sense when Luffy discovers it… but it’s clear the D have an ability or secret that is at once powerful and also detrimental to them… a checkered fate perhaps related to how they smile at death? If Oda intentionally blue balled us about the D over and over it was to have Emeth show it instead of tell it and by showing something unexpected without clear explanation that will create more hype and speculation leading forward. Perhaps the D have all accepted some burden into their lineage factor that allows them to turn will into physical ability… like they are devil fruits in human form and emeth will understand how to unlock the D show us an alternate reality being brought into existence. Perhaps Imu controls and has been so sloppy because they have some control over fate and emery will convert his own will or soul into a burning bright supernovae … or erase the gorosei imagined forms as if the gorosei are imaginary boogie men projected to the island and the D can do the same? So what if the robot manifests a demon from his imagination that can deal with the gorosei just like a hologram with light gloves? It would be sick if emetg will turn on the D ability latent in all of the D clan across the globe! So joyboy planted the D in the lineage factor of people and emeth was waiting for the time to reawaken the D just like awakening a devil fruit… that would be interesting because vegapunk just set the stage and said the D have something in them. Roger said he would not really die to reliegh was that not symbolic… is the will or soul collecting in the D every generation so that once awakened the haki and dreams of all those generations together can flow through the current vessels… imu said the D are only shells of their former selves and do not understand it themselves… so what if that meant he does not think it’s possible for them to channel their power. I sort of created this theory as I was ranting/tamblong in this message… but I like it! What if the weight of the soul stuff was about the D … a lineage factor that ties the souls of everyone in the past it like the trees of shandora! So 800 years was needed to collect enough power to power the one piece? Roger was early and he was talking to joyboy like he was in the room listening! I like this potential

my current headcannon is all the weird humanoid races were scientifically made by the ancient kingdom for military or societal purposes. bio engineering humans the way we do with crops getting the best genetics for the most optimal work enviornments, forever putting every person on a cycle in society as nothing but a slave of different races with different purposes, akin the soldiers of germa. but with humans with always want to create what we have so they discovered putting consiousness into their slaves boosted work in some way. nobody saw these workers as anything but the specifically tailored human to said workload and doesnt bat an eye until joyboy, someone to question this cycle decides to go against the tides and explore the world and free all of the workers of the world, wanting everyone to be free to do what they want and not what society wanted
