Hey friends! I’m Sierra Schultzzie and this is my vlog channel with my husband, Stephen. We started vlogging 5 years ago to document planning our wedding and growing together as a young married couple, and the channel has now really become our passion project. I have four cats and I talk to them more than I talk to my husband some days lol. I just had a baby and now I have so many one way conversations a day 😂. I may be crazy but I swear my cats know what I’m saying sometimes and I know talking to my baby is good for them and encourages cooing. Love to see that I’m not the only one who talks to animals.

Talking to your baby is absolutely important to their development!! That guy doesn’t know anything, you go mama! You are helping Grace learn, and understand what things are around her. I can’t reiterate how important talking, and showing your baby things all day everyday is for their brain development. Reading is great too.

"It doesn't know what you're saying"...... she giggled in response to you telling her about the birds chirping, that is communication at its most basic form. You are doing amazing and doing exactly what all paediatric doctors tell parents to do with their babies/small children.

Right? Narration and speaking clearly is so good for infants. When you don't, their brains don't develop as they should, they have poor language development and poor speech skills that usually follow them for the rest of their lives. Socializing with babies is crucial, and honestly necessary.

I have 5 kids and each one has been a different experience when it comes to nursing/breastfeeding/formula. When it is easy, breasfeeding is SO MUCH easier than formula. But when things are not going as smoothly, formula is SO MUCH easier. The hardest is when things are going a little rough and you are doing all the things, with nursing and pumping and formula. Such hard work you did doing all that for as long as you did!

THIS. The first 6 weeks breastfeeding my daughter was awful - pain, latch issues, supply issues, breast refusal, sleepy baby that was difficult (understatement) to wake to feed… but after those 6 weeks it was a dream, and it has been ever since. She’s 7 months old now and going strong. So easy - always on tap whenever and wherever, always the right temperature, NO bottle dishes whatsoever. It’s such a different feeding journey for everyone, and every baby. But ultimately any breast milk at all is amazing for babe and 6 months is wonderful! 🥰

This is such a good way to put it. I find people like to say one is the “easy” way out but now that I’ve done all forms of feeding for two babies.. both have crazy hard parts and both are easier at times 100%. Gotta do what’s best for your family 💕

My two babies are 15 months apart. With my daughter I stopped at 3 months, it was so tough! She’s an extremely intelligent 2 year old, very independent and healthy! My son is going to be 1 in a week and I BF him til 10 months, he’s also very healthy and thriving as well. It’s hard. Breastfeeding is hard. Remember your daughters name meaning- you need to give yourself GRACE! Being a mom and making every single decision is tough. I felt so relieved once I was done breastfeeding with both of my kids because I got to have my body back for MYSELF.

Just a small mommy tip, when introducing the eggs to my baby, she ate them and loved them. But I noticed that she started getting a diaper rash. I thought for sure it was just the heat, or the diaper itself. The pediatrician asked me what she ate the most and it was eggs. So I found out she can only eat egg whites. So my only tip is just to watch her really well after eating them, and also look in places you wouldn't expect an allergic reaction. Great video! So happy that you are happy!

I have an acquaintance who did not talk to her baby at all because she didn't understand anyway and would get upset when people pointed it out. Guess what? Her pediatrician reported her to our countrys version of cps, because she considered it a form of neglect. They came doing home visits and giving her education on baby's development and making sure she was followd up with her pediatrician and nurse. She now just had baby nr. 2 and is a completely different mother to this child. I couldn't even imagine not talking to my little boy, he loves our voice so much 🥰

Grocery pick up is so great! My fiancee had back surgery a couple of years ago, and it was a lifesaver. He couldn't walk for a while, so I didn't want to leave him alone for too long, but also he definitely couldn't get in the car. I used to work in grocery pickup! Most places will have a little comments section under each grocery item where you can specify how ripe you would like your bananas, substitutions you’d prefer if the original item you ordered is out of stock, little things like that! We love it when customers do that, it makes our job a lot easier and will make you a lot happier with your purchases 😊

Sierra, have you ever seen R2-Steve2? It’s a toy in a universe where everyone is named Steve. I saw it yesterday and died thinking of Steven. Also, Each person that breastfeeds and each kid has a different experience. The best thing to do is recognize that and decide to do what’s best for both. Also, Also, it’s really important for babies brain development to talk to them normally and as if they can contribute. I did that with my kids and everyone was amazed at their vocabulary skills. We also played word games (like synonyms, rhyming words, and thinking of words that had a certain number of letters or in a category) all when they were growing up. You do you girl! You guys are doing a great job

Breastfeeding is so different for everyone, even between kids from the same parent! My first born needed supplemented with formula before she was a month old and my supply barely made it to 9 months even only feeding her 1-2x a day with breast milk. My second... Literally didn't even eat solid food until 1 and nursed for just over TWO years. He only even stopped because I had a rough week with my depression and just completely forgot for a few days and he never asked again. Both experiences worked for me and for them and they're both happy and healthy kids now. ❤️ Be proud of what you've done so far! You're a great Mama to Grace no matter what!

You talk to little Grace, and hey love to hear mama's voice. You did a great job feeding Grace no matter breast or formula. It is tough pumping and trying to figure out being a mom. A great tip for formula make a big batch of formula in an easy to pour water bottle. I would make 24-32 ounces and no need to measure water or powder each time. It saved precious time at each feed. I loved the Contiago flip top water bottle. I think they make on the go formula holders. I am sure grandparents will be so happy to help feed Grace! My girl spun in circles for a couple months before finally crawling. I hope you and your family have a great holiday season!

They're usually super good about getting what you want on produce when you add notes explaining what you're looking for. Not perfect but definitely closer to what you want

That guy is missing out on the joy of bonding with a child by talking to them. What a frustrating experience as a mother but so happy you just let it go and continue doing what you know is right!🤗

Momma, you keep talking to that precious bundle!! She is taking it all in and connecting with you and you are sowing the seeds of open communication for life. Plus she is learning how to speak!! (Does this guy think she is going to just magically understand language one day if people haven't been talking to her? How does that work?) Chat that baby's ear off, she is loving every word you speak 💖

You did amazing with your breast feeding journey!! I had my son in July and I couldn’t breast feed because my milk never came in! I felt HORRIBLE but there was no way with my job I would be able to pump and my baby is happy with formula! I am glad I just did formula because my husband can also help with feedings!!

I also used a cart like that for my pumping stuff. It was SO freaking helpful.

I have yet to finish the video and I wanted to say-I’m quitting breastfeeding too these days! I’ve always had a low supply and slow flow so baby has been mixed fed since birth, he only took a bottle for the first couple months but then he was not gaining enough so I added a second one m, things where going smoothly..then he went on a breastfeeding strike a few weeks ago and I don’t have time to seriously pump so I did it just enough to avoid mastitis and clogs but my supply DIPPED…and last week the stress of another couple sleepless nights where the cherry on top. Yesterday he latched like twice the whole day and at night I manually removed 2 ounces (both breasts), tonight I don’t feel The need 🤷🏻‍♀️ baby is 5.5 months, healthy and on the heavier side, no longer any point to stress myself!

FYI that chord you found in the bottom of the three tier cart, goes to your freida massager. Just wanted to let you know in case you throw it away.

Pumping was so much work. Once I went to just breastfeeding it was so much easier and I started to really love it. No pumping, no bottles, it took away so many of my fears and stress just breastfeeding. The pumping was awful mentally for me and just breastfeeding on demand was so much better. I did see a lactation specialist who explained to me that babies can get a flow preference and we worked to slow the bottle feedings so that he would prefer the breast.

when you talk to your baby it is great for their development, it helps them to exercise their brain, and a start into social development. I can tell in the video when grace laughs and coos she is not only understands what you are telling her but she also wants to have a conversation with you. I remember when my boy was a baby I constantly talked normal to the baby. Never let anyone stop you from talking to your baby. I am an early ed teacher with an early ed background, feel free to ask me any developmental questions or any question you may have.

That's what I did when I weaned my baby off and switched to formula. I slowly decreased my pumping instead of go cold turkey bc I was worried about engorged breasts. Then, I just went ahead and stopped. I did have lumps but I just hand expressed the milk out and my breast were back to normal. So, if you have lumps, expressing it out should be fine and it wont stimulate your breasts to keep producing

I know every baby is different, but I'm so jealous of how easy Grace seems to be. My 6 month old daughter would never just go down for a nap on her own, and lately bedtime has been taking an hour minimum to get her to sleep. She also screams when on her tummy. Sigh...

What an absolutely rude and uncalled for comment that guy made. 😒 It really bothered him so much in the few seconds it took him to walk by that he thought it was ok to make that comment to a stranger?? I am so mad and the comment wasn’t even said to me 😆 As a child development major I learned talking to babies and children is one of the MOST beneficial things we can do!

You should look into imperfect foods. They have amazing prices and deliver to your house every week. It’s the easiest thing ever and I haven’t had any issues with produce being bad or the wrong ripeness. Hope you like them!

I live in MN and Target was testing out drive up capabilities almost a year before everyone else. They started doing groceries after pandemic start. They only thing I don’t like to order that way is frozen foods. I’ve had my ice cream partially melted. When Shipt started, we switched over and I tell my shopper how I want my produce especially bananas. My hubby is very particular about them.

truthfully i didn’t even last like 4 months… i just didn’t like it… i know some moms just love the connection but i think i dreaded it so much, that i never enjoyed it at all. good for you for making it so far! *also, my 2nd took so long to crawl because she figured out how to roll and she just rather do that! my first walked at like 10 months… the 2nd walked at like 13 months
