Thanks for remembering Sohrab Modi. I remember watching his movies on TV and his mind blowing voice.People talk about Amitabh's voice but the greatest voice in film industry was Sohrab Modi.And what a presence in movies like Sikander and Pukar.Hindi film industry is truly ungrateful and is stuck with only worshipping a select group of stars, very sad to know , such a phenomenal film maker and actor was forgotten.

Sohrab Modisaab was a tough legend his voice was like a roar of a lion . In our gujarati language he was titled as a garajto Sher .( Roaring lion) All his historical and family movies were a hit. Very pleasing. I my self enjoy speaking powerful dialogues like him. He was he and quite unique.

My mother used keep coaxing me to see old time movies one of them being Sohrab Modis. Around mid 1970s she met Modi outside Churchgate station ,in Bombay. Modi said he was glad she recognized him. Mom said the spark in him was gone and he had aged a lot. We didnt know about his financial misfortune at that time. Learnt that from your video. Thanks for this series.

Sohrab Modi last movie as actor was Kamal Amrohi"s Raziya Sultan. In 1978/79 He made a movie Meena Kumari Ki Amar Kahani and in year 1982 at that time, he had launched a movie tittled Guru Dakshina with Sushant Ray and Padmini Kolhapure and music by Naushad. But the movie was not made. A big Mahurat was held.

Oh such a great show man with rich voice and delivery of dialogue with impeccable Urdu/Hindi. He never had dull movements... His movies used to entertain audiences with full entertainment, no department of his film making was any time looked failure, dull or lacking in its presentation or utilisation. Prithvi Vallabh movie with medival Central Indian history of Ujjain and Kalyani Chalukya theme was very much fascinating every time, I watched it... Yahudi, Sheesh Mahal, Porus, Jhansi ki Rani, all the movies I watched.. were great classics. He introduced, promoted so many actors and actresses.. Great man with quality and lovely themes in his movies.... 🙏🙏🙏

Sohrab modi was a great artist no doubt. Many stalwats who reached the top too collapsed into poverty in later years.. Indeed sad... Gm durrani. Bharat bhushan, dada bhawan. Mubarak begum. Sohrab modi ji. We're examples... Surendraji was very wise.. In 1954 after acting in gawaah and rendering three great hits he called it a day and started his own business and succeedef. This man had the devine opportunity to come into direct contact with Maa Jagadamba ( yes, Goddess herself). Today, I came to know that Sohrabji was given diksha by Maa Sarada (wife of Lord Shree Ramakrishna) directly. Any other award given by mankind naturally becomes valueless. Eyes that are seeing Sohrabji, even on screen, are becoming purer and the souls--nearer to the Goddess Maa Durga🙏
