What if the Abomination of Desolation is already in Jerusalem? It has been explained by almost all Theologians that when other gods are in Jerusalem, it is an abomination that causes desolation. It is, Dome of the Rock is surely the Abomination of Desolation - if you take a day for a year and calcukate number of days form Daniels prophecies, you arrive at 688 AD - since removing the daily sacrifice - in some 500-600 BC

you might be confused with the speaker because of your belief. As you state it above. There is only one Text that Describes the Rapture. The word Rapture comes from a Latin translation the Greek word is ἁρπάζω harpazō meaning "caught up". It is found in 1 Thess 4:17. In your belief expressed above The Coming is 3 1/2 years after. Coming in Greek is παρουσία 'parousia' meaning 'coming' However 1 Thess 4:15-17 shows in context "the Coming" vs 15 happens simultaneously with being "caught up" in vs 17. Here is the text itself for you to see how the description of Paul puts it: “For we say this to you by a revelation from the Lord: We who are still alive at the Lord’s coming will certainly have no advantage over those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the archangel’s voice, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are still alive will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and so we will always be with the Lord.” ‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭4:15-17‬ ‭HCSB‬‬ Does this appear to be the same event as it reads? First the Lord's "coming" then being "caught up" together with Him and not being "caught up" waiting for 3 1/2 years and then the Lord's "coming?" It is important not to let a particular teaching cloud your understanding of what Scripture says. Another thing to point out is it is very loud there is shouting and trumpets. It is not done in secret.

The destruction of Jerusalem was prophesied in Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21. Matthew and Mark say when you see the abomination of desolation spoken by Daniel the prophet to flee into the wilderness/mountains. Luke 21 tells us that when these things shall be, know that the desolation is nigh. The abomination of desolation here was the Roman army because they destroyed the temple, the city, and the people, making Jerusalem desolate until Israel is redeemed, and the abomination of desolation in Daniel 8 the little horn, and Daniel 11, the polluter of the sanctuary of strength who took away the daily sacrifices, was Antiochus Epiphanes. History tells us that Antiochus IV, replaced the high priest (who is the prince of the host) Onias III, with his Hellenized brother Jason, and later replaced Jason around 171 to 170 B.C with a person not of the tribe of Levi (Menelaus of the tribe of Benjamin), stopped the daily sacrifices, defiled the sanctuary by erecting a statute of a false god in the temple, killed a pig on the altar of the sanctuary, refused the Israelites to be circumcised, and read from the scriptures the words of the God of Israel in 168 B.C. This caused the truth (word of God) to be cast to the ground. The question was Daniel 8:13-14, "Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, how long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot? And he said unto me, unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed". This is not about the return of Jesus Christ to setup his kingdom for 1000 years, because the children of Israel were in the land, and this temple that Daniel sees is the second temple after the Babylonian captivity. Gabriel was told to make Daniel understand the vision that he saw. Gabriel told Daniel that he would make him to know what shall be in the last end of the indignation for at the time appointed the end shall be. The God of Israel had indignation against the children of Israel, because many stopped obeying his laws, wanted to be Hellenized (the young priests engaged in sports, and Jerusalem was filled with Greek styles, clothes, Greek names, Greek languages, and Greek religion and morals). In verse 23-25 , of Daniel chapter 8, the transgressors (1st John 3:4, "Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law, for sin is the transgression of the law ") are Israel, because Israel is the only nation under the laws of God and the only nation to have made a covenant with the God of Israel. The God of Israel is no respecter of person, but in every nation he that feareth him and worketh righteousness, he accepts and they are grafted into the covenant of Israel, but Israel is the only nation under the laws of God (Romans 2:12-15 , 1st Corinthians 9:19-21). When Israel’s or another nation’s iniquity comes to the full, the God of Israel will punish them; he sent Antiochus to carry out Israel’s punishment. Daniel 9:26 26And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. Christ is our Messiah and His death ended the Levitical sacrifices for sin. He came not for himself, but to restore the lost sheep of Israel and later for the other sheep who were not part of Israel, the grafted Gentiles. Then after His death, the destruction of Jerusalem came in 70 AD. The people of the prince (and the prince is satan), who will destroy in Daniel 9:29, refers to the Roman army, because they destroyed the city, Jerusalem, and the sanctuary, the temple. Revelation 12 describes the destruction of Jerusalem. The great dragon in Revelation 12:3-4 is satan and the third of the stars of heaven satan threw were the third of the angels. God calls His people the “hosts of the Lord” (Exodus 12:40-41, Numbers 2)and the twelve stars represent the twelve tribes of Israel. Ezekiel 5:12 mentions how a third of Israel shall be killed by the sword, die by famine, and be scattered into the wind. This scripture prophecised 70 AD because after the destruction those who escaped were taken into captivity or “scattered to the wind” and sent to the four corners of the earth. Satan was cast out of heaven completely in the war with Michael (Revelation 12:7-10), when Christ died on the cross. “Now is the judgment of this world come, now shall the prince of this world be cast out,” (John 12:31). Through the death and blood of Jesus, Satan could no longer accuse the people before God, Jesus freeing us from the curse of death satan brought to all mankind by tempting Adam and Eve. Christ warned his disciples during His ministry that the city would be destroyed and there shall not be one stone left of the temple (Matthew 24:1-4). The end of the Jerusalem “shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined”. The desolations determined are upon the people and the land because Jerusalem will lie wasted and the people, scattered. Once the end of Jerusalem came, Israel became desolate. Their glory and name ceased from amongst the nations (Psalm 83). They would abide many days without a priest or without a sacrifice (Hosea 3:4) until the coming of Jesus who will restore them to their glory, making them priests again to fulfill their duty to teach the other nations. Isaiah 62: 1-4 1For Zion's sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth. 2And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory: and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the LORD shall name. 3Thou shalt also be a crown of glory in the hand of the LORD, and a royal diadem in the hand of thy God. 4Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall thy land any more be termed Desolate: but thou shalt be called Hephzibah, and thy land Beulah: for the LORD delighteth in thee, and thy land shall be married.

The third temple will be built by Zerubabbel and the priests of Zadok will offer the sacrifices there because the temple is holy and will only holy if built by the regenerated saints. Consider this: The Olivet discourse is recorded in the gospels of Matt 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21 and the writers reference the Abomination of Desolation and Luke actually defines it. Matthew 24:15. When ye therefore shall see the A of D... Mark 13:14 But when ye shall see the A of D... Luke 21:20. And when ye shall see JERUSALEM COMPASSED WITH ARMIES, then know that the desolation is nigh. This sign was seen by the early Christians when Jerusalem was besieged, first by Cestius Gallus in about 66 CE for 9 days. He had to withdraw to Casarea on the coast due to logistical issues and his forces were attacked by zealots during that retreat. This was the chance for Christians to get out of Dodge! Because what happened next was Nero sending in Flavianus VESPASIAN to solve the Jewish problem. He started in the Gallilee region and swept down through the land toward Jerusalem like a flood (see Daniel 9:26). He set up a seige that was not broken but was prolonged after he was called back to Rome following the suicide of Nero. There was a struggle involving 3 other generals and Vespasian became Cesar. He left his son Titus, now a "prince" who finished the job by 70 CE. The A of D will be seen again before Christ returns but the armies of the nations will be held off for 3 1/2 years by 2 prophets who will then be killed but resurrected after their bodies are left in the street for 3 days (Rev. 11). The city will then be ravaged but that will end when Christ makes his appearances at the Mount of Olives (see Zechariah 12-14) to save Judah and the accept Him as Messiah. Some time after that he comes in Glory to the rest of the world, the destruction of the wicked, the general resurrection of "the dead-in-Christ" and the "rapture" or changing (1 Cor 15:51) of those who accept Christ as The Messiah. So, watch for the armies of nations to gather in a valley about 60 north of Jerusalem, Meggido, and move against Jerusalem but be held off by two men with power from God they won't understand. In my humble opinion.

while it is true AD 70 was a fulfillment in the 1st century, the very first fulfillment was in 168-184 BC leading to the rededication of the temple in 164. Each had similar elements and district elements namely in the first there was a rededication which did not happen in 70 AD. So while the future will have similarities it will also have distinctions.

@@fleetwd1 Antiocus 4th, Epiphianus, that was more of a desecration than a desolation. What the Babylonians did was a destruction, but they left the rubble. What Antiocus did was a desecration of the rebuilt temple. What happened between 70 and and the revolt of 135 resulted in Jerusalem and the temple being erased and literally turned into a plowed field in fulfillment of prophecy. In my humble opinion...

@@UtahKentno doubt 70 AD was a future fulfillment predicted by Jesus in His day but he also recognized the former celebrated by the "feast/festival of dedication" recorded in John 10:22. we know it today as Hanukkah.. Also fulfillments often have multiple applications so 70AD is not the only one that will happen in AD. The Jews definitely regarded the desecration as fulfillment of Daniel 8 description of desolation. See Robert Alter's English translation of Jewish Scriptures notes on Daniel 8;11,13 &14. (The Writings pg 782) The NIV Study Bible does the same on notes Daniel 8:9-12 &14.(pg1312)

@Pioneering in Prophecy The prophecy clearly relates to Daniels people and the rebuilding and restoration of the Holy City of JERUSALEM. It was Jeremiahs writings (Jeremiah 25 and 29, prophecy their captivity would be 70 years) that moved Daniel to prayer as recorded at the beginning of Daniel 9. The whole chapter gives the context for the prophecy at the end of Daniel 9 in v24-27. Its a prophecy about those taken from the Holy City Jerusalem beginning between about 604 BCE and through 586 BCE and the rebuilding and restoring ofthe Holy City Jerusalem.

Wow. I am stunned. This man just confirmed many things the Lord taught me this year as He led me to study Daniel. I am in shock because I haven't heard anyone completely validate it yet. The most stunning is that a few years ago the Lord said, "this is like that" and showed me the crucifixion week and we were going to go through it, so told me to "watch and pray" to overcome. He has been focusing me on those three stories in Daniel and how they pertain to this time and he was conforming all of that! It's true! the term was first applied to the traveling tent of meeting that wandered. when in the land it was first housed in Shilo. It later moved to Jerusalem. the temple was built by Solomon but the tent had been moved to Jerusalem by David. The term represented where access was restricted until the death of Christ. I doubt God has a place in mind. as for the 3rd temple. The temple served its purpose. Jesus body contained the shekinah glory once housed in the Most Holy place of the tent and later Solomon's temple. the 2nd temple never had the presence but Prophets proclaimed it would have a greater glory than the Solomon temple. It came veiled in human flesh. it was the shekinah glory in the body of the Messiah Jesus. this is what the book of Hebrews and the words of Jesus meant. He is the temple bodily dwelling among men. no building anywhere will replace the substance. the room was a shadow to reveal the reality once the reality appears the shadows have served their purpose but are no longer to be the focus. all 3rd temple considerations are idolatry. the substance is Christ and his body of which are we who are in Him.

There is no explicit identification so context and correlation are relative to a person's interpretation. For me, Michael is Jesus.
