This is creepy. I remember back in the 80's and 90's, in elementary school, we had problem solving sessions in math. Remember those word problems like "a train is going this fast and what time does it meet this other train" or something. We always had those. And we learned computer coding in high school. Q Basic and C++ on Dos. Our instructors pretty much just gave us a problem and we were allowed to approach it in any way. "Write me a program that lets me enter 5 integers and then it prints it back arranged from lowest to highest." They taught us to be creative. If this shit is happening in the United States, I am so glad I was not born there.
@Pils1020 күн бұрын
Currently also happening in Europe, but to a lesser extent. Also, this is school-based and often times subjective. For example, I got regular called out for doing a math equation my way instead of the way the teacher told us, even though I was more efficient with my way of solving the problem and the result was the same. Another example would be AI some of my teachers told us that from now on, all presentations and work that gets evaluated should be done in school so that we can't "cheat" using these tools, resulting in us having less time to think about and solve the exercises and everyone (even tough only a few of us used AI) got worse grades as a result.

Schools are a reflection of workplaces. If you have the right one of those, perhaps paired with a proper last name, the world is yours. If you don't, guess it's time to make some friends and marry strategically. Two of the most stupid things to change within a century that have ruined us 1) got off the gold standard, and because we no longer needed tangible assets to back up an IOU we can make the debt number go as big as we want which is insane. 2) when student loans went federal (can’t default or get out of a federal loan) it became predatory and another mechanism to keep people working to pay that off too.

The gold standard meant that the rich could hoard all the gold. And since there is very little gold, they would own the world. By removing the dependency on gold, governments could use inflation, and inflation (if reasonable, around 2%) benefits the poor, because it eats up debt and poor people are in debt. Now today the wealthy has found new ways to own the world, by owning assets: Bill Gates buys farm land, others buy energy companies, other buys real estate, so that we the working class must pay the wealthy for everything we use to keep on living. What is the solution once the super wealthy owns everything (like in south Korea)??? The people need to take it back. How?

To be fair, this started before industrialization, and during the feudal era. No, it started during antiquity (the classical period, during slave times). No, it actually started with agriculture. And what was before that? Hunter-gatherer, pre-agricultural. Work kinda started long before civilization. Do you think premodern people were free adventurers like in your fantasy RPG? No, most worked the fields, some had a trade or craft like building, making certain tools, or being artisanal. There were also those sanitation workers back then. Very few were itinerant, and they had work to do: they traveled solely for work. The nobles & yeomen, they weren't free adventurers either, they fought the dumb wars, with orders & commands from their King. The King wasn't free either, he had to look after the Kingdom. No one is really free, not even animals in nature are: their lives are quite shiite Look at the lives of bees, etc.

The literal meaning of the word "mortgage" is death pledge. Let that sink in for a minute...
@royharper200315 күн бұрын
Mortgage dates back to the late 14th century, with the roots “mort” meaning death in French and “gage” meaning pledge. While that literally makes a mortgage a death pledge, it’s not as eerie as it sounds. It is believed that the concept of a mortgage began in early civilizations: an exchange of property with a pledge to repay over time. The pledge would be considered “dead,” or null, once the loan was repaid or if the borrower could not fulfill the terms of the deal.

currency de-valuation is an intentional government induced policy to make sure that no matter how much money you have saved, you will never be able to become financially free.. it's real and kept hidden from the general population which is being told "inflation is naturally occurring" which is a huge lie. easiest way to understand it, if you work really hard and have managed to save up 500-600K EUR until you are 45, you could technically buy a house for 150K (real price for a small house when adjusting from inflation to real currency value) and semi-retire with the rest.. because there is no inflation, your money can buy you each year the almost the same amount of goods and services, it is predictable, it is stable - predictable and stable is what the government DO NOT want for the middle class.. inflation / currency de-valuation enters the room..
