The Entire History of the Gears of War Franchise

Hey guys! I want to apologize because I made a handful of errors in this video. After the Gears E-Day reveal I rushed to get this out for everyone ASAP, made it all within 1 day and overlooked some stuff. They aren't big errors, just small things that don't impact the overall history of the franchise but it's still annoying that I made these errors. I've listed corrections below. -GOW Tactics was not a PC exclusive -No Robotic Arm on the lancer, I mistyped in the script but not sure what the heck I meant LOL -Overrun was not in gears of war 2, it debuted in Judgement -Rescued Maria in Gears 2, not Anya -Gears 2 released in 2008, not 2006

The first two Gears of War games have been impacted for me when I was on the sophomore year of high school. The universe CliffyB had introduced to us. Taking our cover everywhere. The Lancer assault rife with a chainsaw bayonet. The characters we grow to love (such as Marcus, Dom, Baird, Cole, etc). The ‘Mad World’ song. Horde mode. Unraveling mysteries of the Locust and what led to Emergency Day. Sera Had suffered 94 years of planetary war (in combination of the Locust Wars + Pendulum Wars). Riding a Brumak. Horde mode. And insane online multiplayer modes that we spend hours competing against other players. Even though 5 and 5 are not the best games (considered choosing who will live still haunts me but saving JD should be canon), Gears of War has been the most phenomenal series that changed the way a third person shooter games are made today!

totally agree dude. It's really its OWN THING entirely. There's nothing like it out there and nothing that will ever compare. I really enjoyed Gears 5 if I'm being honest, mostly just cause of how graphically stunning it was, but i'm pumped to go back to the horror roots with Gears E-Day :)

Overun was in gears of wars judgement which released after gears of wars 3. Horde mode was introduced in gears of wars 2 but wasnt as refined as it was in gears of wars 3.

I remember in 2006 when my big brother just got a 360 and a copy of Gears of War, i was scared to play it. I thought the game looked like a movie. That was the first game I ever saw and thought "This is for adults." 😂 Life changing game for sure

I never understood the hate for gears of war 4 yeah we didn’t get to fight the brute looking thingies at the first beginning but that doesn’t mean the game is bad it felt like a fresh start of learning more of the history of the games lore of the enemies they used to fight back then and not just the same old enemy over and over again oh and I also thought the robots were pretty badass

Good video bro but for gears of war 2. They were trying to save Doms wife, Maria from the hollow. Not Anya, she was in Jacinto at control still. For most but not even all of the game.

gears of war has so many good qualities and the devs consistently made attempts to break up the monotony of the combat. for that i have to give them credit, even the second game was awfully rinse and repeat as far as "go to area, kill all bad guys, hit door switch, move again. but they always tried to add more to the game without going too crazy.

I love how everyone who disliked the game complained about it's graphic violence and overly masculine energy were all pansy looking writers and or female critics. Newsflash, that's what sells and what true fans desperately want. Visceral, gritty, violent, and horrifying. We want to fight against near impossible odds with effective tools and lots of gore.

My hope for Gears 6 is that JD lives & Del’s death is canon. Marcus have lost so many people throughout his life. Two Carmines, Carlos, Tai, Kim, Dom, his father Adam, and his wife Anya. can’t afford to let him lose his son. This would also build a better father-son relationship since Marcus had experienced so many hardships than JD. So Coalition?! Let him keep his son please!

Nnnnaaaa! GOW2 MP was way more messed up than that. No Beta Test meant Stealing Host and turning an entire team Invisible! This could be achieved by simply removing your Ethernet cable from your Gateway, for a few seconds, then plugging it back in! Even after a Patch, you could still do it up to 4/5 times only to receive a Host Ban for a few matches. Then simply rinse/repeat! I mean, who the hell even thought of that in the first place?! 😂😂 P.S. - This was great time for video! Fantastic job!!! 👍👍

I must be in the minority because I really liked both 4 and 5. Obviously not as much as 1,2 and 3 but I liked them. I did hate the vehicle in 5 though. That thing made no physical sense at all and looked dumb as hell.
