That was... nothing like the Rosechu comic. 🤣 Have you guys done My Immortal yet? Or Empress Teresa? You could do an AO3 dive into the 'Crackfic' tag, or pairings with the fewest number of fics (really hilarious stuff to be found there like Dobby/Hagrid, Hermoine/Giant Squid.)

Thing about Empress Teresa is when you think about it, its basically Sonichu in book form. Obviously the first thing you'd think is the author (Norman) is really easily pissed off and cannot ignore criticism, so that's comparable to Chris, but the stories turn out very similar: Self insert character gets unlimited powers from a mystic source, then proceeds to thank god for it. Around 80% of the story is the author just ranting about things they dislike for no reason. Tacky inserted romance Also weird messed up Religious views, whilst Normans views are somewhat better defined (And usually more intolerant), it still has massive conflicts, such as simping for Joan of Arc, but really, REALLY hating France, and Notre Damme in particular.

It's funny how Chris' storytelling hasn't improved at all since Issue #0. There's no effort to tell an organic story, Chris just writes himself into the comic by having Sonichu dream about him, then he goes to CWCville Mall and Chris is there, purely so he can exposistion dump all over Sonichu. Delivering that information in the most forced and uncreative way imaginable like reading off a script.

Like the writers cannot just tell the story through the characters actions. No, the characters need to spell out what they're going to do before they do it in the most inorganic way possible.

It's good this was the last he wrote, there's no way he cares to continue where the retcon issue continue or go back to the comics, he rather play Jesus, stream, and do god knows what to people and cry about Gen 5 MLP. It's funny whenever Chris bothers to write scenes with Kel & Rosechu they *almost* feel like two people having a conversation (though Kel has no filter and Rosechu gives non-answers) and Rosechu is actually allowed to figure things out. Until Bubbles just shows up randomly to drop more exposition. Meanwhile Chris just writes himself into Sonichu's story via a dream and dumps exposistion on Sonichu in a way no sane person would. There's no journey of discover or figuring things out, Chris just takes over Sonichu's story and convinces him to trust him implicitly when Sonichu barely knows Chris. Magi-Chan also makes for a convenient plot device to move things along.

Can't believe you're the only channel I've watched read the Sonichu comics that managed to get past the classic comics cause others stopped due to complications. I hate that this was more tolerable than most of the "modern"/post-classic comics due to Chris trying to steal/edit a better story that & the fact it managed to just be a retelling in a way of the original comics without painful walls of text/lore dumps the last couple comics had(I mean there's walls of text but the other shit due to the idea guys was painful to deal with)

Okay, I can't believe what I'm going to write, but here it goes. Much has been said about ChrisChan displaying absolutely no improvement in his artstyle over the decades (!!!) of drawing Sonichu. But I accidentally clicked from like Episode 3 to this one and... I am astounded. Not by the scale of the improvement, no - but the mere fact that I DID in fact notice it. It's like, Sonichu #1 was drawn by a 7-year old kid, and this one is like drawn by a 10-year old kid. The changes are subtle, but present. Characters have more expressions. The weird angles of the limbs is much less severe. Sonichus look like rubber action figures twisted in sick ways by a kid having a tantrum much more rarely. There are actually some things in the background instead of just mere faces hanging around the empty background and walls of text. Let's take this page for example, 22:06, Rosechu looks like she's actually in the scene rather than in a pose that Christian usually uses to.... Oh. Wait. This is just Rosechu's Story re-drawn by Chris Chan, right? Ok. I take it all back.

Chris Chans comment about politics is one of those things I feel break the veil he puts on, like when he tried to hide his sign and such. I think it shows his true character more than he would like to. I also love that the one time he does any retcons or anything its to make his world even more fucking boring than it already was. It seems like Chris doesn't know the rules of visual storytelling. Show don't tell, instead he fills the pages with more words than drawings and gives too much information and retcons so much of the story that's will be confusing to anybody who reads sonichu, chris pretty much sucks at storytelling
