Sun and Moon were absolutely fantastic. Yeah it had too many cut scenes, and yeah, the festival plaza was... less than optimal. But alola was stunning, trials were super fun, and establishing a league was a great idea.

Gen 7 specifically USUM, were my favorite Pokemon games and favorite Gen. It was the last pokemon main series games where all existing Pokemon can be in a single game card and the last main series games where all battle gimmicks(there were only 2 at the time) are all accessible.

Those were the last games that weren't an unplayable mess on release day. They had some issues but not as bad as the new ones. I'm also not willing to fork over 15€ or whatever for a handful of new Pokemon. It's sad that Nintendo loves killing good games in favor of mediocore ones.

@@DuskLegend Unlikely, Iwata was the guy who ensured that principle. Now he's no longer with us, corporate greed has taken over principle and so they feel as if we should just get what we're given. Just too bad so many of the die hards keep defending them. I'm a first gen player - got Blue back in 98 and never stopped, but even I've condemned Nintendo, Game freak and The Pokemon Company for halfassing since Galar in terms of the types of mon availability among other things.

I don't think there was a black and white effect, everyone I know and remember in the scene at the time loved it when it was out. The only reason people love it more now, is because every game since other than remakes have fallen short of expectations. If Black and White came out on the switch in Sword/Shield graphics for the first time, people would have lost there minds at the improvements

@@ikorraks What killed Black and White was ironically what was just accepted and even defended in Sword and Shield: what was perceived as a dexcut. Black and White went on the premise of only having so many mon in game and didn't say out loud that the national dex was going to be included later - despite that gen pushing the ds to its limit. Sword and Shield however had no such excuse and made no apology for a deliberate dexcutting and it's prowess was far beneath the Switch's capability and yet barely even tried whilst foistering the audacity to make people pay for an extra two areas with nowhere near the full roster.

keep in mind that Sun and Moon were compatible with Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, the Ultra games had Island Scans and the Kanto Starters were possible through that as an encounter, using a Beast Ball would be annoying and time consuming but it would be possible to catch either of those in 1.

I personally loved SM/USUM. One of my favorite generations to go back to. Although the online was questionable, especially with the GTS. All the hacked trades were such a mess, causing the game to crash and force you to hard reset your system. But other than the online function, these games were great. Plus these games are still one of the only games where every single Pokemon was present in the game. (besides HOME or GO)

You could get Charmander and other starters using the mode that I can't remember exactly what it was called, but you could scan random QR codes and it would make special pokemon generate for a limited time. It was quite a fun feature

I think it is possible to get the earlier starters (I think specific ones were locked to SM vs. USUM), through Island Scan. Fairly tedious process though since what you get depends on the day of the week

I just picked up playing Ultra Sun for like the 3rd time, it’s been a while but after BDSP, Sw/Sh, and even S/V I really really see how much these games gave us. They’re not perfect but I adore them. They’re my favorites I think. I’m 37 and have been playing since I was a 10 year old girl and play now with my son. I just love these games and the post game was S tier.

Gen 7 is the only Gen I skipped most of. I beat moon within launch year. But the rest I never finished. I beat ultra moon last year and loved it. And currently playing ultra sun as a dream team shiny team quest thing.

Hey everyone I could really use some advice. I have a 3ds xl and I have omega ruby on my ds. For a while I was using power-saves to get items and everything for the game. However just last night when I was trying to get ampharos and attached my cartridge into my 3ds it says it got corrupted. Now every time I place my cartridge in the slot remains empty (9) (s) (s) I'm nervous what should I do? Even my powersaves is telling me that my game which I always plugged my game to says it's unsupported. Any advice anything will help I just want to return it to Normal. Is there anything way to fix this?! Anything will help 😢

Do you have "automatic backups" enabled on PowerSaves? Also, if you have other CFW you might be able to extract the save and take a look at it with PKHeX.

Nintendo are ACTUALLY messed up for their business practices in gaming. I turned on my 3ds today to give Omega Ruby another playthrough and saw a message on the pss that trading is now discontinued, thank you for my services?!?.. It's almost pointless playing the 3d games as Wonder Trade & GTS made multiple playthroughs with different party's of pokemon That much better. No to mention the fact they don't keep their older games in circulation in physical or digital form, leading to Pokemon B&W & BW2 to cost anywhere from £75-250 in store or online. People think Sony & Microsoft suck, which they do, but Nintendo be getting away pickpocketing you then tapping you on the shoulder to say that They (Sony/Microsoft) did it... Here's a Zelda game.
