This allowed me to clearly see why I like skate three so much more. Physics under speed are so much more fun which allow for huge jumps and crazy tricks. It’s just realistic enough to be difficult but they smoothing certain parts out for gameplay

It's fun reverse engineering console games and their formats for models, levels, and even custom-compressed audio lol. One of my projects was putting the PS2 version of GTA San Andreas's map into Tony Hawk's Underground 2 on Gamecube. I know there are PC versions of both games that are easier to work with, but getting it working in an emulator is even more fun for me, and that way I know they'll work with more operating systems (and be maintained long after the PC versions inevitably lose their compatibility)

@@XenonOrion Yeah, you just need to feed the binary data in a way the rendering/physics engine can make sense of. It doesn't have much to do with the console itself, but rather how the developers are interfacing with the device.

It’s so accurate because it’s literally the map from Skate 3 he just ripped the model files from EA’s game and splined it possibly retextured everything it wasn’t rebuilt from scratch or something that would have been near impossible to nail

Could someone please be kind enough to explain to me why the mods available for PC are unable to be used on console? I’m assuming there’s some sort of conversion process where the game has to be somewhat different to run on PlayStation which renders it incompatible for community mods? Either way it’s super frustrating from a console owners perspective seeing how the game is completely different on PC.

Long story short, SkaterXL is easy to make mods for. Most games aren’t like this. You can’t get mods on console because Sony and Microsoft simply don’t allow you to alter the game/system files, and that’s exactly what mods do. The only way to get the ‘features’ that the mods bring to the table would be for Easy Day to actually add them into the core game. A few years ago this actually seemed possible. But 2 years later with no gameplay changes? Who knows.
