This is one of the most impressive games I've ever seen and I've watched 99% of the videos on this channel. Every position has dozens of options but only 1 correct and they find it most of the time. It would never happen in blitz/bullet Seeing this game makes me think that classical time format is not the problem, but draws giving 0.5 point and wins 1 point could be different. Players only pushes for a win when it's very safe to do so. Have they ever tried making wins 1.5 points or something to make draws less ok for both players?
@hibiscustea71163 жыл бұрын
Agreed players should play for a win more frequently
@TwenOalley3 жыл бұрын
Make it like the premier league and have wins be 3 points, and draws 1. that would be pretty wild. maybe a bit much, but I would like to see events experimenting with format either way.
@MenOh993 жыл бұрын
They tried this in draughts for some years in the early 2000s, awarding 3-0 for a win and 1-1 for a draw (so exactly what you suggest). I'm not sure how much empirical research has been done on its effectiveness, but after a few years it was concluded that it didn't change much at the top level, and the old scoring of 2-0, 1-1 was reinstated.
