@Reality-Distortion6 жыл бұрын
I think Kaguya wasn't that bad of a plot device herself, people just love Madara so it was hard to accept they got rid of him like that. Her problem is that she is as unlikeble as possible. It's huge contrast to replace Madara, a villian that could be on multianime best villians list was replaced by a godlike zombie. NOBODY likes mindless powerhouses steered by weakling in background. Watching Kaguya and Zetsu is like going back to Fat Buu and Babidi in Dragon Ball Z. As soon as they killed of weakling laughing in background that was real villian and powerhouse evolved into something more serious the story got better. Here they did exactly opposite. I'm fan of Madara and I think that him being manipulated, backstabbed and betrayed in the end really well portrays what creating fake peace attempt was worth. His downfall was a bit symbolic, just Kaguya herself was lazy written. If she had Madara's character or similiar at least over half of hating people would tell everything is ok as it is.

More than half of Naruto's Filler was actually good, & I would recommend watching most of it. Really at times the problem with Naruto was getting access to it. I mean The 4th Great Ninja War hasn't been dubbed in full yet. Naruto is 1 of the greatest anime series to ever exist thanks to its insanely likable characters, & excellent well written overall story. Back to what I was saying with Naruto being hard to access, keep in mind Cartoon Network never showed the final 11 episodes of the original series for unknown reasons. As well as that Disney XD completely stopped showing Shippuden in 2011, because the series was becoming too dark. Which then left the wait of almost 3 years before the revived Toonami started showing Shippuden. Toonami is only now just starting the 4th Ninja World War, so basically we had to watch Naruto through Discs or by streaming it online obscurely. The Clones going on strike was a fun episode, Naruto filler can be amazing. I don't think Naruto ever actually dropped in quality like Bleach did. The War helped provide further lore on the Naruto World, it offered the chance to rematch characters like was the case with Kakashi vs Zabuza or the Sasuke Retrieval Squad vs the Sound 4. The reunion of Team Asuma was well done, as was Itachi freeing himself from Kabuto's control by bringing back that crow.

@Wildy Duce Last Movie & Boruto's Dubbing happened before the completion of Shippuden's English Dub. Not all of Shippuden was dubbed when I left that comment & I don't think the entirety of Shippuden has been dubbed just yet. Besides it's not like it's easy to access the English Dub.

@@matthewmuir8884 Yeah I looked into that a bit after I commented. I know. I’ve been reading through the manga now having watched the first 70ish episodes of boruto first a while back. @@nickchavarria8052 That is true; it has been some time since the anime did an arc from the manga. I think they're treating the anime and manga like this for three reasons: 1. @WaterKirby19945 жыл бұрын
Wasn't Kaguya supposed to relate back to the Sage of the 6 Paths as a villain though? Also wasn't Zetsu related to Kaguya all along? I think there was symbolism in Naruto & Sasuke vs Kaguya as it represented the 2 sons of the Sage vs something the Sage of 6 Paths fought long ago. While yes Kaguya was fairly rushed in both the manga & anime, it still makes sense. Also to be fair we have the Boruto Series to expand upon Kaguya further.
@WaterKirby19945 жыл бұрын
@IRAz T0 I knew that stuff, I just tend to get the names mixed up & was using questions to make people think about this stuff for themselves. I referred to Kaguya the 2nd time as "something Hagoromo fought long ago", for the purpose of adding suspense to Kaguya.

Yeah, but they had to explain the origins of ninjutsu and the bijuu somehow. Madara just couldn't do that himself. They just fucked up her character something fierce. She could have been way more interesting.
@WaterKirby19945 жыл бұрын
@ThatDamnScottishGuy Madara was 1st seen at the Final Valley in the form of a statue, although I could have sworn the 1st time he got mentioned by name in the anime was when Sasuke appeared before the 9 Tailed Fox in that sneak peak scene at the start of Shippuden. The Sage of 6 Paths was 1st introduced when Jiraiya fought Pain if I remember correctly. Near the end of Shippuden Season 8 Tobi revealed much more to the story of the Sage of 6 Paths. Kaguya was more of a surprise Final Boss by your analogy. Also weren't Kaguya, Zetsu, & the 10 Tails all supposed to be different parts of the same character? The Sage of 6 paths was the original Jinchuriki who created the Tailed Beasts by dividing the 10 Tails Chakra with most of that going to the 9 Tailed Fox Kurama. Kaguya & her 2 sons are the reason people can use Chakra in the world of Naruto & supposedly the ancestors of almost every Ninja. Even Naruto & Sasuke are supposed to be the modern version of the 2 sons of the Sage of 6 paths. It's not exactly fair to say that Kaguya came out of nowhere, when she was a huge part of the Myths surrounding the Sage of 6 Paths. Maybe it would have been better if she was revealed much sooner, although she was supposed to have been almost entirely forgotten by Naruto's World.
@matthewmuir88844 жыл бұрын
I disagree; I think Obito should've been the final villain before Naruto's fight with Sasuke. Madara was boring and way too OP, whereas Obito as the Ten-Tails Jinchuriki could've been a very compelling final boss with established strengths and weaknesses.

Enock Blaster Matt oh yeah being reminded. naruto didn't get the ending it wanted. it was rushed aswell with a asspull endgame. and naruto becoming hokage felt unrealistic and not satisfying. the story forgived Sasuke for going rogue for no reason. because kishimoto was rushed. and goals? first off naruto started off with naruto wanting to become hokage to proof everyone wrong. then naruto went gay and we get 600 episodes of looking for his gaylover and barley tried to work for hokage. so you can scratch out *goals* and *ending* because neither was good. oh yeah someone just told me what made naruto really boring was the editors basically took over. that's the opposite of what happened to bleach because tite kubo didn't really let anyone control his story unless it was necessary. probably what made bleach story more exciting than narutos.

asdf jkl; what I mean is everything I wrote up their^^^ case in point he said that but at the cost of what happened he may have gotten a ending he wanted but the backlash for it speaks for itself. and um I can't blame you that u didn't get past the second arc. Its because everyone knows that the second arc is FILLER ARC and that its skippable. when that massive filler arc came in on OG Naruto your lucky that I could skip it because I would have gave up on the series. the difference between bleach fillers and naruto filler is that we actually like our filler except that second filler arc. BTW if your still interested which idc .. pick back on the series in Ep 110 that's when that second filler arc is over and Canon picks up .....js

The original Naruto Focused a lot on every character, and every character had good solid depth and difference. In shippuden, the more it went into it, the more it was just about naruto and sasuke, for me and many others, if your favourite character was someone rock lee, kiba, neji etc. You hardly got too see anything good from them in shippuden? For example, neji had a ton of character development in original naruto, when he was close to death against the spider guy (Orochimaru's henchmen) in an amazing fight, That moment was devestating and nearly had me crying. But when he had that quick death in naruto shippuden just recently, I was just like 'meh', haven't really seen anything from you in the last like 7+ Years, and probs won't see anything even if you weren't to die. I feel like there was a huge difference between Naruto and Naruto Shippuden.
@10010110110107 жыл бұрын
Seagull Designs Only real character development from the side characters in the second half were by Shikamaru and Co, Hinata barely, Gaara and co, and I think that's it. I think that's not necessarily bad for many of the characters, like it would be bad if Lee would change too much, or Shino, maybe even Kiba. Neji and others were already fairly developed. As in, there's no further place you'd want them to go for their character. He's completed character development mostly by the first part. Tenten could have used more to her character, though I guess she's more of a straight man in a crazy crew, but Neji already could fill that role. Overall I feel they were mostly treated fine, but yeah more could have been done with their characters. Perhaps in this way, filler was helpful because they usually involved them.

I know people will flame me for that, but that's why I really enjoyed some of the filler episodes. Take Kakashi Gaiden / Kakashi Anbu Arc, for example. I've always liked Kakashi and wondered why he had a Sharingan despite not being an Uchiha. Tada! Explanation! Plus we got to see why Kakashi is a lazy, bumbling idiot at times, but a strategic , highly lethal killer as well. I liked the background Information we got. Actually I'd rather watch those fillers than so6p-kurama-cloak-sage mode-hyper-dyper- Naruto vs madaraMcgiantsamurai or kaguya-ex-machina.

i also have the same problem as you are, maybe because the main focus or theme in the first part is acknowledgement and ninja way while the main focus in the second part is will of fire vs uchiha curse of hatred or you can say hope vs power, the Naruto main problem is also its too fast pace, that's why most characters who isnt Naruto's everyday inner circle or an Uchiha have so little development,... that's why i dont hate the filler at all, there's a lot of Naruto shippuden filler that helps connect the missing link in the manga story, it also help completed Narutoverse in general,...

I personally thing that the escalation of power was part of the reason why i wasnt into naruto so much anymore. In the early days characters felt like ordinary people which are able through hard work to master certain abilities. Towards the end most main characters didnt feel relatable at all. The fact that the final villain was literraly an alien didnt help either.

They were never ordinary people.. LMAO.. They were always superhuman like ninjas.. You mean the early days were more gritty and less Super country destroyin power.. But Naruto and Sasuke are at most powerful enough to destroy the moon separately.. Maybe much of the planet.. MAYBE.. Like I mentioned.. In the beginning it was established that a much higher level would come in Naruto.. Hey what can you say.. That's more of a nitpick and not an actual criticism of the story's construct..

Naruto became so popular in the west, particularly in America, because of it's already familiar Japanese cultural themes western audiences became accustomed too. Martial Arts films had a buzzing fan base in America during the 70s, 80s & 90s. NYC rap group "Wu-Tang" were heavily inspired by these martial arts films of those times. As said in the video "Naruto" debuted in 1999 in Weekly Shonen. By that time hits such as "Akira", "Ghost in the Shell" & "Dragonball Z" were already hits among American audiences. Naruto's ninja world was already a comfortable theme for fans to explore because of it's establishment in the public conscious. Largely based off of fighting the series was able to play with an already known idea and add a different perspective not quite seen yet. For all of it's allure Dragonball Z never had much care for it's secondary characters, with a central focus on Goku the universe was essentially built around his perspective of the world. Naruto brought us characters with arcs that had real-life similarities and occurrences. A lot of people have had feelings of inadequacy but remained determined such as Rock Lee, but even chose more violent paths such as Gaara. Naruto became a global phenomenon for taking a simple idea and injecting it with aspects of life that anyone from around the world and America could experience. We may not all keep defeating every foe like Goku and become a literal god, but we all can be immature and somewhat misguided like Konohamaru. Yet we can grow and become to realize life is more complex and layered than we want to believe. Overall the series was a hit, but it had its lows, some much lower than others. But what kept us fans even if that liking waned, was the undeniably growth we saw inn ourselves as individuals and the same journey in the characters themselves. Naruto will always be that manga/anime that we all really felt we grew with. And for that I'm thankful.......
@BIadelores3 жыл бұрын
Also, storywise Naruto could be said to have a lot of similar storybeats and progression as Harry Potter, which happened to be the biggest film franchise of the decade the Naruto anime started, so Harry Potter's success in some ways made Naruto's success easier.

Interesting analysis. I believe there's a few key factor which made Naruto "more successful" than Bleach. (1). Naruto had a clearly defined "end goal"--becoming Hokage, which kept ppl coming to back to see if he accomplished that, even if they had basically lost interest in the series. Ichigo really didn't have a "driving goal", instead he had a not so clearly defined one--growing stronger to protect those precious to him. Even in this he failed, because he didn't even try every option available to him. For instance, he was never shown ever trying to learn Kido. Even a simple scene showing him trying to learn it, but then it being explained away as "he has no talent for Kido", is better than never mentioning it at all. (2). Naruto had an intriguing "rival/foil". Although they seemed like polar opposites, at the core, Naruto & Sasuke were two sides of the same coin. Naruto was initially written as weaker than Sasuke, but ultimately they grew to be equal in power (unlike Bleach where Ichigo had rivals who he quickly grew to outclass--like Uruyu & Renji). Both characters were interesting in and of themselves, but their personal interactions really drove the story. Ppl came back to see what drama would play out between the two "main characters" & the ultimate resolution. (3). Naruto had developed "main villains". Virtually every major villain in the series had a defined goal & was given a pretty clear reason/rationale for having that goal (which was reinforced by a backstory). Bleach didn't really have this. Even though lord Aizen is in my top 5 fav. anime villains, he never really had a clearly defined goal. And the rationale for the goal that he was eventually given wasn't too convincing. (4). Naruto had a likable personality & sympathetic backstory. Yes Naruto started off annoying & still had his "moments", but he grew to be a largely likable guy because of his actions & the reason behind them. Ichigo had little to no real personality & didn't really display any emotion (outside of anger & sorrow). You couldn't even tell if he was ever happy. (5). Naruto's battles weren't always won through sheer strength or by basically using the same skills. Naruto actually used strategy & even trickery routinely to fell foes. This is probably best illustrated in his fights against Neji & Kiba. And he evolved from not being able to create a functional shadow-clone, to not only being able to create multiple shadow clones, but also unlocking new powers & creating his own signature techniques (which he actually used there after in the series). Conversely, Ichigo basically uses the same old sword slashes, & Getsuga to beat bad guys. This was very disappointing, since Ichigo had the potential to develop techniques from every super-powered species in the series. Even if he'd develop a new power/techique it would be quickly abandoned fro his standard moves. (6). Naruto had a larger audience range. Starting off as a kid, allowed children to relate to him (and the somewhat mature themes attracted teens & even adults). Those kids grew up along with Naruto as he matured. Bleach had a somewhat small audience range, given not only Ichigo's age (he started off as an "older teen" & not a "kid" like most other series), but also his lack of a real personality (outside of being somewhat of an emo). (7). Even though neither was a "romance series", Naruto did a far better job exploring possible romantic feelings, adding a different dynamic to all of the characters interactions. Naruto had an odd "love triangle" with the 3 main characters, and later had a 1-sided love interest in Hinata. This at least gave the "shippers" something to fantasize about. Ichigo basically came off as asexual in the series. (8). Naruto had several emotionally based sensei/pupil relationships. Naruto always had 1 teacher or another who he shared an emotional bond with. So he not only had an instructor to train him, but also someone else for fans to get emotionally invested in. We could share the sensei sense of pride whenever the pupil became stronger--and it was a person there to remind us how far the pupil has come. Ichigo didn't really have any sensei to speak of. Urahara was the as close to a teacher Bleach could muster & to a lesser extent, Yoruichi. Even then, there didn't seem to be much of an emotional connection between them (not even when his own dad trained him once).

Blackton Obvious! Agreed. I think the main reason Bleach fell flat was because the series as a whole (not just Ichigo), did not have any goals or direction. It was was pretty clear that Kubo was just making it up as he went along and never had a true endgame in mind past the Soul Society Arc. I love both series to death and they will always have a place in my heart but Bleach never had much going for it besides interesting characters and cool fights.

In the end, Bleach is a terrible example. You don't use trash as the standard. My work did it better than a piece of trash, that's great right? Well.. no, lol It's meaningless. Bleach became popular for a very different reason than One Piece and Naruto, these 2 followed the Dragon Ball footsteps, classic shonen structure, etc.. Bleach is more in line with Yuyu Hakusho, but instead of clever writing, Bleach was all about the artstyle. Old fans got interested with the theme because of Yuyu, new fans loved the art. That's it, Bleach was a anomaly, I don't know why people got surprised when the series died. Ever since Kubo started to copy, bit by bit, the damsel in distress plotline Twice, on a roll.. the guy didn't even waited).. On that moment, I already realized the series was going to die soon. It got even worse than I initially assumed, the conclusion of that whole espada/aizen thing was such a disaster. It seems the next arc got even more terrible, lol On that point I acknowledge that must people expected a decline of quality, but not such a severe decline. And lastly, if we had to use a real standard to exemplify success, if Naruto failed or not in comparison to the current king, One Piece... Well, hard to say, on a popularity standpoint Naruto is definitely as successful as OP. On a quality standpoint, not really a comparison, One Piece is superior in every way.

@Rafael, I'm not going to say Bleach was as good a series by comparison, it isn't (especially compared to One Piece), but it wasn't without virtue. It was a series with some really strong points that were counter-balanced by its flaws and then, ultimately, smothered by them alongside limitations of Kubo that arose as the series dragged on longer than it should have. It isn't that there was nothing of substance to begin with though... you were missing the merits if that was your takeaway. There's a big difference between not appreciating a work and there being nothing there to appreciate. I could probably do a small novela on objective criticism for the series based on how much there ended up being to comment on, so to keep it short, bullet-point virtues (and their failings): 1) Really interesting themes rarely seen in Japanese narratives, original plot concepts that served well to explore complex ideas and questions.... that spent the early part of the series sort of like oasis surrounded by deserts of fight scenes, and later sort of were buried and forgotten entirely 2) A really sizeable cast of quirky, memorable, and enjoyable characters, some of the more detailed of which were genuinely interesting and complex... almost all of which were eventually backseated, overshadowed, and eventually entirely neglected 3) A lot of passion and creativity on the part of the author as a result of him being a manga fan turned manga-ka... that pretty rapidly gave way to becoming masturabutory and self gratifying as he was too in love with his own ideas and embraced canned cool tropes over creativity 4) Systems of combat and power battles that made for riveting fights that were set pieces for some truly novel power ideas and cerebral battles... That became way too frequent, over powerered, and eventually crutches to a series losing most of what it used to stand on. 5) If talking about the anime, an absolutely stellar soundtrack that is easy to take for granted because of how often tracks are repeated because even half a dozen discs only go so far with over 300 episodes, but if considered individually are triumphs in setting the mood (as a bonus, the titles speak very clearly to intended themes of the series that were ultimately abandoned) I don't recommend Bleach to people because it turns into such a damn slog to get to them, but it's a series with some really stellar moments and I don't begrudge myself the time spent on it because I was able to enjoy them. Renji vs. Byakuya, Tousen vs. Konamura and Hisagi, Ichigo vs. Ginjo, even Ichinose vs. Kenpachi... Being true to yourself vs expectations, Justice vs Mercy, broken trust and whether to choose forgiveness or resentment, remorse for change and myopia towards adaptation... there were a lot of "fights" in that series that made for incredible moments not because of the animation or battle or wits elements, but because of the ethical, ideological, and emotional conflicts they represented the characters debates as they meet blades. Yes it was lost in the clutter of fan-baiting with fight scenes and power reveals, yes it went on way longer than it needed to or should, but there was substance to Bleach... it just was mixed in with a lot of flak.

I don't agree with the Madara point. To me he gave the series one of it's greatest villains. He had a legitimate point, he truly believed he was right, and finally he was strong enough to back it up. He was one of the first characters since Orochimaru that had that feeling of he is just way too strong. He gave the story a threat. He should have been the final enemy of the series. Cheesing him with Kaguya made his arc cheaper. It took all of the great motivations and drive of his character and turned it into a Bmovie plot twist. He is IMO one of the greatest wastes of a a character in the series.

It's because J.K. Rowling owns full rights to Harry Potter. Her value was about the same until the movies happened. Since unlike the Shonun artists J.K. Rowling actually owns the intellectual property she got a slice of all the tickets and dvd sales as well as all the merchandise. Self publishing a manga however is next to impossible as you have no credibility and without a massive amount of editors and assistants your work will go slow. However I think self-published manga authors are on the rise because of the internet. It eliminates the infrastructure of printers needed and makes small scale manga's easier. The most famous example of this is 1 from Mob 100 and One Punch Man.

I don't know man, I read the entire war in like two weeks and it was some of the most enjoyable manga I've read. I'll admit, the series starts becoming a little bit stale in the Birth of Ten-Tails' Jinchuriki arc, but it's not half as bad as people make it out to be. And most complaints I see on those parts of the story (i.e. "the power levels became too high" or "Neji was right all along") either have absolutely no merit, or stem from simply not understanding the story or the characters (Neji's death, Obito's whole character, Black Zetsu and even Sasuke all come to mind).

I don't think many manga artists would be able to do that. Scratch that, most people wouldn't be able to do that. For me Naruto manga dropped in quality somewhere when Naruto defeated Kakuzu and Pain: it started moving too fast, Naruto was gaining too much power and stories became too crazy. And anime was just low quality most of the time and had lots of fillers so I dropped it everntually.

The only point I disagree with you on HEAVILY is about the character motivations. The whole point is that motivations change over time, particularly based on the growth both age-wise and emotion-wise. Naruto grew up and as he did his motivations became less about gaining acknowledgement and more about protecting those who already acknowledged him. As Naruto's ambition to become hokage evolved from "I want to be recognized" to "I want to protect my loved ones", his ideals surrounding that ambition evolve. Naruto begins not only to embrace the pursuit of the title of hokage, but to pursue the purpose of being hokage, which is to protect the hidden leaf village, which consequently is where all of this loved ones reside. Naruto was also sheltered from the harsh realities of the ninja world as a child, as crazy as that may sound, and you can see his once one-dimensional worldview get challenged by the conflicts he endures over time. It stops being just about him, and starts being about everything he wishes to protect. Jiraiya's death is the straw that broke the camel's back in the transformation of Naruto as a character. Naruto is broken hearted over the loss of his sensei and more importantly, his dearest role model, and states that he wanted Jiraiya to always be watching over him until he became hokage. This is where Naruto comes to the complete realization that his ambitions to become hokage - the ambitions that have been at the epicenter of his entire world up until this point - aren't the only thing in the world that matters. Everything else around Naruto won't remain fixes in place just so he can achieve his dreams, and Jiaiya's death typifies that fact. Naruto then seeks to create a world that his master would have been proud of, and becomes hokage to do so (and of course also to be hokage). I'm in no way saying that Naruto's story is amazing, but up until the end of the Pain arc, Naruto was still really good in my opinion. Even the war could have been good. It was stretched to all hell, but if they had just kept Madara - a villain foreshadowed throughout the series - as the final boss and not made him stupidly unbeatable to the point where Kishimoto needed to write him out of the plot to progress the story, it could've been decent. The power scaling is obviously also a huge issue. Naruto did have to become the strongest hokage, but he didn't need to get literal God powers to do it, ans they didnt need to make the final boss and alien either. Sorry for the rant.
@ARandomGuy246 жыл бұрын
The problem is I want to protect my love ones doesn't evolve. There's no progression from that. You always want to protect them from every threat. It was the issue of Bleach after all.

Also his motivation has something to do with peace in the ninja world, not only his loved ones. And in Boruto (manga) we can see that he doesn't know how to balance things, he feels the need to fulfill his duty as Hokage but also to be there for his family, so in a way he is sacrificing his loved ones in order to achieve a peaceful world, that in the end would benefit them but he is also failing Hinata, his sons, and his friends in other ways, and to me that is more interesting and real than Bleach, that it was no real motivation for Ichigo as the series went on but also as he grew up. Naruto went from a child wish to an adult responsibility and the strain on his relationships. I loved the final battle between Naruto and Sasuke, I haven't watch the anime version but in the manga it was beautiful and awful, but some of the previous fights, like vs Kaguya, well... to this day I still don't know what to think of it as a whole, but most of the time I was laughing because it felt so out of place.
@egorapter6 жыл бұрын
Reid Pattis yes but how do you compensate for lack in evolving motivation? Context How you go about obtaining said goal, the barriers formed to onstruct you, the people themselves In bleach, keeping loved ones safe equated to, sit and react to threats In Naruto, Naruto is literally turning the foundation of their modern society on it's head One is keeping the status quo, the other is changing it. It's just too different and naruto's is more interesting in how they go about it

As a character, Madara was interesting, though not as interesting as Nagato or Obito who had been previously built up as the main villains. Where Madara really suffered was as an antagonist: as an antagonist, he was the ultimate example of power creep; pulling a ton of abilities out of nowhere in ways that broke established rules solely so he could shrug off everything the heroes threw at him. He was a boring invincible villain.

@@Thewritingelf The war being long made room for a lot of development with a lot of different side characters. It also made the whole thing more epic in scale (in my opinion of course). Also, ending a series whose themes focus heavily on piece and understanding, it makes sense for the series to end with an all out war, even if you didn't like the way it had been executed (I personally loved it, and I'd love to discuss why if you want to get into it). I understand that towards the end, between Madara becoming the ten-tails' jinchuriki and Kaguya's appearance, it does get stale, especially if you were reading it week-to-week (I read it all at once, which I'm sure made quite a difference). But that staleness comes from the unchanging scenery mostly, and the often irritatingly paced growth of the chakra tree. That said though, this is a relatively small part of the war (around 25 chapters), and throughout the whole thing the circumstances, ways of fighting, the settings, the conditions, the themes and especially the characters involved are ever-changing. It was fun, it was quick-paced, almost every fight was either thematically relevant (Hanzo vs Mifune, Sasuke and Itachi vs Kabuto, Naruto and Killer B vs the Jinchuriki) or tied up loose ends (Sai vs Shin, Kankuro vs Sasori, Kakashi vs Zabuza and Haku, Gaara vs Rasa, Team 10 vs Asuma). And all of those are just from the edotensei part of the war. Like I said, the circumstances are ever-changing.

Overall I feel like Naruto kinda failed to actually follow its own principles. The show told us that hard work beats genius and that fate isn't set in stone,yet the most powerful characters are only that strong because of some sort of power that they were born with/that was gifted to them. Rock Lee,the one character who was supposed to show that hard work pays off didn't win any important fights(in fact he only ever won against his own doppelgänger). And later it turns out that naruto is the child of a prophecy and Neji dying for Hinata,showing that fate is indeed a thing. Heck in the one battle that preaches these messages the most(Naruto vs Neji),Naruto only wins because of the ninetailed fox,which is a power that was gifted to him(yeah he had to train to learn how to use it,but its still something that no one else could have used in such a situation)

Bluelore I like how you ignore Guy, and Naruto wasn't destined to end the Ashura/Indra feud.
@altermann19918 жыл бұрын
Jovana Sanchez I admit Guys performance towards the end was indeed pretty good and in my opinion one of the best scenes of the whole final arc.It still doesn't make up for the fact that Lee is so outclassed by so many,simply because they get to be born with an op kekkei genkai. Also Naruto and Sasuke were both born as the reincarnation of the sons of Hagoromo and thus received a final power up in the last arc,which is another power that was given to them. Heck Naruto was even part of at least 2 prophecies,as Hagoromo foresaw that one would reunite the beasts(though not as the tentails),which referred to Naruto again.
@JovanaSanchez0008 жыл бұрын
Bluelore Actually, only the bigger villains have eye hax and most people can't beat them either, and Lee can probably beat anyone with a lower speed than him. If Lee learned the 7th gate in part 2, he'd beat even more people! IIRC, Hagoromo's power was the only power that Naruto got for free right away. While he did have Kurama's chakra, he couldn't draw out a lot of it, and had to control it or he would end up releasing Kurama.
@altermann19918 жыл бұрын
Jovana Sanchez I really doubt that Lee could beat Kisame or Kakuzu.And in general the fact stands that Lee never achieved any important victory throughout the whole series. And while naruto had to work to be able to draw from the foxs chakra,its still something that only he could do and in the end it gives him a huge powerboost that would be impossible to achieve for most other ninjas.
@JovanaSanchez0008 жыл бұрын
Bluelore "...probably best anyone with a lower speed than him" Kisame and Kakuzu aren't one of them. Guy defeated Kisame with seven gates, Lee probably would have done the same thing if he had seven gates. Lee didn't achieve a victory because he fought characters that could kick anyone's butt at the time. In Gaara's case, Sasuke also couldn't beat him and it took an asspull for Gaara to beat Lee. Kimimaro was probably a really bad match up. Though, NINE TAILED powered up Naruto couldn't dent Kimimaro, and Gaara only won because Kimimaro was dying! If Naruto didn't work to be able to draw the fox's chakra, he would have released Kurama whenever he drew too much that he could handle.

The very nature of the shounen manga industry itself is why it is an inferior method of writing and producing for anime. Not insulting it or anything, and I am glad people succeed in it, but the work treatment and the constantly unnecessary editor revisions and the arbitrary nature of the shounen audience makes it an unfavorable work environment. The inhumane demand for deadlines and revisions is unnecessary and should be circumvented entirely by letting the shounen manga industry burn out. I would rather go into the novel or light novel industry, which has a lighter schedule and much more preferable work conditions.
@MrMarinus185 жыл бұрын
Anime is more expensive so they like making it based on a manga. After all a manga has already proven itself so if you make an anime based on it not only will you have that but you also have a pre-established fanbase who will watch it no matter what. The reason they like manga over novels is because novels are very different from moving picture and so requires a lot of reworking. This both complicates the process and will likely alienate a lot of the fans, negating the benefits of using an established property. A manga already has fully detailed designs and clear ways on how characters move and express themselves so it's a much easier translation. An example is Nasaka from Myazaki which was rejected because it wasn't a manga. Many say nasaka was based on a manga but it's actually the reverse. Myazaki couldn't sell the idea because it was expensive and untested. So he started making it into a manga. From what I understand though this wasn't in bad faith as the people at the studio really liked his ideas and gave the manga their full support. It was just the rules they had and they had to stick to them.

The series I believe is fucking great up to the end of the Pain saga. Before the ninja war arc, a few side-characters were used properly, such as Asuma, Shikamaru, Sakura, Jiraia and such. Afterwards, literally NO ONE ELSE mattered other than the OP zombies, Naruto, and Sasuke out of nowhere at the end. Rock Lee and Neji were done the most disservice in Shippuden. Sure it had a few great moments, such as Obito vs Kakashi and Guy vs Madara, but all that awesomeness could have been done without such a huge "war" going on, and having Naruto vs Sasuke fight it out at the end without the sage of six path' mother bullshit story or whatever. Which is to say that if someone stops making something, then the consumer can opine on how horrible an author is (which can damage an author's reputation). Yes, the fans guide the social rules... but it is not correct to say that they are the cause that make creators create.

I actually remember the last chapter I read was when Madara showed up, but real-life issues prevented me from continuing. However, the fade of interest also kept me getting back into the series until finally this year. I like Shippudden and skipped all the fillers, but it was horrible watching so many great characters getting sidelined due to absurd power gaps. Us as fans never getting Rock Lee vs Neji is borderline criminal, and so is the lack of character in any female character outside of Tsunade. However it does have many great moments as well, and I won't lie about tearing up when Jiarya met his fate or discovering Itachi's tragic past. This was a very different take on how the series progressed and dwindled in popularity, and I really like it. I can't say I ever really thought about just how much BIGGER fights were later on, and not necessarily in impact or length, but in physical scale. And yeah, actually thinking on it now, that was a pretty big problem. WARNING: If you read this, be warned that this is long, and covers opinions and comparisons between all three of the "Big Three" series. I'd like to say that all of these are simply to strengthen the overall argument, but I'll put a TLDR at the top just in case. I did provide examples of why I believed each of these points in each section though, so if you are curious, please pardon my long-winded nature and enjoy the read. TLDR: Naruto lacks sub-plots that affect the overarching goal after a certain point. Bleach never had an overarching goal, so it fell faster as a result. One Piece has MANY overarching goals with many meaningful sub-plots that cannot be written off due to their impact on the main goal. The series never 'fell' in the same sense that Bleach did, because unlike Bleach readers knew what the end goal was, and were reading to find out how it got to that point. Bleach... had no conclusive point beyond Aizen, and even then, Aizen wasn't ICHIGO'S enemy, but he was the Soul Society's enemy. You'll have to pardon me here, cause I'm going to expand on this in order to convey my point despite this being a Bleach issue and not a Naruto issue. That distinction has a bigger impact than you might think. Lets face it, if Orihime wasn't kidnapped by Aizen, would Ichigo actually have a reason to even fight him till it was too late? And Aizen, the methodical and intelligent, completely ignored the fact that Ichigo was the one enemy he wasn't set up to fight. He had a plan for every other character, including his own allies, due to his Zanpakto. Ichigo was a factor he didn't seem to account for though, and that sort of negates the impact he had in two big ways. It didn't fit Aizen's character, and it made him kidnapping Orihime add enemies he could not keep in check for no reason. Again, would Ichigo have bothered to go to Hueco Mundo if Orihime hadn't been taken. No. He had no reason. He had no stake in that fight until Orihime was taken, so we could only gather one thing from that. Orihime would be rescued. But... that wasn't even the end of that arc, it was just another piece of the journey that had no real destination. This is all ignoring Ywatch, cause... he wasn't really all that important to the plot till he finally popped up. He was just another one-off baddie who had a very long story arc, whereas Aizen's plot took place over at least 3 all by itself (Soul Society - pushed for Rukia's execution and thus led Ichigo and the others to show up, Hueco Mundo - His plot unfolds, and he kidnaps Orihime to allegedly push this forward. Fake Karakura - The final arc for Aizen's main plot, and his eventual fall at the hands of Ichigo) Back to Naruto, for a direct comparison. Throughout the series, Naruto has had two goals, one from the beginning, one from the middle. Become Hokage, and bring Sasuke back to Konoha. Readers could take a really good guess at how the series was going to end right there. Is that a bad thing though? No. This makes everything leading to that point mean more, because you get to know the journey to that goal. Its a classic story-telling method. You know the beginning and you know the end, so the only thing that matters at that point is what connects them. In that way, several of the story arcs become a little more impactful to the whole of the story, as it is Naruto's journey to achieve those two goals. What everyone else was after was sub-plot, and while it was interesting and added a lot to the story, it wasn't completely necessary to get to that goal. That is where Naruto fell, is the other characters beyond Naruto and Sasuke didn't feel like they added as much to the story as they could have if their character arcs had more impact on the progression of the story. I'm not saying they didn't, cause many of them had a HUGE impact... but not all of them. You'd probably notice that it started to become less important what happened to the other cast members around the time the timeskip happened. Did team Guy grow from helping Naruto rescue Gaara? Not really. Did Gaara being rescued have any impact on Naruto's character progression? Not really. Did Asuma dying and his team seeking to avenge him affect Naruto's character progression? That was an entire arc, and it had almost ZERO impact on Naruto, as he was doing his own thing. The only ones that mattered were Naruto and Sasuke, as everyone else just sort of played tiny roles and faded into the background. Kishimoto's downfall was his plot not having enough room for these characters to have the impact they had before the timeskip happened. Even the big baddies of the series, Madara and Kaguya, were just another plot point to bring Naruto and Sasuke to their final fight. They had very little impact on how that fight went besides the power ups that the two got from those fights. But unlike Aizen, they still acted as plot points that helped lead to the conclusion that everyone was waiting for, albeit not in the way they may have wanted. I apologize for making this so long, but I have one more example here, to tie this up. One Piece, the last of the big three. One Piece as a series is about Luffy's adventure to find One Piece... but because of the mystery that is One Piece EVERY CHARACTER CAN MAKE AN IMPACT! The adventure becomes less about finding One Piece as it is about the world Luffy is exploring, and the people he meets who make an impact on his life, or who are impacted by his actions. And since characters who appeared to be one-off baddies can and will return, and sometimes play a role in how Luffy pushes forward - the greatest examples being Buggy, Mr. 2, Mr. 3, and Crocodile (Mr. 1 as well I suppose, but he had less impact on Luffy's escape than he did Crocodile's, though that isn't entirely a bad thing as that still connects to Luffy) during the Impel Down arc. Would the story be the same without them? No actually. Each of them made an impact on the story, even if it was just as simple as making sure Luffy made it out of Impel Down alive. And One Piece goes further than this, since it isn't just Luffy's defined journey, but the journeys of EVERY CHARACTER! Zoro's struggles to become the greatest swordsman, and how each fight helps him grow. Nami's dream of charting the world's oceans is pushed by simply moving forward. Usopp's hopes of becoming a true man - like the warriors he looks up to from Elbaf, and like his father Yasopp - are guided by his slowly finding just how outclassed he is and trying to do his best to still push onward. Sanji's hopes of finding the All Blue... well, we'll ignore that one for now, cause I feel like this latest arc will show a bit more depth to his character even from this point forward. Chopper's aspiration to find a cure for every disease marches forward with his medical skills growing as he has to help the crew with more and more injuries. Robin's quest to find out the history behind the Void Century, and read all the Poneglyphs scattered around the world marches forward as she goes around the oceans with the crew. Franky's dream of making a ship that sails to Raftel will be completed by making sure the Thousand Sunny makes it there. Brook's promise to see Laboon again after dying in the Florian Triangle and being revived are pushed forward by his moving further and further along the Grand Line, hoping to cross the Red Line again at the end in order to find Laboon and share all his memories with his dear friend. This point is long-winded, but I think it shows kind of what I'm saying. Each character has a end-goal that you know they will reach, but how they reach their goals is what is important. I don't really think you can say the same for most of Naruto's characters, and I KNOW you can't with most of Bleach's cast, including Ichigo. Even knowing how old this video is, I feel this is still a very relevant topic for any manga lover, so I'm still going to leave this comment here. For anyone who read the entire thing, thank you so much for having the patience to read through my rant. I hope this at least made you think about what you feel was done wrong or right with all three of these beloved series.

Borno Nur Thank you. Seeing this comment was actually incredibly awesome. I didn't actually expect many people to care to read it if I'm being honest. So it really made my day seeing this in my notifications. However, I'm not sure I'd have the confidence to make videos, or even physically speak about these things on the internet. I won't say I couldn't, cause I tend to over-analyze games and anime simply because I am looking for inspiration, but it is usually internal monologues, or long-winded comments like this one that come from it. I'm trying to get into game design so that I can eventually create something that could use story telling elements like my favorite works - like One Piece. One Piece is actually my biggest inspiration if I'm honest. Every detail is so well thought out, and there are so many things to latch onto and theorize on. Nothing is perfectly clear, but they are defined in such a way that readers can enjoy the mystery and adventure. On top of that, everything in the world of One Piece makes sense within the rules of its world. Devil Fruits have clear powers and limits - I'll use Buggy as the best example. Buggy's power allows him to split his body freely and without limit... except that his feet need to be on a platform of some form, even if that platform is another person's arms, and his body parts can only go so far from his body. It is a fantastical power that makes no sense in our reality... but they follow logic and rules that actually make a lot of sense. I'm probably not helping my initial point about my lack of confidence, but typing or writing out these sorts of things comes very easily. I enjoy them, and I sometimes keep what I type out for my own reference. These actually aren't even points I actively think about often, but when I really get into it the words just flow out. I'll randomly have something make me think of these things and can literally go hours thinking on these topics and going over any and all details I can to support my arguments, even if I never present it to anyone. I don't think I can make a story that could hold a candle to any of these series, even with the thousands of ideas that flow into my head, but I just want to create something that people can enjoy, like I enjoy these excellent stories as I have enjoyed my favorites. Even if one person finds that enjoyment through something I make, that will be a roaring success in my eyes. I'm sort of cheesy and old-fashion in that sense. I sort of ended up typing a whole bunch again, so I'll wrap this up with this - Thank you. Your comment is appreciated, and really made my day that much better.

Nakazora Gen This comment really made me think about my favorite anime (Naruto) a lot. Your right about the minor Characters having little to no character development, which is sad because it would have been cool to see the other teams grow in a cool way. Like they all should have had some good character development, like shino, kiba, hinata, ino, tenten, and especially sakura should have started to train harder after the chunin exams. Because I believe they should have seen that they are lacking in several aspects of being a ninja that, they should have started to train their butt's off to become stronger. Team asuma should started to train harder in order to get revenge against hidan, kurenai should've had her team train with guy to work on their taijutsu (especially shino) after the their first mission out of the village. Kakashi should've been serious with team 7 from the beginning, especially after meeting them and after testing them in the genin exams, same thing with asuma and kurenai. I think that everything I just mentioned would've been good for all of the rookie 9, especially teams 7 & 8.

The “Picollo effect” was what ended my time with the series. The battles towards the end of the series just didn’t resemble anything even hinted at with the earlier chapters, where even higher tier characters used relatively tame jutsu. There are no hints of super powered Susano’o or ocular powers that allowed you to destroy armies by yourself. It just stopped being about ninjas and became a DBZ-lite kind of story. The plot and some of the villains still interested me, but overall I just couldn’t recognize it as the same story Kishimoto likely had in mind back in Part 1-mid Shippuden. Anyway, fantastic analysis; you deserve all the attention you’re getting, and probably more. Keep up the great work 👍🏻

I think there's an easy fix for filler in Naruto, and that's to make it about someone else: Give one of the supporting characters some time in the spotlight. People would have loved a Rock Lee arc, or another Shikamaru (best boy) arc. Or give Tenten some screen time.
@ChidoriReaper8 жыл бұрын
They probably would still say no, but I support your idea. Could be good character development for the minor characters and further solidify their motivations especially when they grow older.
@LookingForAName...8 жыл бұрын
They still can't have any major change, because even the secondary characters have to be consistent. The best kind of filler would be in the past (yes, it would break the flow, jumping from present to past, but the series breaks the flow as is, giving you filler in the middle of intense moments)
@Xinoxlx8 жыл бұрын
It could work since One Piece does similar things after a major arc completes. The one that sticks out is the Water 7 when episodes use half their run-time to follow one member of the crew. Like Sanji's episode on salt is actually one of my favorites.
@thakillman78 жыл бұрын
They did. They made filler about just about anything. But the problem with Naruto filler is: *it usually starts off pretty cool *It slumps and goes in stupid directions *the final episode wraps everything up with asspulls.
@GrandArchPriestOfTheAlgorithm8 жыл бұрын
+Troudeculinos 1: Filler set in the past is the worst kind of filler, because it's blatant about it being filler. The best kind of filler is the filler that doesn't feel like filler. The second best (or maybe this is the best, it's debatable) is the kind that fix problems:Like how many characters disappear into the background. 2: It doesn't need to break flow. If you're strategic about it; setting them in the downtime between arcs. I know there was a problem later, with the later boss fights, but that's why you're pushing it early on, with longer filler arcs. The reason people tend to hate filler is because ut breaks flow, this way it doesn't. People are also more tolerant of it if it's about fan favorites doing awesome things.

I'm still hoping they'll do a Naruto: Brotherhood-esque reboot where they polish the animation, cut out all the fat, and just entirely do away with the ninja war arc. I bet they could get it down to 150-ish episodes, and since they have Boruto running now, there's plenty of Naruto-related media to occupy fans while they take their time to really turn it up to 11 in quality. Other things I think would be awesome is revisiting Sakura's character and place in the story as, stated here, she got entirely tossed aside when Shippuden went full Naruto v. Sasuke. Reworking Sai and Yamato would also be nice, and especially since they cut out the ninja war arc, they'd have a lot more room to maintain the other characters' power levels and relevance as well to really unify the feeling of the two series presented as one and retain the charming ensemble cast feeling Naruto had.

I like Naruto for the same reason I dislike Naruto: Shippuuden, and that reason being that Naruto was about working hard to achieve your goals while Shippuuden is about being born into a goal-worthy state. Think about it. Naruto in the first series is all about working hard and doing your best because you can't just stumble into being powerful, but that's exactly what Naruto does in the second series. Naruto was born an Uzumaki, thus accounting for his large amounts of chakra and stamina, and his ability to get up when severely beaten down. He's Asura's reincarnation and has his chakra, meaning that Naruto's determination isn't even rightfully his. He only mastered Sage Mode because he was born with two practitioners in his family who could bring him back to learn it, he's distantly related to the Senju meaning that he's able to master techniques far faster than other people and not only that but because he's an Uzumaki he's matched Sage Modes minimum requirements for "extreme amounts of chakra" by default...That's something neither his dad or even his God Father could do, and they practiced it for years while he took only a few DAYS. Then, not only do we learn that he's gifted with all of these circumstances, we're told that he was DESTINED to save the world. A concept Naruto actively fought against as a kid, is wholeheartedly accepted in Shippuuden. Naruto's hard work is devalued to absolute zero at that point because it means Naruto's personality, his traits, his determination and all of that were pre-approved by some force outside of the series from the beginning. Naruto goes from being a goal-hardened knuckle head to a Puppet of some shadowy force (likely some deity we've never seen or heard of since we've seen things like that exist in the Naruto universe like Death, King of Hell, the afterlife, souls etc.), gifted with everything he ever needed from the very start. That's why I can't stand the second series, the core story just irks me far too much.

gerizzyYMcrew A persons _goals_ and their _determination_ are not the same. They are completely different. Nevertheless, Naruto's desire to become recognized by others, his lack of so called 'talent' and his friendship is the way attitude, does indeed come from Asura since that was his desire too before he died. It simply manifested in the way most recognizable to Naruto, that's all. Asura's determination and optimism and Indra's pessimism and lust for power is what caused their reincarnation's to continually clash throughout the generations. That's a fact stated by the Sage of Six Paths himself. Naruto is an Uzumaki, Uzumaki are gifted with accelerated healing, insane longevity, massive amounts of chakra, nearly inhuman levels of stamina, and due to their connection to the senju, they have the potential to master hundreds, if not thousands of techniques. Naruto is the only master of toad sage in the entire series, his father admits he never mastered it, his god father never mastered it, and he only knows about it because his god father was a toad sage. He could only master the whole thing _because_ the various advantages that were genetically gifted to him allowed him to. In fact, the Toads told Naruto that in order to draw on Natural energy in the first place, you NEEDED "Enormous amounts of Chakra." Do you know why Shadow clones are forbidden jutsu? They place a massive strain on the user's stamina and chakra and can easily KILL it's user. Guess Naruto just happened to luck out that his clan doesn't really worry about these things, huh? And thanks to those clones, and his Uzumaki blood, every jutsu he ever mastered becomes mere childs play. He was outright stated to be destined to become the greatest ninja ever and everything aligned to make sure that happened, so that's what he did. Where am I taking things out of context?
@SalvadorDolbyvsZAWARUDO7 жыл бұрын
gerizzyYMcrew The entire point of my comment is that everything Naruto does he can do because he was BORN special. It isn't about him working hard because if he wasn't born with all those advantages, he never would have amounted to anything regardless of how hard he worked. In fact, let's just take away everything his Uzumaki blood allows him to do and think about what would happen. His shadow clones would have likely killed him so he never would use them, he never would have mastered Rasengan, he never would have mastered Sage Mode, he wouldn't even withstand one third of the damage he regularly does because no Uzumaki stamina, healing, chakra or senju connection means one thing. He would be a dirt poor ninja. The amount of work he puts in is SIGNIFICANTLY decreased due to all of his in-born abilities. In fact, because he can use Shadow Clones so many times in a row and in such massive quantities, Jutsu that usually take months can be learned in _hours_. Tell me, how hard do you truly have to work when you work several times more effectively, efficiently, and quantitatively better than everyone else....while also putting in less effort? Everything Naruto is, he only is because he's _Naruto_. It has nothing to do with his hard work because everyone in the series works hard, but because he was born as "The Chosen One" he was able to go farther with less effort. Everyone spent years learning dozens and dozens of jutsu to ensure they would even stand a chance against higher level opponents because their lives were always on the line. Naruto learned 3 in the collective time frame of 2 months and could beat every single one of them because he's basically a god now. Nothing was taken out of context, nothing has been negated, this isn't something you can just ignore. Naruto's hard work turns out to be nowhere near as hard as it would be and should be. Shippuuden says screw all that and attributes Naruto's success to his DNA and nothing more.

Thanks for making this video... Naruto was, is and will always be very special to me. It was literally released in the year I was born and I remember encountering at a young age when I didn't really understand it. When I was twelve, still pretty young, but at an age when I was much more perceptive, I re-started naruto and it pretty much became a very important thing in my life. I have practically grown up with this show and with its characters. While the fillers may have been many, I never felt the loss of charm in Naruto. The plot was still just as heartfelt and the characters just as well-built. There were many points I'd have to agree with you on such as the decline in complexity of character design, which Kishimoto-sensei has admitted to numerous times particularly with Sasuke's design. While he has always said that Sasuke is probably the character he finds most difficult to draw and also the character he spent most time designing, Sasuke became a character he enjoyed drawing specifically because of the challenge in it. But as the series progressed, the quality and detail of Sasuke can be seen to decline. This was so for all the characters overall however this was one specific character that Kishimoto-sensei himself owned up to. To me, the relationship between Naruto and Sasuke is definitely the most precious out of any other characters from any other anime; and I think their story and the depth in their conflict was what made Shippuden so great. I liked both Naruto and Naruto Shippuden equally. After the Naruto ended, I have found myself re-watching many arcs here and there, which I used to do even while the show was ongoing. Naruto is probably the anime I have re-watched/re-read the most, without getting tired of it or without any of the episodes or chapters getting any less fun or emotional.

Sahaita C Oh my god, everything you said was exactly the same for me. Naruto was released at the same year as my birth, I started watching Naruto when I was 12 years old and I am in so much love with it, I don't want it to end. So I have been controlling my urge to watch Naruto and I am still in episode 180 of Shippuden. And until now I have never felt the need to complain about the show, in fact it keeps getting better, though it has lost the fun and charm that the first series had, but can't complain coz it is balanced by other stuff. the reason I see any good anime slowly is that my heart shattered when one of my favourite anime Dragon Ball ended. Will always love Dragon Ball and Naruto.

“Even if a Manga starts weeks ahead of the anime, the anime will catch up” *laughs in JoJo*

~Jojo has breaks between seasons and isn't constantly serialized, the anime would have caught up a while ago if it was.

It also took them literal decades to find a studio who could adapt the manga into an anime competently.

For freaking sure and I wish more people had that kind of patience when it comes to adaptation. A good adaptation can bring even the most dead of series back to life.

okay okaaay i agree with almost everything until this point But did this guy called Madara a bad villain?
@enzojose40015 жыл бұрын
Madara is just like Nagato and Obito, but more op. Pain and Orochimaru would have been a way better final villain.
@ikaro3425 жыл бұрын
Why is he a good one? You know, I love the Uchihas, they are pretty cool, and fuck, I'm willing to accept Itachi escaping Kabuto's Reanimation. But Madara is a crybaby that carried a grudge to everyone, that is somehow able to do whatever the fuck he wants just because plot.
@enzojose40015 жыл бұрын
@Kevin Luna I'm talking about the personality of the villains. Orochimaru would have been an incredible final villain if the show had not overstated the power scale in the final.
@Abdega5 жыл бұрын
He was good until he was revealed and they were fighting him The mystique was gone and it felt like they kept jumping the shark with his power escalation
@Wingcrawler4 жыл бұрын
Kishimoto made madara way too strong throughout his role and thus didn't know how to kill him. So he just left it.

Naruto has had such a profound impact on my life that its hard to explain. Ever since I first graspex anime as an art form after watching Darling in the Franxx, I've been searching for something to fuel that need, that longing for something as meaningful. To my absolute surprise, I found it in form of a quirky show about orphan in ninja village and his hijinks as a shinobi. It took me about a year or so to finish Naruto, Naruto Shippuden, and the dubbed portions of Boruto, and it really opened my eyes on what a cartoon can be. I feel like the show forced me to grow as a person if I wanted yo feel that connection that I been loving for so long. It just a different kind of experience, y'know? I know their are better shows, I know it has many flaws, I know people hate Boruto, and I know people might think of me poorly because I watch the dub, but I don't really care. Because, at the end of the day I have an sort of unbreakable bond with this series, the kind you never quite forget.

alexander arkum aizen is the villain in bleach
@aceotaku8 жыл бұрын
alexander arkum aizen was the main villain of two major arcs in bleach (yes I'm considering the entirety of the arrancar thing as its own arc since I'm not stupid), and was introduced as manipulative, conniving chessmaster....whose plan kinda made no sense and devolved into being literally invincible until the hero beats him and its implied only cause aizen wanted to be beaten for reasons.

I've got to say, after watching some of the series back I've realised that Naruto is actually shockingly well written for the most part. Obviously the war arc had a lot of problems and the pacing was a bit of an issue throughout the series, but it's pretty amazing just how consistent the show was able to keep for as many episodes as it did.

That's why I always thought that hunter x hunter was pure genius writing ! The hiatus that togashi takes every 10 chapters or so gives him a lot of inspiration and creative space that makes the next chapters he does as good as the ones before them.

Naruto is so special to everyone ironically because of the talk-no-jutsu problem and how it instructs you to love and forgive yourself. A psychologist actually wrote a research paper on using the Naruto animanga as a conversational therapy model. Naruto: 1. empathizes with villains; 2. empathizes with unsympathetic friends; 3. develops positive coping mechanisms to deal with a traumatic childhood; 4. has life goals and works towards them; 5. practices forgiveness in a way that doesn't diminish his own valid feelings of hurt; 6. has compassion for strangers; 6. develops a community relationship and isn't hyperindividualistic; 7. etc etc etc. Naruto is basically the poster child for healing from childhood trauma, making him the ideal role model for adolescents everywhere as he is perhaps the best shounen character to vicariously feel your pain and heal from it.
