Brian Johnson stepped into a horrible, sad situation and ran with it. He gave it his all right out the gate and for that I will be forever grateful to him. No disrespect to Bon Scott, of course. Basically, how do you not only fill Bon Scott's shoes, but breathe new life into a band we otherwise would have lost over 40 years ago? Legend. One of my favorite bands of all time.

I don't know if it's true, but I heard Bon Scott told the band before he died something to the effect of if he ever went that he wanted them to get Brian to replace him. He's probably the only one who could have. RIP Bon Scott

@Wilt Chamberlain is the GOAT Brian is the better technical singer, no doubt. But similar to David Lee Roth, I love the charisma, lyricism, and style of Bon just a bit more. Can’t go wrong with either version of the band, IMO.

Absolutely love AC/DC! I think one of the funniest stories I heard was when Angus was being interviewed. The interviewer said something like “A lot of people are saying that you guys have made 13 albums now and they all sound the same.” Without hesitation, Angus responds “That’s absolute bullsh*t! We’ve made 14 albums that sound the same.” AC/DC has their own unique sound. You immediately know their music when you hear it. They are like their own genre. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

I love that particular quote. I also like when an interviewer asked Angus how it felt to be one of the greatest guitarists in rock. Angus replied "I'm not even the greatest guitarist in our band." Mad props to Angus for tooting the horn of his big brother Malcolm who always stepped back and let his little brother shine.

@@Rebelrocker69 That is awesome! Thanks for sharing that. So check this out. I do voiceover work. I was at a local studio here in Michigan at a recording session. I noticed a photo of AC/DC in front of this studio hanging on the wall. Apparently, AC/DC recorded some stuff at the studio about 15 years ago. I was talking one of the producers at the studio about it. He was telling me that the guys from AC/DC were super laid back and down to Earth dudes when they recording there. They were drinking tea, chain smoking cigarettes, and being friendly.

The standard AC/DC lineup was Brian Johnson/Bon Scott as lead singer, Angus Young on lead guitar, Malcom Young (Angus' older brother) on rhythm guitar, Cliff Williams on bass guitar, and Phil Rudd on drums. Each of them a master of their own instrument, each of them a strong part of the world's most popular hard rock band. RIP Malcolm! We all love you!

The song Ride On is nearly a ballad. If you like Bryan's voice you can find old videos of him on You Tube with a different band singing far differently than when he got to AC/DC. You would be shocked!

I always like to karaoke “Ride On,” I feel like I can sing it pretty good and there’s just not many songs from them that I can. It’s very soft and slow which also makes it easier to sing. Not that it isn’t hard to sing, because I do find it a bit challenging, but it’s one of there easiest to sing. “Night Prowler” and “The Jack” too. There are other ballads from AC/DC as well, most notably “Love Song” and “Rock n Roll Dream.” Their new album also had a song that sounded like a ballad kind of-it was “Through the Mists of Time,” and it was actually dedicated and about the late Malcolm Young in many ways. He’s even in the video.

I do have something on a personal note about this band AC/DC. I just got to start rocking out with them on the Highway to Hell album. Got to know Bon Scott and Angus. My mother never liked the song Highway and complained about it a lot but I still kept on playing it it's my headphones on. Me and my older brother was really hit hard when we found out about Bon Scott's death. Thought they would break up or heaven forbid a lead singer that would never come close to what they had. I was a freshman sophomore year in high school when black and black came out I was too busy and paid it no mind leaving it was going to be no good. But my older brother bought it. Brought it back home ready for Mom to leave to go to her church function. Well I was reading a book getting ready for a report in my room all alone. I hear this resonating thong. It got louder and louder it was" the Bell". He cranked it up louder and louder busted through my door said listen to this. Brian Johnson started belting out Hells Bell. It became the most serendipitous moment of my life. A rebirth. It really was a Back in Black. the time the moment the content the men. All of these things had two conjunct to make an album of this upper echelon. It is one of a kind a unique one. Glad I was there to listen to the beginning.

Then the interviewer asked "but could Malcolm do your parts?". Angus said "Oh yeah, it would be easy for him." Don't ever forget to give Malcolm Young his props, he has created some of the most iconic riffs in hard rock/metal History! His riff-writing is the stuff of Legends!! AC/DC has very very few slower songs, and even those are bangers. Ride On. That's the best one. Amazing song!! Little Lover is cool too.

Malcolm Young was the rhythm guitarist and one of the main writers for the band. He came up w/ a lot of the riffs, song structures. Always stayed in the background, I guess it suited his personality, and with Angus and Bon (or Brian) how many front men do you need? He was Angus's older brother.

😂🙄😆 Haven't heard this is in a couple of generations. Amazing how I haven't forgotten a bit of it. It's weird how songs are like that - you can not hear a song for 45 years, and once you hear it again, it all comes back. Thankfully, the acne hasn't come back.

AC/DC does have a love song and it's actually called Love Song, it's off their first album. Give it a listen, it's a great under appreciated song. "I can tell by the look in your eye" "I can tell by the way you sigh" "That you know I've been thinking of you" "And you know what I want to do" "Oh Jean, oh Jean, oh Jean oh jean" "When you smile I see stars in the sky, when you smile I see sunrise" "And I know you've been thinking of me, and I know how you want it to be" "Oh Jean, oh Jean, oh Jean, oh Jean" "I can tell by the things you say, I can tell that you know the way" "And I know what you want me to do, oh I've got hearts and flowers for you" "If you leave me you'll make me cry, when I think of you saying goodbye, Oh the sky would turn a deeper blue, That's, thats how I'd feel if I lost you" "Jean, oh Jean, don't go and leave me, because I love you, I love you, don't leave me, it would make me cry, when you say goodbye" "Don't go away Jean" Lyrics from AC/DC Love Song written by Bon Scott ❤

The main man in AC/DC was actually rhythm guitar player Malcolm Young. He was the driving force, and was that driving rhythm in the back that just wouldn’t be the AC/DC sound without him. He may not have stepped into the limelight the way that bon/Brian and Angus did but he’s the man. So sad when he passed

This is another great song from "Back In Black." Every song on this album has been in regular rotation on rock radio stations since 1980. You'll be doing yourselves a favor by listening to every song. It's not Pink Floyd, so it really doesn't matter what order.

The thing about Angus is he’s not hyperactive off stage. He’s a very mild mannered jokester. As are the rest of the guys. He apparently sits backstage sipping hot tea while warming up on the guitar. When he crosses the line onto the stage and the lights come on it flips a switch and he’s a different person.
