Erm... what I said was Zeo's finale... wasn't Zeo's finale. (Not that the actual finale for Zeo was a finale at all). I somehow Mandela Effected myself into thinking that Zeo's "A Season to Remember" was the final episode. That is false. It's actually Good as Gold. OOPS. Turns out, that one episode is out of order in my library. That probably explains that. So uh... do me a favor and cover your ears and eyes for that section. Don't skip ahead, just cover them and meditate for a minute.

In Space/Lost Galaxy/Lightspeed Rescue felt like a trilogy of great finales, and a big part of that has to be how 95% of those endings were completely US made footage. Using the Sentai finale footage as a prelude to the actual finale was a genius move and a great way to raise the stakes right before everything hits the fan. Plus all 3 used some great downtown Los Angeles location shooting to really raise the scope of the final attack.

Agreed and well said! I should've pointed it out but yeah, it was smart on them for using the Sentai finale in that way. I think that's the about the best cast scenario of adapting. Cause it's not just them taking that ending and remaking it, or doing something 100% original. It's about them taking what made the ending so good and going further with it with their own twist. I'm so surprised someone is so spot on to the last detail about their opinion, almost like it was me stating it. I literraly don't have to add anything more to what you said. And you must be the only person other than me that has described those three as a trilogy. Indeed for me those three seasons feel more connected thematically to each other, than lost galaxy is to in space according to others. Thematically, they all so a post-invaded humanity rising through its darkest hour to take the lead as the only defenders of good left in the universe, in Lost Galaxy without ranger powers of their own yet, in Lightspeed with their first-made ones and in time force with the pinacle of ranger powers realised where the only threat humanity has left to face is its own dark side of bias and discrimination against one another (humans and mutants basically). But the main point of my comment is that I am surprised someone has seen those season in the same light as I did and has reached the same conclusion.

Jungle Fury wasn't just the one where the villains didn't invaded and wrecked the Rangers base, it was the one where the Red Ranger invaded and wrecked the villains base. Thanks Casey, you absolute madlad!

I think the problem is that they are writing for kids, teaching the good values and putting out happy endings and also not thinking too hard because they’re kids and thinking “wow cool laser!” It’s not a problem per say but maybe why the endings are how they are

I think that's part of the answer. Only reason I say that is because there were mandates put in place on the writing staff to make it kid friendly starting with Samurai. By Beast Morphers, they eased off of that and they were practically gone by Cosmic Fury. Whether it be influence from either Nickelodeon or Haim Saban (who issued the mandates), that was no longer the case come Cosmic Fury and the overall writing still suffered. I just don't think the staff on the show really knew where they could take it/were passionate to take risks. This isn't a fault to them, they did their jobs. But it's the difference between someone who cares about what they're making and someone who may just be doing it because it's a job (which is 100% totally valid btw).

Coutdown to Destruction and The end of time are great, but my favorite finale is "The End of Power Rangers" from Wild Force. Seeing the rangers losing their power and still fighting (with everthing taking place at night and raining) it was pretty epic and perfectly capture one the key messages in the franchise: With or without powers, the rangers never give up and keep fighting (something that Overdrive drop the ball in their crossover Once a Ranger).

- In Hurricane they pretty much due their “Hur….Ri….Cane!!!” Finisher on the big bad. - Abaranger’s final fight was them just destroying the big bad with a final mech battle, Basically the episode where Zeltrax pilots his own robot in Dino Thunder before the finale. - mystic force’s finale was pretty much just the Magiranger finale, just changing “I have courage” into “I believe in magic” - Gekiranger had a pretty different finale from Jungle Fury. They still both had the fight where they fought Daishi/Long in his big dragon monster form, but in Gekiranger that wasn’t the actual final fight but rather Long then became small and in order to beat him, the gekiranger’s had to learn dorinki from Rageku, Kata and Maku. Something that jungle fury totally took out

Love for Jungle Fury in chat and Lightspeed in the video, i'm sold. Now the Final Fury is incredible, as a growth of the team, presence of the masters, the original rangers and even Jared and Camille joining the team, it's poetic if you think about Casey's POV, he didn't gave up on Jared, and Jared didn't gave up on himself, Camille saw that she could be better, even disguised, made a nice friendship with Lilly and saw Jared under Daishi's influence, Theo learned to accept mistakes and use instincts more than knowledge, RJ is a great teacher and also could grow and learn during the season and also Don got a good understanding on not being so carefree, but, not pushing himself too much to make silly mistakes while trying to help, this is my favorite season alongside Lightspeed Rescue, both endings show us that not just being Power Rangers makes them heroes, but also, trusting each other, accepting their differences, teaching new things along the way and most important of all: NEVER GIVING UP UNTIL YOU'RE OUT OF OPTIONS. You can kamikazi to destroy your megazord, deal with THOUSANDS OF DEMONS to rescue a friend or give up being a Master just to be kicked out by your own old master, from the same order you once were part of, just to purge the big bad evil spirit that's taking control of one of the most skillful students of said order, just because YOU KNOW IT'S THE RIGHT THING TO DO (Time Force nod here).

The finales of the Post-Zordon seasons were all just peak fiction. No season since has ever ended on such a high note. Though the SPD finale is also pretty great, imo. The B-team’s fight with their evil superiors, Cruger’s final fight with Grumm, and Jack retiring and Sky earning his title as a full time leader. Some really nice full circle moments from that season.

Dino Thunder couldn't use this attack without losing their power and Mystic Force was able to use this attack bc they were power up by the magic of the people and the mystical creatures.

Those all sound like technicalities. If the basic objective was to "defeat the bad guy," then the point still stands and they had the ability to do so the whole time. I think you get what I mean, so I don't have to be 100% verbally specific when it comes to examples like Lothor. But the Dino Thunder team had no other threats so this is about the same stakes as the writers just giving them a gun that can one-shot Mesogog(s). For Mystic Force, I never got the impression that they had extra magic from the people/mystical creatures. At best, the combined magic from them gave them back their powers and that's really all that we can guess the extent was. I think of it from a writing perspective and see it more as the crowd hyping them up to "believe in magic," despite the circumstances, because a big theme in the season is belief, which allowed them to remorph and essentially have another go. That being said, if it only accomplishes them morphing, then we can likely assume this is just their regular magic that they're simply concentrating.

Starting in Season 2 the show was definitely serialized... both Season 2 and Season 3 make no sense if you don't watch them in order. Especially with the amount of cast changes in Season 2 (introduction of rocky, adam, aisha) and having both the green and white ranger. Season 2 you have the whole story arc of Kim leaving and Kat coming in, Zedd getting married, and multiple megazords...

No main villain going giant as a final threat, no Megazord, just a Power of Friendship Beam (it didn't help that I watched it shortly after finishing Shinkenger and Go-Busters). The reason why dino thunder didnt have a megazord fight with mesagog going giant its mainly due to Mesagog being an original villain and not from abaranger so the US team would need to make their own US megazord fight and since this was only disney's second season, i dont think they wanted to spend the extra money just to make a set as well as fly over the zord suits just to use for 1 fight in the finale, so they just decided to do a ground fight.

When I was a kid, we didn't have complete VHS or DVD releases of a season so I never got to see the end of Lost Galaxy until I got my hands on a foreign release. I only knew Lost Galaxy had a finale because they flashed back to it when they released the team up with Lightspeed Rescue on VHS.

I think they could've had him turn into a Morphin Master without doing things like cheapening his death, demoting him, making utterly boring as a character, etc. Maybe I should've clarified in both this video and my cosmic fury ones that I don't mind him being a Morphin Master. It's just that there's so much collateral to his characterization that it doesn't feel like he's earned it. I think he had potential during the Waking Nightmares episode where confronted his old team. But had they leaned more into the survivor's guilt angle, it would've made his death a lot more impactful. Instead, he's spouting off cool, cool, coolios and eating flargon cakes. He doesn't have to be 100% edgy and dark, but nothing he's done in his past really informs his behavior as a character. And Zordon's spirit absolutely undermines Once and Always. Billy accepted that he had to move on. He chased a dream of bringing back Zordon and paid the price of his friend (Trini) dying. And for him to go wide-eyed at the revelation that Aiyon met him undid that lesson he learned. Once and Always didn't have much going for it, so why undo arguably one of the most mature lessons of "moving forward?"

Have you seen my "Music of Power Rangers" video? I go deeper into the music and I looked all over during the research portion of working on it to find the scores (for all the seasons). I haven't been able to find anything new in the two years since I worked on it but I did mention what little I found. There was a false lead about a month ago when the entirety of Jungle Fury's soundtrack suddenly appeared on Spotify, only for it to be fan ripping the music (and possibly cleaning it up with AI). I believe they've since taken them down. I would absolutely be elated to get my hands on the soundtrack for Lightspeed Rescue and the other Post-Saban and Disney eras.

Lightspeed Rescue is my top fav PR season. I know it may sounds bias becaude it's my childhood. When I was a kid, we don't have much and fortunately, we have DVDs. So, what do you guessed? I watched those DVDs all the time. Replay it all the time despite it's only like 4 episodes for PR Lightspeed Rescue. As I grew up, I still love the season. Plus, I'm glad everyone enjoys it and the music just rocks. Eventually, I got curious about the sentai counterpart and I watched it. In the end, I actually love both, the Sentai and PR. The Sentai involves family theme for the heroes and villains. It makes it more cruel when you think about the Queen was willing to sacrifice her own children in the sentai version. For PR part, I love how they change few parts. Eg, they change how Olympus became this super demon. It's different in both. Enough of me yapping because it'll never end. If anyone willing to give GoGoV a go, I think it's good for me.

The Queen’s Wrath is a perfect finale, I did think it was a four parter until you mentioned it’s release. Lightspeed remains one of my all time favorites. Zedd is imprisoned on a planet that will force him to relive his worst nightmare and will do the same to anyone that goes there. @@mintbari Influencing is not the same as sending. The only person Zordon actively sent anywhere was Ayion. I did watch Power Rangers all 30 seasons. The good, the bad, and outright dumb (Dino Super Charge). And the Robot thing wouldn’t work, as Zedd is trapped in his own worst nightmare and by what was said can’t be released from it, without doing exactly what was said. It’s the nature of the planet. Also I never liked the Zedd return period. It was done through a monster that was subsequently destroyed. He was supposed to be from Zedd’s most evil point, which would have been long before his marriage or his first appearance in the show, and let me say again the monster that revived him and therefore powered that version was destroyed so how is his Zedd clone still around anyway.

I've struggled to keep up with PR for past few years, the formula is just tired and the camp isn't camping enough to be camp, it's just cringe. If they could recapture what was achieved in the In space - Lost Galaxy era they could absolutely revive the franchise. Karone's storyline is probably the best character arc in the whole franchise.

Bulk and Skull were main characters until In Space. In Lost Galaxy only Bulk stayed on cause Skull’s actor just wanted to direct for PR and other projects. After lost Galaxy, they were no longer main characters. Bulk and Skull did make cameos in the 10th anniversary special Forever Red. Bulk also became a side character in Samurai with also taking care of a new kid who was Skull’s son in universe. Skull also makes a cameo at the end of Samurai

I’d compare the Saban-era season finales to the midseason finales we’d have back in the day. Like Redemption Day in LG. That felt like an event. Also, Zayto’s Disney death was scripted and shot before they were for sure greenlit for Cosmic Fury

Fascinating seeing Lightspeed Rescue so talked up, especially for its grand finale. If you ask me, the Troika arc / defeat of Diabolico is even better. I've sung its praises plenty, particularly in what it meant for Diabolico's and Bansheera's characters, but it's like Doomsday meets The Green Candle. The sixth ranger is redeemed and is fighting for the good guys, as you do, so the demons immediately take a shot at him and take him off the table. All the while, Diabolico is sending out his very last monsters because he only has one shot at the rangers before Bansheera dethrones him. No "we'll get 'em next episode" this time. Ain't gonna' _be_ a next episode at this rate. It's him or the Rangers. With Diabolico no longer messing around, the Rangers are getting taken to their limits like never before. It seems almost as if Diabolico's Troika monsters have the Rangers' number. Even after Diabolico burns through his minions (even going as far as to kill one of them himself just to grow him), it's clear why Diabolico is the one in charge. He even no-sells the Rangers' finishers, a staple of any final boss fight in Power Rangers. Even the Rangers' best zord gets a hole blown through it, a level of mecha gore that Power Rangers had never done before. (Though to be fair, this had a lot to do with the source sentai, Go Go V, featuring a significant bump in special effects compared to its own predecessors.) Shifting down to the Lightspeed Megazord wasn't a grand plan to combo into the Lightspeed Solarzord. Not with Ryan off the table. It genuinely gave the impression that the Rangers were intending to go down swinging. The only reason the Rangers won that fight was because Ryan went to take care of business on his own, where he was likewise getting beaten within an inch of his life because he had to fight a monster unmorphed. Nothing was coming up Rangers anymore. Unlike with Troika, there weren't any more new toys coming to save the day at the last second. (Given how much earlier Ms. Fairweather pointed out the Max Solarzord was complete, it's likely the Rangers knew about the Lightspeed Solarzord.) The Rangers just had to use what they had available to them as their functional options actively dwindled. It's one of the tensest arcs in a kid's show this side of Digimon Tamers, and one I revisit periodically to this day. The Lightspeed Solarzord is just awesome in its own right, but even more so in its context. It's sort of the Mega Dragonzord of Lightspeed, even though stacking zords had been falling out of fashion in more recent years. Sure, you had your Ninja Falconzords and your Astro Delta Megazords (both of which appeared fairly early in their respective series...), but the Power Rangers meta had been leaning more towards super zords for a while now in place of the old "everybody pile on the Ultrazord". The Shogunzord. The Super Zeo Megazord. The Rescue Megazord. The Mega Voyager. And so on. Lightspeed itself even had the Supertrain Megazord, a big fan favorite and one of the most positively remembered elements of Lightspeed Rescue outside of Mike Chat's fight choreography. But what's less remembered is how infrequently the Supertrain sortied. For the Supertrain to predate the Lightspeed Solarzord was almost a purposeful narrative misdirect (especially when the Omega Megazord would come out later and be the _real_ super megazord equivalent). So when the _Supertrain_ gets scrapped, the audience is thinking "ok, best case scenario: Ryan gets back and the Max Solarzord and Lightspeed Megazord tag team Diabolico and drive him off to get atomic wedgied by Bansheera." You were almost led to believe that zord stacking wasn't a thing in Lightspeed Rescue. But then you realize that Diabolico took Ryan out first thing, so the Rangers never got a chance to zord stack... until now! Cue the Wasserman-esque series leitmotif, and the rest is history. Y'know how it's a big meme in Megaforce that Gosei keeps throwing toys at the Rangers for random acts of not giving up in the face of minor inconveniences? I feel like the Lightspeed Solarzord is the ur-example of what those instances were trying to do. No one needed to audibly commend the Lightspeed Rescue rangers for their massive brass balls in the face of certain defeat. Their courage and resourcefulness was rewarded didactically. So when the Lightspeed Solarzord finally descended from above on the force of its foot verniers like a giant mecha angel covered in blaster cannons, it felt earned in a way that Gosei's handouts never did. As the Hyperdimension Neptunia anime once put it, "they defeated the monsters with the power of love and also probably lasers. Hooray!"

TL;DR: Turbo's destruction of the Power Chamber works while other headquarters getting trashed don't because it came at the end of a series of defeats, and wasn't done for its own sake. The destruction of the Power Chamber in Turbo worked because it was done dramatically and in an escalating fashion. First, the rangers lost their Zords and heavy weapons. Then Zordon is captured, after which Dimitria and the Blue Centurion leave, the latter taking his Zord with him, presumably. Then the rangers try to fight off an army of piranhatrons in hand-to-hand combat and lose. Their living car allies try to save them, but are captured and enslaved. Yes, enslaved. We see this in an episode of In Space next season, when they are mercifully freed. After they lose the cars, the rangers retreat into the power chamber, only to have it breached by a battering ram and more piranhatrons bursting down from the ceiling. And then the lights go out, a bunch of fires start, and Elgar of all people wrecks Zordon and Dimitria's tube so they can't return. And only THEN does the Power Chamber actually get destroyed when Elgar plants some bombs which are then detonated by Divatox. There's also a sense of dread which shows off actual acting skills on the part of the cast.

Hate to say this but I am more interested in the Japanese original versions since in the English version of made the storyline kinda interesting back then but nowadays it's just been boring to me after I stopped at RPM series and never resume after that when they should have made it somewhat interesting as villains names their own gadgets arsenals and vehicles and including weapons should have a much better naming than just saying power this power that or even their own transformation devices as call it something else at least than just morphers all the times as I thought the definition of morphers means a watch or device wrist to your hand or something like that than cellar or other devices they just keeps calling it nothing else than morphers all the times each newest PR series

I think them taking as far a step away from how the show has been handled the past decade and starting fresh is the best bet for the reboot. I don't think it's a problem that's unique to filming in New Zealand, I just think they got into some really bad habits that they couldn't fix (despite literally everyone pointing at them and the people working on the show being well aware).

However, even as a grown ass man, I'm still looking forward to the reboot (if there's any news). It'll be a surprise if they have an original theme for the rangers. I don’t know o rather liked the Mystic Force final as it sort of reminded me of Sailor Moon’s Season 1 finale. As they both use Team Work and combined all of their Positive Powers/Magic to overload and Beat the Big Bad of the Season. They both did it the same way too by Filtering all of their Powers and Magic in to the leader and after doing so the leader Defeated or I guess Destroy is the more popular term? The said Big Bad of the Season.
